Hi! I have been reading your posts regarding switching to RNY, I think from you being in Amsterdam you probably see Dr.Singh. I'm having some band issues as well, I had a revision surgery (my initial surgery was in 04) in 06 and I have awful reflux at night and have had pneumonia twice. I'm nervous about Dr.Singh wanting to take the band out and also nervous about potentially switching to RNY, what has your journey been like?

It took about 2 weeks before the hunger really came on, and now its here full on *lol*
I'm trying hard not to gain too much before the RNY - the surgeon actually had the nerve to tell me you WILL GAIN WEIGHT so try not to gain too much, so I'm trying to prove him wrong, but at the same time I'm trying to enjoy eating things I know I may not tolerate after the RNY (like chicken and steak!)
How is everything going for you??

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear you are also having issues with your port. My port kept flipping on me, so I finally insisted on the revision to RNY. I have to say the recovery after having the band removed I feel SOOO much better. The recovery time was really quick too. Within a week I was off all pain meds.
Now I'll be having RNY done on 2/23 and I can't wait

Hi there
Wow our stories are similar & I am thinking about converting to RNY. My port site is poorly placed & has been painful from the get-go. I havent lost but 9 lbs in 7 months. I dont think mine has ever worked properly. I'm looking for a new surgeon. I hope your removal went well & good luck w/the bypass.
