Hi All, thanks for posting on this site, it has been really useful to read through all your comments. I'd like to ask you what you think about my choices: I'm 44, and have been overweight all my life, despite feeling like I make good food choices (no biscuits, cakes, crisps in the house etc) and I love salad and veggies. But my eating is emotional, and I have tried again and again without success to lose weight over the years. I've had my bloods done and the doctors don't think it is due to under active thyroid. I'm 5'4" and 190 lbs, which is 13 stone 10 lbs, roughly, and my BMI is 33. I have a very small frame, and was 8 st 10 lbs when I was a very young teenager, that seemed to be my "normal" weight for years until I left home to go away to school and I think my bad eating habits stem from emotional needs not met at that time and too much food to take the place of activity and interesting things to do at school. I have yo yo'd between 11 1/2 stone and 13 1/2 stone for the past 20 years If, as you say, the band is not the full answer, then what is? I have never been able to be successfully on a diet and lose weight for more than a couple of weeks without giving up through lack of motivation (mainly because my weight stays the same, although I eat under 1000 cals a day and exercise like mad) I am in the South East - if you think I should go for a consultation, where would you suggest? I don't want to go abroad, as I have a busy home life with 4 kids and animals to look after and a very non-supporting husband
