Congrats on your surgery, glad to hear it was smooth sailing for you. The food battle is still on for me. There are good days and bad days. It all seems so silly when I think about it. But I miss bread. I am, however, to be off my liquid diet and onto REAL food. It really help talking to someone who understand. Where my husband is wonderfully understanding, there are somethings I just cant get through to him. He has even tried to do the same diet as me (as support), but we have always had a little joke that we are the "Slim Quick" couple. You know the one where they diet together and he drops 30 lbs and she looses a size in her bra. Yeah thats us.
So please keep in contact and update me on your progress. Good luck!

I would say on a scale from 1-10, I was about 1 4-5. It was very manageable and I really didn't use much of the pain meds prescribed. But please feel free to lean on me for extra support, I check my message board a few times a week. Good luck with your Medifast, I actually didn't have to do that part. So I hope it all goes smoothly, the nutritionist is easy and I found it really interesting.

I was banded Dec 29. It all went pretty well, The surgery was a breeze and recovery was no big deal. I had a bit of time (when I was on all liquid) that I really missed food. I've never been a major over eater, but I really missed some of the comfort & happiness that food brought. In the first 1-2 weeks I dropped 12lbs. Things got easier once I got onto more regular foods. But then I worried because in my 3-4th week I hit a plateau & lost nothing. That period seemed to last forever. I have since dropped 3 more lbs, so I feel more optimistic.

Congrats on your up coming surgery. How do you feel?
I think you will do well. I had planned on getting the surgery after the new year. But I was notified on the 27 that my ins was due to change after the new year, so I would have to get my surgery before the 30th. So I had no time for the preop procedure and not a whole lot of time for mental prep. So I think if you are really prepared for it, things should be easier. I once told my husband that I think it was harder on my mental psyche than on my physical body.
So how exciting for you. Do you have people there to help you through things? Feel free to ask or comment on anything. I am an open book & appericate the support as well. Good luck!
