  1. I am post op by almost 3 years now. I lost my first 100 pounds all within the first year. In may 2008 I hit my Plateau. This is now June 2010 and I have not lost one more pound. I have maintained my current weight now for just over two years. Is this normal? I don't know. I ahve asked my Dr. the Nurses, everyone and I was told that this is the end of the road for me. I cannot believe that or begin to understand why this has happened. I have always monitored my food, my fluids and yes my protein shakes as well as all the protein and I don't lose the weight. Do I exercise? well yes I do and I even dance (Zumba) and what ever ese I can get myself into these days. I cannot and will not believe that this is my end in weightloss for I am still about 40 pounds over weight. I am very frustrated. I ahve had my fill of adjustments. I ahve been filled and then un filled due to problems and I was last filed in March of 2010 and as of two weeks ago I had to have one cc taken back out. Why this happens to me I don't know. I wish I could have a revision doen because I have had so mmany problems. From PB, night reflux, vomiting and even pain when swallowing, hoever I am no longer having those issues. I really wish i would have had the bypass done or another procedure. I guess I am at a loss here as most of you are too.

    Restriction depends on your size?

here is one for the record. I was banded in 2007 I ahd to be filled and unfilled and then refilld due to reflux. OIn march 2010 I ahd a fill 0.25 I ahve a 10 cc band the Dr. said I ahd 5 cc's, well I ahd to change Dr's due to new health insurance so I found a wonderman Dr. he and I went over my medical records twice and on the day of my first fill with the new Dr. he seen that I had the 10cc band and that I ahd 5 cc's fill but he was shocked to see that I actually had 7 ccs in my band, he again went over my records and yes I seen the 5ccs from March 2010, he had me raise up a bit to see the syringe and well yes 7cc's of fill not the 5ccs as recorded. He told me that it was no wonder that my band did not rupture for this could happen due to how many times I was poked with needles filling and un filling and refilling and it was a lot too! I have lost 118 pounds and maintained my weight the same weight for 2 years, I cannot lose any more weight and i will gain about 3 pounds and lose it but never anymore. I am not over filled nor am I tight, I do feel my restriction and I ahve no reflux I get hungry but it will passs quickly. I eat small portions and exercise like a maniac, walking and running and well I can't drop a pound below 180. I wear a size 8/10 misses my BMI is now 28 hmm so is my waist size come to think of it. What am i complaining about> well according to my weight scale, my height 5'3 1/2 and the BMI I am still considered obese. I just want to lose the goal weight which was always 145 pounds for me but i am stuck, stuck for two years this month any ideas out tehre, Been thinking about the HCG diet

    Deep pain in pannus region

I have a panni problem too, my right side hangs lower than the left side and a great deal, really un balanced here. I ahve had so many surgeries in this area back in the 80's try 5 in 3 years, well anyway the other night when I was on the floor doing my crunches I startd rubbing this area like just feeling around and I felt a mass about the size of a orange on my right side, so I palpated it and it made me sick with fear, it could be old scar tissue that has built up or something worse and lets not go there, but anyway this mass sits in the pannis area so maybe the insurance co will cover this sicne the mass will ahve to be removed, food for thought any comments out there for i would like to ehar back sharrroc@aol.com if you would.
  5. I have been banded for 28 months now and I have neer heard anyone colmplain like this. Yes scar tissue does hurt as it grows but you should not have scar tisue from the lapband not this early, unless I read your message wrong. I caugh a lot only due to a recent cold and then the darn flu and my band area never hurt. I wonder what could be the problem and it sounds like the Dr. doesn't want to listen to her patient and that is just wrong. Wish you the very best and hope things work out well for you.

    Insurance paying for tummy tuck?

Carmen I thought yuou might have an answer on this one. I have a large pani but just on my right side, it hangs low and looks real bad on the other hand the left side is protruding a bit but nothing like the right side. I was diagnosed with having Lumbago last August 2009. I have had numerious episodes of lower back pain and at times to where I am not able to walk much less move. I have been in the maintenance phase for over a year now and doing rather well. I do get rashes but manage them on my own. I have blue cross/blue shield a basic plan that I am told is very good more so for weight loss surgeries and other things related to the weightloss surgies. It is a federal employees health plan (government) what is your take on the posibility that I might get approved due to the large un eaven panni and my Lumbago? please contact me at my home e-mail address. sa-schrum@yahoo.com Thanks so much Now panniculectomy (or a panni) is the removal of excess skin which may be medically necessary in some cases, such as in the case of the excess skin causing infections or ulcers. So, in this case the panniculectomy would be covered if you doctor recommends and insurance approves. An abdominoplasty (or a tummy tuck) is not only the removal of excess skin but also tighten of the abdominal muscles and lipo sculpture. This procedure is considered purely cosmetic and not covered by insurance. I hope this answers some of you questions.

    Panniculectomy appeal success!

I am covered under Blue Cross/Blue Sheild Federal Insurance Plan. I am in need of a tummy tuck and the panni thing. I do get rashes from time to time but never seen my Dr. about this. I always took care of it. I do have lower back problems called Lumbago and that the Dr. did put in my medical records. I also have a big problem with pain in the very lower spine area to where it hurts by just sitting down and when I get up to stand I ahve to go slow because of the pulling and the pain. I just wonder if I could get approved or not? I am over 2 years post surgery and I have lost my weight and I was told that I have been in the maintance phase for about 19 months. I lost my weight quickly and have kept it all off and I exercise daily. Any thoughts or ideas that might help me out. Thanks
