    Metabolism

Are you excersising? If you are,, your metabolism should be increasing. I am glad you have had continued weight loss. Keep up the good work.
  2. I had several sizes in my closet- hardly bought anything until I reached goal. Even then, I didn't buy a ton because I plan on having plastic surgery soon. I did give away clothes a friend gave me. I had resigned myself to the fact I would never be that small, boy am I proud to say I was wrong.

    repost: Blabber and concerns

I have swallowed pills since surgery with no problem. You will know if your band slipped because all of a sudden you can't keep anything down- I asked my doc. about it. Good luck on your journey!

    Question on Being Full

I was banded almost a year ago. I have never felt full for more then 3 hours or so. I have always factored in snacks into my daily diet. I lost steadily, now maintaining a 107 pound weight loss. I often eat 6 times a day. I snack on things such as beef jerky, almonds, cheese sticks. Good luck in your journey!
  5. I believe most deppressants take a month before an effect is felt. Sounds like you get your meds from your primary. You may want to think about going to a psychiatrist, hopefully you have insurance. They are experts when it comes to peoples moods. I also think bloodwork is a great idea.
  6. Excersise should help bring it down. Also a low fat diet, the fat you do get should be healthy fat- unsaturated. You get these from things such as nuts and avacado. Hope your numbers get better soon!

    Normal or Abnormal?

You may want to call your doc. and let them know what's going on. Just to be on the safe side.

    Third Week and Hungry

Hang in there, it gets lots better. Restriction will come and you will love your band. For now, I would focus on eating lowfat, lowcarb even if your portions are larger than they will be once you have restriction. Good luck and keep up posted on how your doing.

    Need Breakfast Ideas

How about oatmeal? I do a protein shake for breakfast, I am pretty tight in the morning.

    NSV, my favorite so far.

You go girl! Maybe it will be an offer you want to accept next time. Keep it up!
  11. I live in Port St. Lucie. Would love to get together with fellow bandsters. I don't know how to send private messages, but can respond to one. Would love to hear from you.
  12. I get at least 60gms a day. I am maintaining my weight. I eat lots of lean protein- chicken, fish, lean port loin, shrimp. I snack on nuts, cheese sticks, beef jerky.
  13. Hang in there- you should be feeling much better in a few days. Your band is so tight because of swelling, which will subside. Be prepared to get your appetite back. Most people need a few fills to get restriction.
  14. I would call and see if the doc. will do another fill sooner. I wish I had done that. I waited a month inbetween my first and second fills. I just didn't realize coming in sooner would be an option. Good luck!
  15. Awsome! Keep up the good work!
  16. If your doc. is willing to do it I would go for it. I had my first fill 6 weeks after surgery, that was my doc.s policy. I would have loved to had one sooner as my appetite came back just a few days post op.
  17. Sorry you are having a hard time. I sympathize with you. My experience has been I am hungry a lot and get a small fill. That small fill pushes me over the edge and I can't keep anything down. Now that I am maintaining I can eat more and have felt much more satisfied. I am afraid to get a fill. After the last 2 or 3 I have had to have unfills. It's an hour to the doctor and 146 dollars to boot. However, I am pleased with the success I have had. I think I expected the band to take away all hunger, and it just doesn't work like that. I disagree with the notion you shouldn't snack. I find they help me keep my hunger under control all day. I typically eat 6 times a day- 3 "meals" and 3 "snacks". My snacks tend to be just about as large as my meals. I eat lots of lean protien- sticking to a low fat low carb eating plan. I hope things get better for you! Good luck!
  18. I find low carb protein bars are great when I'm on the go. I like Atkins. Also, cheese sticks are another thing I pack. They are good for a few hours out of the fridge. I agree with nuts as well (almonds are very healthy- I eat 1/4c at a time). Beef Jerky is another option, lots of protien and very low in fat. Enjoy your trip!
  19. Hang in there, restriction will come. It took me 3 fills to get there.
  20. I would talk to your doctor about wether you need a fill. You may want to keep track of how much you eat and how long you stay full. This will help you and the doctor determine if you need a fill. Believe me, you don't want to be to tight, its miserable.

    3rd Fill

I think you are doing good. There may be some swelling, so you may get a bit looser over the next few days. Are you able to get in enough calories and protien? If you can't, I would give it a few days and then call the doctor if it persists. You don't want to be so tight you can't eat enough.
  22. Glad your fill did the trick. You may get looser in just a few days after swelling goes down- but you may not. The band will loosen with weight loss- so you will probably need more fills down the road. You should see that scale move!

    What to do???

I agree about calling your doc. However, I doubt your band slipped. My doc. said when that happens you suddently can't keep anything down- even water. Hope you feel better soon.
