  1. I believe acid reflux is from being too tight. So no, I don't think a fill will help. I would talk to your doctor about the situation.
  2. I would find a doctor in your new area. You may need a slight unfill. My doctor always asks about acid reflux, so I think it is related to being too tight. Not sure why this would have happened all of a sudden.
  3. That is good you are going to see the doctor. Sounds like it's probably just swelling, but I have no way of knowing for sure. Talk to your doctor.
  4. Therapy sounds like a great idea. You want to be careful about getting into a binge then purge pattern of behavior. I think that you are so aware of the issue is a great start. Best wishes! Keep us posted on how your doing.

You are doing great, keep it up!

    Take Your Measurements

Wow- you are the incredibly shrinking woman!

    Exercise Goals #2

Did 40 minutes on the treadmill- walk/jog. I go to my trainer this afternoon- we'll do legs. I really didn't want to go this morning, but am sooooo glad I did.
  8. You are doing great, keep up the good work! You will be in onederland before you know it.
  9. I agree with Betsy- you should call your doctor. A slight unfill is not the end of the world, doesn't mean you will go back to being hungry. You seem to be too tight for sure, a slight unfill could make all the difference in the world. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
  10. Sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello help me with cravings for something sweet.
  11. I weighed 129 this morning! I haven't seen the 120's since college. It really feels like a milestone. It took forever to get out of the 130's- experienced a couple of stalls. I am very short (4'11") so I still have about 20 pounds to go, but it feels like the journey is coming to an end. My original goal was 120, now it's 110. I have lost 88 pounds so far.

    In the 120's!

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback! jen36- I was banded Nov. 16th 2009, so it has taken me about 8 months to loose 88 pounds.
  13. I eat nuts (almonds- 1/4c is a serving) and lowfat cheese sticks for snacks. Low carb protien shake may also work. I love perfect portion chicken by perdue- they are marinated chicken breasts- individually wrapped. I just through the pack in the freezer and take one out at a time. Also marinated- is lean porkloin. It comes in a variety of flavors- I like the honey mustard and peppercorn. It's easy to cook- just open and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes. Also- the more veggies the better- and they will help with fiber. Hope these ideas help and congrats on starting a wonderful journey!

    Exercise Goals #2

I did 40 minutes of walk/jog on the treadmill. Also worked out with my trainer- back and chest. She always kicks my butt lol.
  15. My reccomendation is to increase your cardio from 2 days a week to 4 or 5 days. That will really speed up weight loss. Also, are you working the same muscles on the total gym every night? If you are, I would stop that for sure. My trainer says muscles need at least 24 hours to recoop before you work them out again. Congrats on what you've done so far and good luck!
  16. Sounds like what is affectionately known as slimeing. It is not good, but not unusual. It may have been the drink. Be carefull of carbonation, also drinking calories is not ideal. I don't drink anything with calories except a protien shake at breakfast. Best wishes!
  17. I was told 15 minutes, every doctor is different. It's my understanding the no drinking rule is too keep the food in the pouch longer. In that vein, I wait about 1/2 hour before I drink anything. It takes a little getting used too.
  18. Hang in there, restriction will come. When I first got the band I thought it was never going to work. After 3 fills, I had some restriction. As far as aches and pains, I would talk to your doctor about them. Doesn't sound like your band slipped. When that happens you can't keep even water down. Good luck!
  19. I hope the 5th fill is it! Just know that it will happen. Hang in there!

    I can't wait!!!

If you swallow gum with the band it's bad. That is why some say no gum chewing. I do, but am careful.
  21. Many people are frustrated at the beggining. It usually takes a few fills to get restriction- it took me 3. For the first 2-3 months I felt like I had nothing done. Hang it there! It will happen! Keep us posted.
  22. I believe it is pretty difficult to stretch your pouch, the stomach has a lot of give to it. I am pretty sure the soup didn't do it. Good luck on your journey!
  23. I think it is a diet in that there is an eating plan to be followed. At least I have a plan, sounds like most others do as well. My plan is high protien, low carb and low fat. I realize I will need to eat this way for the rest of my life. Some days I go through feeling deprived, but overall it's not that bad.
  24. I would call the doc. office and tell them about what's going on. They should be able to tell you what the next step is.
  25. HappyMe2009 Please don't give up. You made a decision to better your health. Now you just have to follow through. Restriction will come! Go to the doctor and get a fill, this one could be it. Don't beat yourself up about the past- just move forward. You can do it!
