Body Lift ! Told My Trainer
spoiltmom replied to rosstheboss's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Good luck to you! It's awesome that your trainer is so supportive. I know that takes a little stress off. -
Hopefully it passes quickly for you! Congrats on your new figure:)

If you've already had your tummy tuck please advise...
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I normally have the same problem but now before surgery they apply a Scopolamine patch behind my ear. That gets rid of all the nausea from anesthesia and then I take Phenergan 30 minutes before pain meds. That stops the nausea from the meds. The two work awesome for me. -
How many of you have hypothyroidism?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep my brother's wife had Hyper. It went untreated because the doctor's just didn't realize she had it. One night she passed out and he called 911. She ended up in ICU on a ventilator not responding at all and it was due to the fact that her thyroid was untreated. It scared me so badly. Something I won't forget. They told my brother she had had a stroke and it was fatal but they were totally wrong. She went home 9 days later on meds. -
How many of you have hypothyroidism?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My health insurance and my doctor feel the same way. My doc only gives Synthroid and my insurance covers it for a generic copay. My labwork should be back Monday. I'm starting to thing I maybe on too much Synthroid though. A short walk lives my heart pounding and I have to sit down to catch My breath. My blood pressure is up again. I've been off blood pressure meds for months now and my blood pressure has never been high until now. -
Ever since I was 14 my hips have looked weird. They look like I have a double set of hips if that makes sense. I could have Lipo on them to fix them but would I get lasting results or would fat just build up in those areas again?

We don't have an endocrinologist where I live:( I did try the armour thyroid before though. I couldn't get past the taste and smell of it. -
Yes it is. My weight was stalled for a couple of months yet I still lost a jeans size:)

See my family doc says thyroid meds decrease as you lose weight. My surgeon says they increase. The fact that they don't agree just makes me want them checked more often. LOL -
Any of you have 2 sets of hips?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Yes Cakegirl! That's it! I have them since I was 14. They settled and just have never moved. -
I use Ez Sweetz from Amazon. It's liquid Splenda so it's zero carbs. Sweet n low, Equal and Splenda are NOT truly zero carb. There are carbs in the powder/ filler that is in them.

A note about DERMABOND
spoiltmom replied to lavishblue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I peeled mine off after 5 days. It was itching way too badly and my surgeon's nurse said it was fine to take it off. I hate Dermabond. It irritates my skin way too much. -
Way to go!! That's amazing for being just 8 months out!

Due to some sinus issues and stuck episodes I've been on liquids for 3 days now. It's definitely helping but I'm weak and you know, liquids in, liquids out, I can't stay away from the bathroom. Dh is working today and my oldest ds has a birthday party and sleepover to go to. The birthday party is at a park and has NO bathroom. I'll have my other 2 small kids with me. I'd like to just drop him off and I know the mom would understand except.... The sleepover is at their house which is approximately 1 mile from the park and they don't have room in their vehicle to buckle all the kids in. It's only 1 mile but you have to cross a MAJOR intersection in that 1 mile. I don't really feel comfortable with ds not being buckled up. What would you do? My ds is 11 by the way.

Quick opinions please...
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks ladies! DH's aunt just happened to pull up in my yard 15 minutes after I posted this. She volunteered to go with me that way I'd have help with the kids. We ended up having a good time. I drank an Atkins shake on the way there. With her help and the extra shake it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it might be. -

Well, if they are walking they don't have to cross a major intersection. I may drop him off and then go back and pick him up and take him to the sleepover. I have a minivan so If I go back I can also fit 3 extra kids in my van. That would probably be the best idea huh? -
I'm getting talked out of Surgery on Obesity Help
spoiltmom replied to Pats Fan in MA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, before banding I knew how to eat healthy also. In fact I lost 45 pounds doing Weight Watchers but I was hungry all the time and I couldn't keep it off. Now I've lost almost 80 pounds and kept it all off. For me surgery was easy, I never needed any pain meds and I was back up chasing my kids around 2 days later. My blood work is all good and I've gotten rid of my high blood pressure, sleep apnea, extreme pain in my knees, and I have much more energy now. I have had a few problems with food getting stuck and swelling but all in all, I would definitely do it again if needed. My surgeon says to eat around 1000-1200 calories a day. Most days I eat around 1500 though and I know I should exercise but I don't, not on a regular basis anyway. I'm working on that though. I know 5 other ladies who have been banded for 6 years now. They are happy, healthy and have had no problems. Good Luck to you no matter what you decide. -
Are you tracking your calories? At first I wasn't losing much post op but then I realized my calorie intake was super low. I started using 2% milk in my shakes to up my calories and then I started seeing a difference. I aimed for 900-1000 calories. Don't worry, it will come off.

What insurance? Wait 4 approval?
spoiltmom replied to BestPTA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have United Healthcare. I was approved within 2 weeks with no 6 month diet plan. It was super easy. -
Congratulations!!

Finally told my mom I have a TT scheduled
spoiltmom posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
To my surprise she wasn't shocked at all. She didn't try to talk me out of it and she said that she is the week of my surgery and the week after so she can come stay with me and help me if needed. Of course I didn't tell her that I'm getting breast implants at the same time, I didn't figure she needed to know that just yet. LOL -
FULL Tummy tuck and breast lift, done one month ago. Progress and pics.

Girl, you look amazing!! What a big difference! -
First fill today, and couldn't tolerate water test.
spoiltmom replied to Marla290's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I disagree with the food orders also. After any sort of band adjustment you never go straight to normal food. I'd do liquids, then mushies, trhen solids. -
Have you guys tried Trueprotein.com?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got some samples from Trueprotein.com and I love them! Their shipping is higher than some because they only offer UPS shipping but it's definitely worth it. I got Vanilla Birthday Cake, Dutch chocolate fudge, chocolate peanut butter, bananas and cream, coconut cream pie and chocolate chip cookie dough. Now I'm thinking about what flavors to try next. I love drinking my shakes now:)
