There would have been no escape from that monster. I suppose to you that its preferable for the woman to go through whatever personal hell/horror for 9 months, have the kid, and then kill herself, right? And, just for the record, I do have a wonderful 4 year old daughter and have a loving and supportive spouse, and A LIFE that is worth living - e.g., pay taxes, defend my country, and on and on....so - was it better for ME at THAT TIME IN MY LIFE AND THE CIRCUMSTANCES to have, as you say, "...killed that baby..."? I can answer unequivocally yes, yes, YES. and shame on you for trying to force your belief about conception, life, morality, etc., on anyone when you have no concept of what theyt are going through. -
Girl, I know how you feel about the whole goal thing = take pleasure in the fact that you are at the end of the INITIAL part of the journey, and relax!! It's all going to come together in the end, and 5 or 6 days on either side of that "magic" date aren't enough to stress over.... I am 14 pounds from my goal, and wanted to be there on my bandiversary. Well, didn't get there - and wasn't really due to lack of effort or focus - its just how my body has reacted. Ooookay, so my big 4-0 is 8 december, and that's my new goal date.... just breathe

Oh, damn, that sucks!! LMAO I didn't end up in Houston by choice...after 10 years in the Army (last 4 in Germany and Iraq) I and my hubby (both soldiers! go figure) decided to get out and we ended up in TX b/c my mom and sister moved here...and DH got into u of Houston to do geology...if not for that I would have headed right back home to MI. (me being a UM grad and DH not finishing his degree has made him a bit selfconscious -dumbass I still LOVE you- so here we be....) Neither of us love it here, but at least my daughter is getting to know her grandma and her auntie....TX is an okay state don't anyone get offended, but for us northerners its just not like home.... And, BTW - don't let anyone tell you that drivers in Houston are good - after being in Baghdad for a year, I can tell you where all those darn Arabs learned to drive - HERE!!!! :-) Bought a great "women's" bike, and am damn near afraid to ride it anywhere on the road due to the damn craziness...
-
I like NB shoes, too - I have almost flat feet and tend to overpronate, so they fit my style best. My hubby swears by asics...all shoes are good, really depends on if you overpronate, underpronate, are normal, high arch, low arch, etc. Asics are too soft for me; I need a firmer shoe...Nikes toe box is too narrow...you get the idea...
-
Love you guys! Man, if only Stevie Yzerman were still playing...*sigh* at least I have his signed jersey hanging outside my bedroom door courtesy of DH! SOmetimes I'll even ride the recumbant bike and watch my wings or UM on football saturdays.... I'm stuck in Houston and am missing the change of seasons back home in MI...although, its nice right now - have been waiting for DH to get back from active duty so we can go kayaking..for now, though, its just me chasing my almost 4 yo daughter and fitting in exercise when she's in school....
-
That's so funny - my hubby and I are like that, too....I burn more calories yelling at my TV when the Red Wings are on! LMAO

What do you eat near or at your goal weight?
TruBlueSue replied to neese007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm near goal, and I find that I eat pretty much what I lik, just smaller portions. I've really added exercise and am using that as well as protein supplements (I'm very tight in the morning) to adjust my calorie intake, as opposed to being on a dpecific "diet". -
You guys are so funny! I have had a BodyBugg for 5 months now, and don't you know, the sex/calories burned thing wasn't that big of a difference from the usual?? damn...lol I HAVE noticed though that the housework, etc., that Ido on a regular basis that gets counted just encourages me to be more active - even in the gym with the personal trainer, etc. I love my bugg....

I'm losing hair, and can't GET the doc to give me a fill....
-
Posting weight loss ... FINALLY !!! I've lost 2 pounds this week. Why does it seem to trickle to nothing and then BOOM - two pounds... Am supposed to go for a fill tomorrow - another FINALLY - haven't had one since October... Anyway - started challenge at 174.5. As of today, I'm 170.5. Guess slow is better than none.
-
Checking in early for weigh in - I've lost 1 pound. This is getting on my last nerve! My (banded!) fill doc won't give me a fill if I lost ANY weight between office visits; I go to see her again on the 7th. What sucks is I can eat a little of anything - and it must be that TOM, I am ccraving sugar and chocolate like nothing else!
-
TOM, as usual, you speak my mind before I can even formulate a coherent response.
-
GSue, you can speak for me. I have the utmost respect for the women veterans of your era; I had a lot of crap to deal with during my service; I'm sure yours was triple-fold what I experienced. And, as someone whose father served in Vietnam, I want to say to you two things... 1.) "WELCOME HOME!" 2.) Thank you for your service.

Saddam committed genocide against the KURDS, not the SERBS - they were in Bosnia...:faint:
-
I did and I realized that and there is no miscommunication or offense...No worries!! Was merely pointing out that the suffering brough on by BuSH and co is largely hidden due to service to country not being somethign that's universal.
-
The Islamists who want to destroy America came from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan - two of our 'allies' - no Iraqis aboard any of those planes. As for the US taking out Saddam b/c he commited genocide - again, the Al-Anfa'al campaign (as Saddam's kurdish campaign was known at the time) happened in the 1980's - HELLO- an excuse that's 23 years old? Justice in our country is required to be "timely". Our foreign policy vis-a-vis Iraq has been couched in "justice" terms - what about the timely part??? And if we are against genocide, what about Rwanda? Or is it just white genocide, aka Bosnia, and light brown, vis-a-vis the kurds? Black geocides and black antagonists need not expect the 'justice' that the US metes out when IT chooses?? Now I'm calling bullcrap - lack of consistancy = excuses. If we're gonna use this line of crap, at least be consistant! That's what our legal system demands - why should our foreign policy be anything less??:angry
-
TOM, I know you weren't point that at me directly, and no, I can't top that, except to say that my husband and I served in order to give something back to the country we live in. I too, lost my father - not in Vietnam in 1967-69, but here of untreated PTSD and alcoholism 35 years later. I do know something of loss from that and my armed forces service.
-
G-d I hope he does BY NOW.:omg:

As a veteran of the Iraq misadventure, I hold BuSh and his neo-con cronies personally and directly responsible for the deaths of some of the finest people I have ever known, and for my own disability. I have to deal with this, as does my veteran non-disabled husband and my three year old, for the rest of my life. This was and is not a case of what is known in hebrew as "ein brera", an existential war. This was started by a president (duly elected?) whose first thought was that of a toddler throwing a tantrum - "you didn't like my daddy, so I'm gonna get you..." I am proud to have served my country, and yes, I took on that obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion (as the oath of office goes.) However, I expected to be DEFENDING my country and the ideals that it stands for NOT embarking on a 21 century crusade.

I can back this up - Saddam was a Ba'athist first - a party wholly based on secular principles and aligned with Nasser's socialist political ideology. Both Shi'i and Sunni "islamists", in Ba'athist terms, are bad. And, if you think Saddam's demise has brought about the end of the Ba'athist ideology, think again - the Syrians are Ba'athists too.

count me in on the mexican holiday...I am so tired of bleary dreary days of rain...

I have never heard of the Holocasut referred to as "disposing" of anyone...am I just ignorant? :faint: And I've never seen references to Christians being "disposed of" for their religion. I HAVE heard stories of those who were killed for their political activism who happened to ALSO be Christian, but not merely from their professed faith or accident of birth.

Does any of this have yeast/levening? I'll give it up for Pesach!!(Passover)

AND Lisa, that's why most think of Muslims as terrorists almost in the same breath - they are the loudest and the scariest...
-
An aside to all - I apologize for posting a bunch of things at a time - I have a three year old and a cranky hubby who need and deserve my attention when I am at home, so I had to sign out last night and sign back in this morning between work calls...lol
