  1. Pam, your doing great! Glad you got the weight loss going again! You may be the first in the Optifast but you will be the example setter! Chrissy, how are you today? I hope your yucky drainage is getting better--no more cooties! Cole, was that you that you that asked about how to put up a profile pic? I wasn't sure if that got answered or not; let us know if you still need it. Happy Monday!
  2. seriously? you can buy the needles on ebay? I guess ebay is a one stop shop for everything!! lol
  3. Chrissy, your doing better than me at that stage, I don't think I got in 24 oz of water for a couple weeks...it just hurt to much. I am hoping to come to the meeting Saturday; my sons grad party is Sunday so hopefully I willl be able to take break from party prep and come to the meeting. I wish I could stay for the lecture afterwards but I am just to busy..... Anyone bringing any 18/16 size clothes? I cleaned out my closet again today---I just love that feeling!
  4. Chrissy.... ((((huggggsssss)))) to you!
  5. John, 1 - 2 pds a week after 4 months is awesome! Dr. Park told me they are seeing patients lose like that for about a year! I did the same thing on lemonade--way way to fast! When its hot I get so thirsty so the tendency for me is to take a big drink of water or something and boy that hurts!! The other day I actully felt like I was drowning...the water got stuck! It was pretty scary.
  6. I did read somewhere that So Cal Kaiser was already phasing out the band....I can see that all the after care is hurting thier bottom line and Big Kaiser is not happy with that. Chrissy, I am so sorry you are having issues...are they mostly with that "thing" in your neck? I didn't worry about getting anything in my stomach for a couple weeks. So just drink what you can--small sips all day.
  7. Ash that is so awesome! That's a nice car! 9I need a green with envy smiley here) Cole, I live in Citrus Heights also...and I see the docs at the Riverside Kaiser....small world. We will have to get together for some walks. I like to go up to Roseville and walk along the trails behind Sam's Club...we will need to meet. As long as you don't mind old people--Im 48! lol I hope you all have a great fathers day!
  8. Tamara, Ash, Candra, Pam and all you other "losers" (lol)...you are doing great! This weather really helps and it if stayed like this we would all be so happy...not looking forward to the heat! Cole, I started here going for the lap band and then after doing research on all the boards switched to the sleeve. It's all a personal choice and each is good and bad for many reasons. I like Ash's idea of reading all the different boards...the good and the bad...none are perfect and go with your instict. Ask us all, we all love to share opinons.
  9. cole, how did your apt go today?
  10. Wow, great news on here today! Tamara, so proud of you...you really worked hard for that fill and its nice to see you rededicated to the journey! Congrats! April, you are doing awesome! It's nice to see you post on here, I have met you at group but don't see you on here that much. You did an awesome job last month sharing your story. I think Richmond will contact you once they get the referral. If I remember correctly it took a couple weeks... Keep happy everyone!
  11. Sherri, good luck on Tuesday. You really moved through the process fast--you only went to orientation in May? You're doing excellent on your pre-surgery weight loss. Keep up the motivation! Whoo Hoo!
  12. Pam, that is so awesome! It is such a good feeling when people notice. I now think about all the times when I noticed that people had lost weight and I never said anything...I should have said something because now I know how good it feels to hear that. You have worked hard and deserve the compliments! Hope Chrissy is doing good tonight! Who's up next for surgery?
  13. Thinking about you Chrissy! I know you will check in as soon as you can and give us all the details!
  14. Yeppers, finally hit the 60 pounds lost mark....I couldnt get past 59 for days.......that makes 27 pds lost since surgery on 4/26. Things are really slowing down in the weight loss but I recommitted to my excercise so I can try to keep it at at least 2 pds a week.
  15. Sixty!! Can you say sixty!!! 60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...60...Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!Sixty!!:sigh::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::tongue::thumbup::laugh::thumbup:

  18. Welcome Becca, I am in Citrus Heights and my surgery was in Richmond. I think there are a few SSF people here but most have been to Richmond and many from Sacto area. Have you come to support group? We meet the 4th Saturday of each month at the Kaiser on Point West. The group is for Kaiser and non-Kaiser and all surgery types. the next meeting is the 26th @ 11...hope to meet you there. Cleaning the closet is wonderful; I have had no issues with getting rid of the clothes and I have even had to hand me down clothes that were handed down to me...its a very rewarding feeling. Good luck with your pre-op diet; it worked good for me and I wish you sucess also.
  19. Hi Cole, I don't have small children anymore but I understand your concern. My second child was delivered by c-section and the orders for that were the same...nothing heavier than a phone book for four weeks...even though it was hard it worked...either my husband sat the baby in my lap or I would sit next to him on the couch or floor! Its just the lifting that's a concern. I forgot how old your daughter is but she can crawl up in your lap and she would probably have fun doing it! Go for it!

    November 2010, my highest weight

  22. Hi everyone, especially to all the newcomers that have joined us over the last couple weeks. So many getting ready for surgery--that is exciting. I have been celebrating my son's HS graduation this week and just got back from chaperoning his grad trip to Disneyland...a crazy fast trip but so much fun. Chaperoned 104 seniors--we left midnight Tuesday returned this morning at 7 am. I am so exhausted. Had dinner at the Blue Bayou, the resturant in Pirates. I had been planning that outing for a long time so I threw my food choices out the window but the good ol sleeve did its duty and didn't let me eat much but what I ate was supper yummy. I even treated myself to a scoop of ice cream. I hope that with the miles and miles of walking we did I didn't do any harm to weight. I will see in the AM! Graduation was the first time many of my family had seen me in a while and they were all very complimentary on my weight loss...it made me feel good. My goal was to be down 50 by graduation and I was at 58 pds total lost...Next year my other son graduates and I hope to be at my final goal weight by his graduation! We will see. off to catch some zzzzz's
  23. Hi Cole and welcome to the board. Congrats on seeing Dr Park soon; she was my surgeon and she is very good. I use the weight on orientation day as my starting weight and my weight loss is all from that weight. Where do you live and what type of surgery are you planning? Many on here have had the lap band but us sleevers are in here too! Wow, Nichole that sounds yucky! Nothing like a little pbing to get you back and track. Good choices! It was a hot mf weekend and my food choices have not been the best...having mommy anxiety with my oldest gradutating on Tuesday...he's been by my side for 18 years and it's really hard for me to let go. I need to get out of this sadness and get to the happy mode. TTYL
  24. Ash, I am so sorry you are dealing with that! Coughing with the incisions is painful so you must really be feeling it! I hope that with rest and more fluids this passes quickly. I had my post op apt yesterday with Dr Park. She was very happy with my loss and gave me glowing marks! She said that the wieght loss will slow down now but they are seeing sleeve patients continue to lose a pound a week for up to two years! Yeah, I had no idea that it could continue that long. I hope it does for me since I have such a big number to lose. Now that I have the go ahead I need to step up the excercise. Waiting to get started until after next week when my oldest is graduating HS. After graduation we get on a bus midnight for a Grad Trip to Disneyland, and I am chaperoning! I can't wait sit in a ride and fit! Last time I was there I was so uncomfortable. Welcome to the new people...lots of good info on here so stick around. Good luck to the ones approaching surgery.
