  1. You look ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Such an inspiration...
  2. Thanks everyone for sharing...this forum is great. I'm doing MUCH better now that I'm like 5 days into my pre-op diet. The beginning was just a lil hard! :welcome: Had a few moments of tearing up recently thinking about what a HUGE change this is going to be and kinda worried now that I'm 10 days till "sleeve day." I still think about how there IS a risk of death doing this, like any other medical procedure...and that thought alone is like "GULP"...but I think that's just jittery nerves too and that everything is going to be all right...That's my mantra..."Everythings gonna be all right"
  3. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old. Oh...wow...no lifting over 10 pounds for 6 weeks may be an issue for me. My son is about 20 lbs and my husband and I work opposite shifts so I will need to put him to bed and carry him up and down the stairs. Uh oh...this is going to be a problem. My parents have our children for the first week but after that I'm kinda on my own. Eeeeeeeek!
  4. Hi! I saw a pic of you with Naples FL as the caption. Do you live in Naples? I do! So I was wondering~ :)

HI! I don't know if you remember chatting with me...but remember how we were talking about the sleeve? Well I think that I decided to go with that procedure instead...and I wanted to THANK YOU...I don't think I would have considered it had we not discussed it. :) I'm scheduled with Dr. Jose Rodriquez on March 12th. Hope all is well with you!!! <3 Tina

  7. Good luck with your surgery! I'm being "sleeved" on March 12th and am very nervous!! It seems like the doctor that you're going to--Dr. Aceves right?-- is very popular...how much--if you don't mind me asking--does he charge? I've chosen Dr. Jose Rodriguez but I'm just wondering for comparison. :):) Tina

  8. Hi!! I'm Tina and new to this forum. Good to see that those of us who have chosen to walk down this road have support and for that I thank you all in advance!! :001_smile: I'm scheduled for the 5th of March with Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Juarez. (My insurance, unfortunately, excludes any bariatric surgery so I'm traveling to Mexico.) Have any of you had him as your surgeon or have heard anything? I've researched and researched to the wee hours in the morning but it's best to hear first hand. My best friend had gastric bypass with him and has done wonderfully but the more input the better!!! Another Q I have is does it really take 6-8 weeks for a passport??? if so I'm in TROUBLE and need to get on it! :001_huh: If you're reading this I'd like to hear your "sleeved" story of what to expect...the good and the bad!!! Lay it on me!!! :001_tongue: Have a great week!! Thanks!!! Tina
  9. Hi! I'm also on the fence about 2 surgeons...Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Rodriguez...at this point Dr. Rod is almost $3,000 cheaper. The plus about Dr. Rod for me too is that my best friend have bypass surgery with him and she just thinks he's FANTASTIC! She raves about him and his staff and how great the hospital was...so for having someone near and dear to me with personal experience with the Dr. that's a plus. I read alot about Dr. Aceves on this forum however...I am just going to keep on RESEARCHING!!! And hear what other people have to say too~! Let me know your thought please!!!
  10. Hi!! I'm thinking of getting banded in mexico too. Where are you going and who is your surgeon if you don't mind me asking? :) Tina
