  1. Awsome! It's great to hit a milestone like that. Keep up the good work!

    Still fill big?

It takes time for the mind to catch up to the body. The psychologist involved with my lapband office told me 2 things to do. One is to take a picture once a month. I do it in my bathing suit and it really helps me see my body changing. Also, save one set of "fat clothes". You should get rid of the rest because you'll never need them again. Hope this helps.
  3. Glad to hear life is settling down for you. Talk with your doc. and decide together what you should do in terms of a fill. Keep up the good work. Good luck!

    Sick to my stomach

I would call your doc. and let them know what's going on. You probably have swelling from the surgery, but I would call. It's not good to not be able to keep water down, yoiu will get dehydrated. Hope you feel better soon.
  5. You've already gotten lots of good advice. My 2 cents is to focus on the what your eating, and worry about portions when you have restriction. Eat low carb, low fat, high protein. I eat lots of lean protein, like chicken, fish and lean port loin. This should keep you from gaining and you might even loose a litt.e Best wishes!
  6. Sounds like you don't have restriction yet. I would keep working with your doctor to get you to that sweet spot you've heard about. As far as your eating, get in your protient- at least 60gms a day. Watch your fat as well. I eat lots of lean protien, chicken, fish, lean pork loin. I snack on berreis, low fat cheese and nuts. Are you excersising. If not, I highly reccomend you start. It sure works wonders for weight loss never mind the other benefits. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. Oh yeah, make sure you are getting at least 64 oz. fluids a day. Hope this helps and good luck.

    Eating for comfort

Realizing your eating because your angry is the first step in correcting it. I think you need to find something else to do that will provide comfort. Maybe yoga or a meditation tape. A nice workout might help too (once your cleared to excersisie of course). That's great you didn't give in. You are right in following your docs. post op diet. Keep up the good work and best wishes.
  8. Yes, reducing your carbs has probably reduced your appetite. Since your blood sugar isn't spiking and then crashing, your hunger stays at bay. Keep up the good work!

    A Bad food day

That's great you've gotten back on track! Everyday is an opportunity to make healthy choices. Don't dwell on the past, it's done and over with. Best wishes!
  10. I highly reccomend you start working out if your not already. It is key for weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. Also, be sure to get all your protien in, at least 60 gms. You also want at least 64 oz of fluids (caffinated doesn't count). I also ate very low carb and low fat while I was loosing. Lots of lean meat and non starchy veggies. Hope this helps and good luck.

    nervous about fill

My first fill was uneventfull. I don't remember how much it was. I felt no different, it took 3 fills for me to feel any restriction. I wouldn't hesitate to voice your concerns to your doc. but also listen to what he/she has to say. Come to a decision together. I don't think your pouch can stretch from a fill, that would take months of overeating from what I understand. Hope this helps and good luck.

    FILL(now feeling funny)

I would give it a few days. I have had lots of burping when I have been a little tight. You may have some swelling from the fill that will subside. If your not better in 2-3 days I would call your doc.

    What's the skinny????

You are doing just fine. 10 pounds without a fill is great. You'll be back to your workouts before you know it. I know how you feel, I had plastic surgery and had to take 8 weeks off. I couldn't believe how much I missed it. Good luck!

    food journaling

I would work on getting some veggies in, they are such power houses of nutrition- and so low in fat, calories and carbs. Have you experimented much? If you keep trying different ones you may find some you like, or at least tolerate. I buy green giant broccolli with cheese- it's only 60 calories a serving, I find it's worth the calories. I think if flavored veggies are the only way you will eat them you should. Just check the label and make sure it's not crazy fat, carbs or calories. Hope this helps.

    Ugh! Got a fill a week ago!f

I think May seems like a long way away. I would call and see how soon your surgeon will do another fill. Increasing fiber is a good idea, protien as well. Good luck!
  18. I agree with others that a once a week weigh in is probably ideal. That's what I did while I was loosing. I think it's just often enough. I also agree with the poster who said a daily weigh in when maintaining is probably good. Now that I am maintaining, I weigh myself every day. I try not to let the daily flucuations get to me, trying to stay within a 3-4 pound range.

    HELPPPPP

IMHO it's pretty tough to stretch your pouch. The stomach has lots of give to it. Hang in there, it will get better with restriction. Good luck!

    Day of the Surgery

Pillow is great for the ride home. You might want to bring chapstick. My lips got really dry becase I wasn't allowed to drink even water until the did a barium swallow. Congrats on your impending surgery!

    Coffee

My nutritionist said coffee was ok. Since I like her answer I am going with it- I am a coffee addict. Haven't had any problems.
  24. What a great feeling to fit into smaller clothes. Really makes you realize you are shrinking. Keep up the good work! Oh, and get rid of your "fat clothes", you will never need them again.
  25. You may want to call your doc. and see if you can advance your diet early. I was only on full liquids for one week, then mushies for one then regular food. I had no problems. It wouldn't hurt to ask. Hang in there!
