  1. I agree with the advice to see a therapist. You have gotten healthy and your husband needs to see that. I wonder if he's a little jealous, now that you are more attractive to men. I would deffinately try counseling before thinking about a divorce. A good therapist should be able to help work out your issues. Hopefully your husband will agree to participate. Hope things get better soon! keep us posted.
  2. I slept lieing down from the beggining. I was able to sleep on my stomach. I would say just do what is comfortable for you. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Congrats on your surgery.
  3. You may have some swelling from the fill. If it doesn't get better over the next few days I would call your doc. and let them know what's going on. Good luck!
  4. I would stay away from the juice. It is loaded with sugar, natural sugar but still sugar. Other than that, your menu seems fine to me.

    No fill !!!

It is coming off fast! You must be doing all the right things. Keep up the good work!

    First Fill - Rescheduled

That was smart to reschedule, being too tight is miserable. I am glad to hear you are doing so well. Keep up the walking, excersise is so important. Best wishes!
  7. It's great you are so sure the sugery is going to work. I think that is the attitude you want to have. If you work the band, eating right and excersising, it will surely work. As far as excess skin, it's a matter of the elasticity of the skin. Once the elasticity is gone, it will hang. I don't believe there is excercise or topical stuff that will prevent it. I lost 107 pounds and am having plastic surgery Dec. 1. I am having a tummy tuck and beast augmentation. Next will be arms and face. I have some loose skin on the sides and back, but it doesn't bother me much. My thighs are also a little "wrinkly". Again, it doesn't bother me much. Congrats on your impending surgery. Best wishes!

    Mini-victory Today

Awsome! Shopping has been fun for me, and that's a great feeling. Keep up the great work!
  9. I have bi-poloar and was cleared for surgey. I am also stable on meds. I was upfront during the psyc. eval. She wanted to talk to my psychologist and psychiatrist. I think she was just covering all the bases. I also have addiction issues, I was upfront about that too. She warned me about addiction transfer. Her concern was that since I couldn't use food, I would go back to marijuana or gambling. This has not been the case. I was in therapy when I was banded. The counselor and I decided together I didn't need it anymore. Since you abloutely need to be honest about the meds, I encourage you to be upfront about the bi-polar. Since your stable, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Congrats on your impending surgery. You are making an important decision to get healthy. Best wishes!
  10. You are ablolutely right for sure. Refined carbs (white sugar, white flour) inhibit weight loss. They increase your blood sugar, which causes your body to produce insulin. The result is the sugar turning to fat. I stayed away from pretty much all carbs while loosing. Now that I am maintaining, I eat whole grains. They include things like brown rice, corn, sweet potatoes. I can't tolerate bread or pasta. If I did, I would eat 100% whole grain pasta and bread. Good luck on your journey!

    Happy Bandiversary!

Congratulations. You are doing great. I don't think 30 pounds in three months is slow at all. Like the poster above noted, that's 10 pounds a month. That is about what I lost a month, and I was very pleased with that. If you are satisfied with your meals/snacks and staying full for 3-4 hours inbetween, I personally don't think you need a fill. Of course, that's up to you and the doctor to decide. Keep up the great work!
  12. I don't like it when people comment on what I'm eating, in a positive or in a negative way. My father is famous for that. I know he's just trying to be supportive, and he is encouraging in many ways. He is always telling me how good I look. I have a good friend who misses going out to eat with me. I didn't really go out when I was loosing, now that I am maintaining I go out once in a while. We have found other things to do together such as movies and shopping. I would talk to your husband for sure. Let him know you need to just kind of do what you need to do without comments from him. You are in control of what you put in your mouth. Don't feel guilty about not eating certain foods, be proud of yourself for making healthy choices. I think you are right about developing new hobbies you can do together. Maybe dance lessons? You would be burning calories and spending quality time with your husband. Some kind of art activity like painting or pottery might also be fun. Another idea is just enjoying quiet time at home, maybe playing a game or two. Best wishes and keep up posted on how it goes.

    Tummy Tuck

I am scheduled for a tummy tuck- and breast augmentation Dec. 1st. I saw my sister go through it. She had tummy, breast and lipo. She was very out of it for the first 2-3 days. She went back to work, taking care of her kids and climbing 3 flights of stairs to her condo after 3 weeks. I am so nervous but also so excited about the surgery. You probably feel the same way. Keep us posted on how your doing.
  14. That's awsome. The milstones along the way are something to celebrate! Keep up the good work!

    Is my band too tight?

You probably have some swelling that will subside in a few days. If it doesn't- see your doc. for an unfill. Good luck!
  16. I talked to my doc. about it, and he said suddendly you can't keep anything down- not even water. Of course if you just had a fill, then that is probably why you can't keep anthing down. My doc. has said the band slips in only 1% of cases.
  17. If you can keep fluids down, your band probably didn't slip. You may have some swelling from the fill. Hopefully you will be better in a couple days. If not, I would stick to fluids until you can get into the doc. Hope you feel better soon!
  18. I can't eat eggs either- I miss them too. I tolerate cooked spinach with no problem, I cook it with some olive oil spray and garlic. Best wishes!

Fake it till you make it!?!

Are you excersising? That has been key in my weightloss. There are just too many benefits to pass it up. I also agree with limiting carbs, fat too. Good luck!
  20. Sorry to hear about your slipage. Hang in there, it will get better once you get fills again. In the meantime, I would focus on eating the right foods. Your portions may be larger than when you have restriction but hopefully you won't gain any weight. Hope you can start working out soon- that is so important. Keep us posted.
  21. Sounds like the problem is eating too fast, or not chewing enough. This does not neccessarily imply restriction. I would talk to your doc. In the mean time try to slow down and chew well.
  22. vlp1968

    First Adjustment

Just take things slow. Small bites and lots of chewing. Your first fill may not provide much restriciton, but I hope it does. Good luck!
  23. I was on medication for type 2 diebetes. After loosing some weight and eating low carb. I was able to get off the med. Same goes for my blood pressure and high choloesteral meds. It was very exciting, a great doctor visit.

    199.8!

That's awsome! Keep up the good work!

    Am I being greedy?

You are doing fine. You don't say how your eating or if your working out. If your not working out, start. It has been key for me in terms of weight loss. You will loose faster if you workout. Also I reccomend a high protien, low fat, low carb eating plan. Again, you are doing fine. These are just suggestions to speed things up a bit.
