  1. love wendy's chili. It's probably higher in carbs then I like to think, but a good fast food option in my opinion.
  2. Your right, different docs have different procedures. I was on full liquids for the first week and then mushies for a week, then regular food. I had no problems. You may want to call the office and see what they say, you will probably speak to a nurse. As far as regularity, I used milk of magnesia, worked great. If you were taking pain pills that may be why you are having a problem. Congrats on your surgery!
  3. I second the EAS carb control shakes. They are not super delicious but not bad at all. Make sure you shake it and drink it cold. I get them at Walmart.
  4. Agreed, you are probably not taking in enough calories. Why not go back to what you were eating preop when you were loosing rapidly? Are you too tight to do that?

    Had A Major Discovery

I think you are right, start counseling now. You can learn healthy ways of dealing with your emotions. What you are feeling is perfectly normal. Congrats on your surgery!
  6. I would call the office and tell them what's going on. You will probably speak with one of the nurses. They can give you advice on the next step to take wether it's an unfill or trying liquids for a few days et.... Good luck and feel better soon.
  7. Sounds like you need a slight unfill. Throwing up everything is not good. Also you will not loose weight eating pudding and ice cream. I hesitated to go in for an unfill several times and suffered needlessly. They may not need to take the whole fill out and you could end up "just right". Hope you feel better soon.
  8. For sure! They put saline in the IV that makes you retain some water. I know it's hard but try not to get on the scale every day. I weighed in once a week while I was loosing. Congrats on your surgery!
  9. Another point is that BMI is based soley on weight and height. It does not take into acount muscle mass. We all know muscle takes up less room on the body then fat. A lot of muscle will give you a higher BMI then if you didn't have that muscle mass and that weight was fat.

    Back On Track

That's awsome! Congrats on the new job. Hope you love it and are able to get on track with eating and excersise. Good luck!

    On My Way Home

Congrats on your surgery. Glad you are off to such a good start!
  12. Since you are so young, I think you have a chance of your skin bouncing back. I hope so!

    I Give Up...

I understand your frustration. The band wasn't the tool for me I hoped it would be. However I lost all my excess weight due to sticking with a program, despite lots of hunger. If you've really had it with the band, why not get the fluid removed rather than another surgery. I imagine you would get loose enough to eat chicken and such. Just a thought. Good luck!
  14. When I started loosing some hair I went to the dermatologist. He assured me i wouldn't go bald. He said your body goes into kind of a shock after rapid weight loss and that's why hair falls out. I never tried biotin and a few months later I was back to normal. It started about 5 months postop and ended about 3 months later.

    Went On Vacation

You lost 3 pounds- I think that's great. You just need to be a little more careful about what and how you eat. I think you did fine.

    Question

I have to say I disagree with docs who won't do a fill simply because the patient is loosing weight. If you stick to the plan, despite being hungry, you will loose weight. I agree with what was said above about being satisfied with a cup of food for 4 hours or so. If this is not the case for you, talk to your doc. about a fill.
  17. You should be fine. Especially if you are on meds for them, keep an eye on your blood pressure and blood sugar. Too low for either one and you can feel dizzy and even faint. Happened to me due to my blood sugar.

    Feeling Down An Out

Tough situation. Until you can get restriction back I would focus on eating the right foods, lowcarb/low fat/high protien. Even if your portions are larger then they will be with restriction at least you shouldn't gain. Excersise would be great too, if your doc. gives the ok. I wouldn't do it without checking with the office first. Don't know how working out would affect a slipped band. Good luck!
  20. Finally got my act together and had a good week with eating and excersise. Lost 4 pounds. I have gone back to eating low carb and working out twice a day. Feels great!

    8 Months Post Op

I have a trainer and love it! She really keeps me motivated. We recently started doing heavier weights and I am starting to see results. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn all day long. You can do it!
  22. That's great you are watching your carbs, I think it makes all the difference. Also, please try to find some time for excersise. It will wonders to get that scale moving again, never mind all the other many many benefits. You can do it!
  23. I wish my father felt that way. He makes comments out of love and concern. I have tried to tell him they are not helpfull but I think he just can't help himself. He is one of those reformed people that has become judgemental of others who do what he used to do. Don't get me wrong, I love him to death. Just wish he would mind his own bussinesse sometimes.
  24. I have gotten back on track with excersise and eating low carb. My appetite is way down. Some days I've gone to the gym twice- 45 min. on the treadmill each time. 4 days a week I workout with a trainer doing weights. I can't wait to post in a few days that I have had a perfect week- and might need to brag about a scale victory- there's hopeing lol.
