Anyone get a fill during pregnancy?
losethemess replied to lauragshsu's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
It's a myth that it's ok to eat more while you are pregnant or that you need to eat more. According to research you should only be consuming 300-500 more calories when you are pregnant. It really all depends on you BMI. Coming from someone who gained wayyyyy to much during her first pregnant (over 50lbs to be exact) be congnicent of what you eat and the effects of what you eat. You'll pay for it later. You should be drinking for two not eating for two. Your water consumption should increase your calorie should only increase slightly. -
The last part..... Does your trainer know you had the lapband surgery? So that he/she can take that into consideration when choosing or creating a cleanse for you.

I did the Master Cleanse although I initially lost 11 pounds I gained it all back plus an additional 5 pounds. The problem with cleansing is that it's difficult to stick with. If you veer off track the reprecutions are weight gain. Once I got back to high Protein and exercise I was fine. I guys it depends on the type of cleanse. If it's healthly ( master cleanse isn't the healthiest cleanse out there) then go for it. As long as you are prepared to stick with it go for it. The other problem with cleansing is that lapbanders can't eat certain foods that may be on the cleanse. Like certain fruits or vegatables. Does your tea. M v

You mentioned that band slippage can be pain, not necessarily. I think you're hesitant about getting an x-ray, which is understandable it's expensive. I honestly think your doctors office is to blame a little for your problems. My Nurse practitioner filled my so slow. Only 1 cc at a time at first after 6 cvs only .2 ccs every 4-6 weeks. Maybe they filled you too quickly. This back and fourth shouldn't happen. An experienced lapband office should know at what rate to fill patients. You also need to really sit down and figure out if you really are doing everything right in order to be successful with your band. You say you eat whole grain and vegetables. Whole grain are carbs and extremely hard to get through your band. Veggies are the same. Protein, protein, protein. My nutritionist said the only thing the band is really meant to restrict is protein. Start logging what you eat and when you eat, go a support group like someone suggested, watch YouTube videos they are so extremely helpful. Make sure you are always eating protein first. I really never feel full. Restriction for me means if I eat one more bite of that chicken, tuna or fish I'll vomit. Restriction doesn't means full ever. I really restrict my self. Be 100% honest with yourself. Are you exercising eating the right portions? Good Luck

1. Stop running from the camera. I hated taking pictures I was looking through old photo albums there are like 5 pictures of me in the last 5 years. 2. Run a 5k ( i really mean run not walk..... ok maybe jog) 3. Fit comfortably in a seat on plane without having to raise arm rest to feel comfortable. 4. Wear shorts ( not capris I hate capris) 5. Wear a one piece swim suit without the ugly shirt or board shorts

Goal Weight Met! Some advice from a bandster.
losethemess replied to dert's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
# 2 is SOooo true. As long as I make good food choices and eat the correct amount I continue to loss weight. Exercise has helped me tighten and tone but food has changed my life less is more. -
I workout out with a small group of women. It's motivational not a lot of pressure and fun. Try a bootcamp or group workout. Also try eating something light like an orange or tomatoe. My nutritionist recommend I eat one of those 30 mins before my workout to give me energy.

Looking for suggestions/help
losethemess replied to Banded in Boston's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Almost 30 lbs in 3 months is awesome. You are losing on average 10lbs a month, which is approximately 2-3 lbs a week. I suggest weighing yourself daily to keep better track of your weight loss and gain. Don't worry as long as you are doing what you are supposed to do, you'll loss weight. Good luck, stay encouraged and you'll be fine. -
ARETHA FRANLIN, honey ya had some type of bariatric surgery. Please keep it real and stop denying the truth

Lightheaded & Nauseated during workouts
losethemess replied to MaggieB's topic in Fitness & Exercise
If you are dizzy I don't think you are consuming enough calories, in order to do this type of workout. Don't beat yourself up and don't be embarrassed. I'm to chicken to even try it. Ohhhh my goodness, good for you!!!. Crossfit is the most intense cardio workout I've seen. I just heard about it a few weeks ago, I did a google search and say a video of it, it's the definition of intense. It seems more intense than p90x and Insanity. I just went for a fill last week and was talking to the nurse practitioner who does my fills. She said she had a patient who had to have an unfill because of the same problem you are experiencing. Apparently you need to increase the number of calories you are eating because you are burning such a huge number of calories. Electrolytes (Poweraid and Gatorate), will not be enough besides they are full of sugar, unless you get the zero calorie. You need to increase your caloric intake. Sounds scary, but that's what the nurse practitioner suggested. Talk to your crossfit coach and ask about the number of calories you should be consuming in order to maintain energy to complete the workout. I'm curious about what you find out. I was told by my trainer to increase my potassium intake, to stop dizziness and fatigue. He suggested a potassium pill or tomatoes. I don't suggest bananas because they are so high in sugar and carbohydrates. Good Luck -
Try Adora, calcium melts, uhhhmmmmmm they are so yummy. These suckers don't even taste like calcium they taste like Hershey's chocolate. No chalky aftertaste, nothing but creamy goodness.

losethemess replied to KikstersRT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure is what my nutritionist recommends along with Nectar protein( found at Vitamin Shoppe ) To me Isopure is too foamy. Nectar is much better.I recently ordered some Injury I hear that's pretty good. -

Congrats Sprinkles, you're awesome. Dman, you are so right and you bring up a great point. I was banded on 08/16/2010 I've lost 24 lbs, but DAMMMMM I'm hungry. I'm just doing this through shear will power. If I go to my next appointment and my doctor says "Ohhh you're doing great no need for a fill, I going to be upset, to say the least." Sprinkles, do you feel like you have restriction? If you do that's great, but like Dman said be prepared to possibly need a fill at some point. I've heard that some people never need a fill, but that's hard for me to believe and makes no sense. Once your swelling goes down from surgery your stomach is back to the same size it was pre-surgery.

What is happening to me?????????????
losethemess replied to tab1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tab, please call you doctor and see what's up with that pain in your chest. I have no idea what it could be, but I'm sure your doctor can help. I was banded on 08/16/2010. I've always loved to eat and I still do. Now I just try to choose healthier options. I've fallen off the band wagon several times in past 28 days, (Yep already) I'm back on track and down 24 lbs since starting the pre-op diet. I totally understand what you mean when you say you don't like to cook, but you have to. One piece of advice I can give it to start cooking your own meals. There are not alot of healthy Fast food options available unless you want to eat salads everyday, I know I don't. If you cook, you have much more variety in you food options, you can make the food healthier, you save money, the food tastes better than fast food and you can cook large amounts so that you always have food available when your hungry. There's nothing worse than being hungry and not having anything to eat. There are some simple things that you can cook. Every morning I make scrambled eggs with "I can't Believe it's not Butter" spray. It's 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 carbs and unfortunately 0 Protein. I drink a protein Isopure protein along with my eggs, for lunch I'll have whole wheat Pasta with the canned sauce and for dinner maybe a tuna salad. Very little cooking required with these meals. Below is my typical grocery list Grocery List Eggs I can't Believe It's not butter spray Tuna Creations-Herb and Garlic-assorted flavors Kroger-Carbmaster Yogurt Muscle Milk Isopure Protein powder Skim Milk Raw chicken Tenderloins Hummus-Roasted Red Pepper Carrots Salad Grapes Strawberries Shrimp Zattarains Shrimp and Crab Boil Mixed Vegetables-Green Beans, broccoli Crystal Light Whole Wheat Pasta Spaghetti Sauce Hope this helps
