Hello my fellow Marchies! So here we are - almost 6 mos out for me! I've never regretted getting my band! It hasn't been an easy journey for me, and since being banded I've lost between 18-20lbs depending on the day. Before my band though I lost over 50lbs, so in all here I am a year past my starting on the band journey (Actually TODAY is a year since I started) at 317lbs! So I've lost just about 75lbs in a year! So while I may not have lost much since the band in total I've still done great, so I take my victories as I can

Oh Pamela, how frustrating for you. I agree - there is a special place in the cosmos for teachers! I hope your TA's get smarter -

I know, I did get really lucky. Although I think I had a lot of people pressuring the woman who hired me to choose me over a stranger I can't image how they could do that Jennifer! That is unbelievable! -

Hey ladies! I've been MIA the last few months. I really need to make sure I log in here more often. Its helps keep me accountable. I've stalled on weight loss, and I was supposed to get a fill on 9/4 but when I went to my appt (I had 2 scheduled) found out the surgeon was out of town, so no fill. So Tuesday I go and get a fill which I hope will finally give me some restriction. I have a stomach bug tho and haven't been able to keep solids down since yesterday, so today I'm doing liquids. Just hope they stay down (Yesterday I found myself getting sick 6-8 hours AFTER I last ate) -

Ok, I'm going to come out of lurk mode and ask to join this group too Jennifur and I are band-buddies here in Upstate NY so I have been keeping up with you all since she had her surgery and I posted about her coming through with flying colors. Jenn, don't feel bad about having your coffee. I don't think the caffeine is as big a deal as carbonation is - and I have to admit I've had a few sips of coke when I've gone out to eat with Randy My name is Melissa, I'll be 33 on the 19th, and I've lost 75ish pounds since September 7th. Since my surgery 3/21 I've only lost 18lbs, but I know I haven't been making the best food choices lately. However I'm back on track now and being inspired by you lovely ladies -
All the pics look great! I'll post some 4 month pics on the 21st

Carol, don't feel down on yourself about the weight loss. My weight loss is since September, and since the surgery I've lost less than 20lbs

I've felt the same way about the posting. Its why I wasn't as active either. I hope we can get to be more supportive of one another! Its wonderful when we have NSV, of course it is also awesome to see the scale move down, and kind of scary to see it move up like it did for me this weekend. I'm back on track though. I made myself some Jello to have when I feel like I need to snack. That way it isn't too many calories and I add a little fat free whipped topping which is only 20 cals!

I'm having the same issues with snacking. I'm trying to make better snack choices now - keep them under 100 calories. I figure one step at a time. Right now I'm having some jello with fat free whipped topping

How are you doing with the band 4 months out?
lilnena replied to Paula78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Banded 3/21/07. Didn't get my first fill until 6/12 due to issues with upper abdominal pain. 1 fill so far and I have 1cc in my band with absolutely NO restriction! -
No advice about BPs. I've never experienced one (and hope to never experience one either)
-
Thank you Paula, its great to know I'm not alone! I understand all too well about money and not being able to afford the healthier foods. My nutritionist told me to have ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch, so I'm trying to do that when I'm at work. This weekend we tried to get all the junk out of the house. I'm totally recommitting to eating better! I have absolutely no restriction at 1cc. I can eat ANYTHING including bread! Hopefully smaller portions will keep me full as long as the bigger portions do! And OH Julie - that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

X-Ray chic which nurse was it who was rude to you? You need to tell Dr Singh your experience  My surgery was 3/21 and I've only lost about 18lbs since the surgery. I had a 1cc fill last month, and am hoping for another CC on the 19th. When he filled you up completely did you feel anything? I didn't and I worry that because of that I'll never feel any restriction, but only time will tell! I'm here if you want to talk

Hi everyone! Glad to see this group is still active :Banane10: I've been having a rough time in the past week and have actually gained about 6 lbs I know some of that is PMS and constipation, but a gain is still a gain I have had 1 fill so far, and that was last month. I have 1cc in my band, but it really hasn't made a difference in how much I can eat. I just find I can wait longer in between meals. When I got my fill the surgeon filled my band completely, and then withdrew 3cc of saline. Well he was suprised that I didn't feel ANYTHING when he filled me up completely. It makes me worry that even filled completely that I wont have restriction - and I NEED restriction! I haven't been making the best choices with what I eat, and I know that, so I'm committing to starting over again. I'm not eating nearly as much as I used to, but I know I'm eating more than I SHOULD be eating. I'm going to try to keep my portion sizes to a cup or under (been eating more like 1.5 cups or more lately) So am I the only one struggling?

Happy Anniversary! I'm thrilled to hear how well you ladies are all doing! :scalesno: -
Hello my fellow Marchies! Its been weeks since I've been here, and I really need to work on logging on more often to help me stay accountable! Well since March 21st I've only lost about 20lbs. However overall since Sept when I really began this journey I've lost 75lbs! Which I'm absolutely thrilled with! I really need to start making better choices about what I eat. Its not nearly as bad as I used to be, but still, it could be better. I got my first fill on 6/12. I don't have any restriction yet, but I am able to go longer in between meals now (except for today - for some reason I was STARVING all day long!) Lets see - a NSV - I've lost 34.875 inches overall since I started recording my measurements in November - so in 7 months I've lost almost 5 inches a month - and that is a great feeling too! Hope you all are doing well today :scalesno:

Hi Marchies, I've been MIA for a couple of weeks. I've had some issues between a pulled muscle in my abdomen which is EXCRUCIATING at times, and constipation causing hemorrhoids/anal fissures I've been pretty miserable. I went for a fill on 4/15 but Dr. Singh wanted to wait. He said if he gave me a fill and I was too tight I would have vomiting which would aggravate my muscle so he told me to rest the muscle to help it heal and to come back in 3 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that by 6/12 I'm done with pain and able to get a fill! I've lost 17.5lbs since surgery but have had some NSV's. I'm down from a 26/28 in tops and bottoms to an 18 top, and I can fit into 24 bottoms but they are too snug in the hips to be comfortable

 Glad you got some answers Kyethra!

So I'm finding that I'm able to eat anything (including bread) at this point. I've been keeping everything in moderation, but I really thought I would have been able to eat less than I can. I can't wait to get my first fill. I have to wait until May 8th for my first fill
