Poked 3 times and finally a fill! (sorry beachbunny)
Rierie882 replied to jingleboob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had a horrible fill experience, both the doctor and the nurse kept apologizing becuase he couldn't find my port. Now I am sore, bruised and swollen--good thing I am not ready to break out my two piece swim suit yet  During my previous fills he located the port on the first shot. I am at 3.5 now and i am also hoping that this will be my "sweet" spot or something close to it...Good Luck -
First time throwing up oooooweeeee that was the worst.

I had a similar experience today, only mine was from a turkey sausage flatbread (pls note I didn’t eat the flat bread just the turkey sausage egg white) and I must have eaten too fast or the egg was too compacted because it got stuck after 3 bites. I agree it was a horrible experience and I never want to experience it again. -
honw long does it take to actually start losing??
Rierie882 replied to dragonflylover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so grateful that I found this discussion. I havent lost any weight for the last couple of weeks. I have been very discouraged because I have been exercising 6 days a week, my portions are much smaller than what they were before. I do find that I have to have two small snacks (a cheese stick or a yogurt or applesauce) because my blood sugar drops...I have my first fill tomorrow. -
I was banded on January 8 2010 and feel the exact same way. I am tracking my food intake very carefully and exercising 6 days a week. I am weighing myself everyday *sometimes twice and I know its a bad idea* I am just very worried about gaining back all of the weight that I have lost. So far I have very little restriction, but I get my first fill on February 25...am petrified that I am going to gain weight since my last appointment.

How long off work?
Rierie882 replied to finding me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on January 8 2010, so I took Friday off for surgery and went back to work on the following Monday because I work at an accounting office and sit behind a computer all day as well. I did leave early on Monday around 3pm, but that was it...my first week after surgery i worked 38 hours. I felt fine, a little tired but nothing too bad. -
Surgery 1.20.10 and scared!!
Rierie882 replied to tamra.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Jan 8th 2010 and I can tell you that I was very scared as well. However I am glad that I did and I dont regret anything. Be strong and dont listen to what others have said because until they have walked in your shoes through your weight loss struggle then they dont know how you feel. I too had people telling me not to do it and now that I have they continue to make some comments but I just continue to tell myself that I got banded to please myself and get healthy not to please them! Stay strong you are on the right path and your journey is just starting. Change is scary for everyone but then again so is the possibility of a shorter life span because of health issues... good luck and if you werent nervous you would not be human! -
just banded on 01/07/2010........
Rierie882 replied to NouraShuman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just banded on Jan 8 and I feel the same way, I have read and reread all the informational packets that I have received and I am still not sure what exactly I am suppose to be doing. So far I have been drinking about 40 ounces of regular or flavored water, at least one protein shake and I have been trying to get some broth down as well. I have taken a couple of spoonfuls of jello but thats it... -
How long did it take before you got surgery date
Rierie882 replied to Lois 123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My consultation appointment was on November 9 2009 and I will get banded on January 8 2010. It was frustrating at times because I am on a tight timeline, I work at a tax and accounting office and didnt want to get to have to wait until May to get banded. -
My surgery date is January 8 2010 and I am getting very nervous. Initially I lost 13lbs to qualify for the surgery but the last week with Christmas and New Years, I let myself enjoy some of the food but kept my portions to a minimum. I think I would have been fine but then I got sick and have not been able to do much of a work out at the gym, I still have been walking for 1 hour a day but thats about it. Long story short I fear that I may have gained some weight back. I am both nervous and excited about this new avenue in my life. I am ready for a change, I am a little nervous about the recovery but I have read a lot of other post on here and everyone seemed to do ok.
