What's the MPG on Your Car?

I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix XR - which uses the same chassis/engine as the Corolla, and I get ~38MPG in the city and 41 highway - but (BIG BUT) I do almost exclusive highway miles, and its a 5 speed manual...

Hooray - i've lost three pounds!! Add this to my running total, MOM...<grin>
  3. Hi - I bought this and loved it - got all the sample sized protein paks, so I could tell what I liked and didn't before buying the 2pound jug...the book is more for rny patients than bandsters, but had some good recipes...price didn't seem too bad compared with others I shopped...try it! You'll be glad you did.

    All Ladies please help

I was in the middle of my 'monthly' issue when I had my surgery - it wasn't even a concern....

How Much Time Do You Take To Eat ?

I did the whole chew chew thing (I thought) before I was banded ...yet, the time RIGHT NOW just after my first fill, is when I've realised I truly don't eat slowly, doin't chew thoroughly, and am having to learn this with the constant pb threat and PAINFUL trial and error...!! Three bites and I'm done...

    Fill 'Er Up....Git Er Done!

I had my first fill 10/6 - the doc wanted to put in 2cc's but I talked her into 1.8 cc's...I have totally good restirction now, but man, I can only eat about three tablespoons of anything and its all over. I haven't quite learned where that tippiong point is, so I have pb'd at least once a day since my fill...anybody else have this experience? I don't know if I'd rather eat more or have the restriction and the weight loss...feeling pretty glum about it all...

Chicken seems to go down well for me - but the biggest bumemr so far is that I can't eat hardly any beef - and that is my favorite protein!! Shrimp went down okay yesterday - three jumbo shrimp and I was stuffed!! (First fill on 10/6 - 1.8cc)

To fill or not to fill???

I just had my first fill 10/6, and can say that if I eat one more little tiny thing than the soft stop tells me to (my eyes are bigger than my stomach - LOL) I get that feeling...also - if I eat just about anything beef...get that flaming golfball from hell in the middle of my breastbone...

In prepping for the challenge I finally went over to fitday.com and started logging EVERYTHING that passes my lips...I discovered I am not as lo-cal as Ithought, but am averaging about 800 cals a day...still, with 2600 cals required to maintain, I figure I should be on target to lose 1-2 pounds a week... Now I just have to figure out the exercise thing...!!! :-/ I'm lazy at heart...

    Another Phony E-mail Refuted

LOL T.O.M - I always said that it would have to be "...part Jesus Christ and part John Wayne." My apologies if that offends anyone's sensibilities. When Bush said that "...G-d told him to invade Iraq..." I started to get really scared...psychosis coupled with political (and real) power on an unimaginable scale...andf, as to the Karl Rove question...BuSH needed someone who could play the role of 'enforcer" without the constraints of a sanctioned political office... Just a former soldier's opinion...LOL...I do have an BA and MA in political science, but darn it, its a middle east specialty not US...<grin>

    Governor Perry-What a liar

AMEN TO THOSE who are Dems marooned in Texas - here's another one...I have one of those W stickers on my car - but instead of saying "W - the president" Mine says "W - Wrong" And the other says god bless our troops - god forgive George Bush In Houston,

    Another Phony E-mail Refuted

I read all of these posts thoughfully, and have decided that I MUST be a traitor...I got out of the Army after 1 tour in Iraq (my husband did 2 and got out) because I couldn't agree with Bush's reasons for the war after being there and seeing those refuted ...I was a translator, so I got to hear the 'man on the street' EVERY day I was there... " if you disagree out loud with the official government policy are you a traitor. Of course patriot was defined as going along with BuSh." :faint:

    September Bandsters

The first 6 weeks are for healing - not weight loss - BUT - anything you loose right now is a bonus! Don't get discouraged. I just had my first fill 10/6 and up 'til then, I could eat just about anything...even pizza!! (yes, I'm suitably chagrined) Since the fill, though, I can only eat about three tablespoons of food at any one time...it gets better - for now, eat bandster portions, and if you're hungry, eat!!

OK I need help-I finally Quit.

Congrats! I too stopped smoking - its been almost two weeks...and I did it b/c I wanted to not have to worry about the biggest "co-moridity" of them all...I used zyban and even with my first fill on Friday, I am still able to take that...have a couple of weeks left of taking that to make sure the cravings are totally gone...i admire you so much for dealing with your cravings like you are...i am such a wuss - I knew I wouldn't be able to do it that way, so sought out the Rx help...

    Waiting for my first fill....

Hi - I was banded 9/1 and finally got a fill 10/6 - I was starving all of the time and wasn't losing anything.... I did go to a different doc than my surgeon - and she was so great that I will go to her for everything!! How happymaking is that? She has a band, is a family doc, and was taught by Dr, Spivak in Houston how to do fills, so its all just a huge bonus...PLUS - if that wasn't great, she is only 10 minutes from my house!!!! 1.8cc fill in a 4 cc band 10/6/06
  21. Got my first fill Friday...1.8cc in a 4cc band...
