HAD SURGERY 2003 - SERIOUS ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT I THOUGHT BUT SURGERY WAS THE NEW "FAD" THING FOR WEIGHT LOSS. I HAVE BEEN OVER WEIGHT FOR THE GREATER PART OF MY LIFE. I WAS HOUNDED BY FAMILY & CLOSE FRIENDS TO LOSE WEIGHT. THINKING THE SURGERY WOULD CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT EATING. I WAS NAIVE ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN, THE FOOD THOUGHTS DIDN'T GO AWAY, THE PORTIONS DECREASED BUT THE ADDICTION TO FOOD DID NOT & HAS NOT. OVER ALL I HAVE LOST 75 POUNDS IN MY JOURNEY - STRUGGLED WITH IT EVERY DAY & EVERY INCH OF THE WAY. LAST YEAR (2009) I MADE THE DECISION TO RE-START MY FOCUS OF LOSING THE WEIGHT. I READ THE SUCESS STORIES & THINK I CAN DO THAT BUT I HAVEN'T. HAVE I FOLLOWED THE PLAN TO A 100% T ? NOPE AND THEREFORE ONCE AGAIN I SEE MYSELF AS A FAILURE AND I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE THAT.
