First, you will know when you PB....a mouth full of spit that you cant hold down...and have to spit out. As long as you are feeling OK while eating...no PB and nothing feeling like its coming up your throat you AND you are losing...you are OK. My friend is 8 monts post and have never PB and she is 80+ down....

Has anyone ever had the saline taken out of your band? I have a 10 day business trip to Costa Rica and I am nervous about going with my current fill. Its a work related trip and no one going is aware that I have had surgery. I tend to get nervous eating with people who don't I am banded which makes eating even more of a challenge. And I am worried about what type of food we will have since I am not in control. I called my dr and he said I could have the saline removed before my trip and put back in once I return. Has anyone does this?

I usually do that..."oh, I am not that hungry or I had a big breakfast"...but since I am going to be with the same people for 10 days..., morning, noon and night, I don' think I can have an excuse for that long. I got my last fill in Jan 08...but for some reason I has been really tight for the last 3 weeks...I think its stress. And I know the trip is going to be stressful work, so I am just worried.

I was banded in 06 and had extreme gas pain for about 2 weeks post op. The heating pad and a vibrating massage pillow helped....it lasted for about 3 weeks. However, ever since my surgery, I get the same left shoulder gas pain about 1 a month...around the time mother nature visits.....nothing seems to help except time.

I seem to be Productive Burping after the first couple of bites of food at every meal. Is this normal? I had my 2nd fill on 11/20/06 and this issue didn't start until 2 weeks ago. Can PBing cause the band to slip??

I keep hearing that too..it takes longer if you have less too lose. Not too comforting. My starting BMI was 32.7 and now is 30.6. Its a slow process, but I am hopeful it will speed up soon.

I am 3 days post op and have MAJOR pain in my left shoulder. I know its the CO2 gas, but will it ever stop? I have been walking every hour for about 5-10 minutes. It seems to hurt worst when I am walking and only get some relief when I lay directly on my left shoulder. Can anyone provide suggestions??? How long will this last????

I have been taking Gas X every chance I get. Doesn't seem to help my shoulder though.

Thanks for all the info. I have my surgery scheduled with Br. B on Thursday, 9/21, and have been a ball of nerves for the last week. This posting really helped
