  1. Fantastic job. You can really see a difference in the 2 pics- especially your face. Keep it up!
  2. You must have lost quite a bit of weight very quickly after surgery. There was probably a lot of fluid. Your body may be compensating for that now, so your not seeing the scale move. Hang in there, it will happen!

    trouble with rich food?

If your generally eating lowfat, introducing rich foods may be bothering your system. In terms of weightloss, it's probably better to stay away from rich foods anyway.
  4. Can you put off getting the dress fitted until it's closer to the time? Even waiting a couple months may make a difference. As Betsy said, the dress shop people should be able to help you- it's what they do.

    Day Three...

Your chest feeling tight seems totally normal. Full is a different feeling with the band. Sounds like you are doing well- good luck.
  6. samualpinedo, I would look into getting banded for sure. It is one of the best things I've every done for myself. At 41, my only regret is I didn't do it sooner.

    Skinnier before surgery...

Wow- sorry you are having such a rough time. It must be so frustrating to be trying so hard and not loosing weight. I don't know if a fill is in order or not. Varying your calorie intake and workouts may spur some weightloss. It's about tricking your body into shedding that fat. Hope this helps and good luck.

    Carbs or No Carbs

I believe "good carbs" are necessary in limited quantities. You want to get them from whole grains, fruit, veggies, dairy. Glucose (what your body easily turns carbs into) is the only nutrient your brain can use. Personally, I walk a middle ground between very low carb and what my nut says (she says 130 carbs a day). I take in about 60 carbs a day and have pretty steadily been loosing 2-3 pounds a week. Find what works for you. I believe calories in and calories out is the main issue as far as weight loss. Best wishes on your journey!
  9. I walk on the treadmill or do a step aerobic routine at home about 5 days a week. I also workout with weights 3 days a week- I have a personal trainer who is great. Water aerobics sounds like a great idea. Very low impact. Whatever you do, just do it on a regular basis and I bet you see results. Best wishes!

    Lost Lap-Band

You seem to have thought your decision to have the lapband again through. I wish you all the best. You deserve it after everything you've been through!

    Stomach sleeper

I slept on my stomach from the get go. I was lucky enough to have very little pain, I have a high tolerance. I agree, you can do it as soon as it's comfortable for you. Get a good night sleep!

    stress

I highly reccomend starting a workout program if you haven't already. It will boost that weight loss and help relieve stress. It's just too good a thing to pass up. Start out slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration. Hang in there!
  13. Awsome! Keep up the great work!

    nervous and discouraged

12 pounds in 10 days is fantastic! You may find you have a big drop over the next couple weeks. I believe they put saline in the iv in the hospital, makes you retain fluids. I only lost 3.5 pounds the first week, but a couple weeks later lost 8 in one week. I don't think you have anything to be discouraged about. You will get there! Also, you may be weighing yourself too much. Your weight will flucuate from day to day. I suggest weighing in once a week. I know it's hard, but you may be less discouraged that way. Best wishes!

    Goodbye winter clothes

Great! It will be an awsome feeling to try those clothes on in the fall. I am sure they will be way to big for you! Best wishes!

    Liquid Pain Med

I was given perceset- which i dissolved. Worked great. Also, on the subject of pain meds, don't hesititate to ask for them in the hospital. I am sorry i hesitated until the next day to ask. I would have slept much better i am sure. Good luck!
  17. I would call the dr. office since you are worried. I bet it's nothing, but better off on the safe side. Feel better!

    PB, vomiting, or....??

Sorry you are having a hard time. You said your eating- is your dr. ok with this? Most people are on liquids for at least a week post op. I have experienced vomiting, but the food comes up right away- easily. Hope you feel better soon!
  19. I was only on liquids for one week- then soft foods for a week, then solids. I had no trouble at all. I agree, your doctor is very strict.
  20. I was told full liquids right away. I didn't have any problems. Seems different doctors give different orders. I don't think you've done any harm. Good luck in your journey!

    What to Eat

You are in what is known as bandster hell. The time after surgery before you get restriction. Hang in there! It will get easier. Your doc. is right to watch the carbs- I also eat very low fat. Lots of protien! Try to stay away from prepared, processed foods. I would ask your dietician to go over some specific guidelines for you. Doesn't sound like he/she has been real helpfull so far. Best of luck!

    Why journal?

I journaled for about the first 4 months after surgery. I have to admit, I don't anymore. I got into such a routine with what I eat I feel like I don't need to. I have a limited repertoire of things i have for me 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. However, if someone is struggling I would highly reccomend journaling.
