Seventeen years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I found the growth in its early stages and have been cancer free for 16 years.  I gained 6-8 pounds between each chemo treatment (starting weight was 133lbs.) and continued gaining weight until I reached 173 pounds.  This last year I have gained over 20 pounds and have had no success dieting.  I don't want to continue like this and hope that the lap band may be a way to prevent more weight gain and take control of my eating.
