  1. Happy 44th Birthday KY-Raptor!

  2. Finally get to go for my first fill tomorrow. Last 3 appointments got snowed out. My appointment is in the afternoon, but what should I do and not do before the appointment. I plan on having breakfast so I won't be starving before the fill, but what should I do??:frown:
  3. My wife and I were discussing my band and she asked whether my progress was normal. I was banded on 12/30 and have lost between 15-17 pounds since the procedure. I go for my first fill in a couple of weeks. From everything I've read, I thought your progress up until the first fill would be pretty static and then progress after each successive fill. Anyone have any advice or info they can offer? Thanks.
  4. I'm almost a month out from surgery and am down 17 pounds. I've been very satisfied with my band and decision to have it done. I've read many things on here about sliming and wondered what exactly it was. Well wonder no more. I had my first 'incident' yesterday. I am totally at fault in the situation. I knew as soon as I had eaten that last bite that it was a bad idea, but usually I can walk it off. Are there any standard warning signs of this or is it just a one-by-one basis? I definitely don't want to experience it again.

    Awesome job!!!!!!

    Mmmmm

Finally I can have some soft foods!!!!!! I slowly ate a piece of string cheese with no problems and it tasted wonderful!!! Silly isn't it how 2 weeks with nothing but Protein shakes and Soups can make someone act! LOL I am down a total of 14 pounds (10 from pre-op diet & 4 since surgery).
  7. My Pepsi love came in the form of Diet Mtn. Dew. My biggest concern with going off of them was the loss of caffeine. I have never cared for tea in any form and was worried that I would have caffeine withdrawal as well as dealing with my new band. However, Crystal Light makes an Energy blend with a wild strawberry flavor. It doesn't taste as good as my old Dew, but I haven't had one caffeine headache yet. This stuff could very well be my saving grace!
  8. Thanks for the support! It means a lot to me. I'll be going back to work tomorrow for the first time since surgery so I am hoping to see an increase in activity level and get this journey started!
  9. I was banded 12/30. Lost 10 lbs. on pre-op diet, but when I sneak a peek at where I am now on the scales, it isn't showing any additional loss. I'm doing everything by the book, but its frustrating when you see others who were banded at close to the same time and yet they are melting away. I know I can't expect it to all come off at once, I just want to see the journey begin I guess. Ideas?? Encouragement??

    December Delights 2009

Hi guys and gals! Got my band on Dec. 30th. I have moved to the 'full liquids' portion of the diet. I am doing very well and the only problem I've experienced so far is some bloated feelings in the evenings but the Gas-X strips seem to be helping with that. Cheated by getting on the scale the other night just to see and was disappointed to see not much change since surgery day, but I know it will come. I am doing everything by the book so I know this will work!
  11. Hi. My name is Darren and I was banded on Dec. 30th 2009. Thus far, very few problems...soreness at incisions, but no nausea. I cannot wait to reclaim my life with the help of my lap band!
