Question about pills that are too big...
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ended up just swallowing it and it went down with no problems. They do make a liquid but it's $200 for a month's supply. My insurance won't cover the liquid at all. -
Post Op how do you get all the tape/sticky stuff off??
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay I'll try that today before my shower. Thanks! -
Heavy lifting question
spoiltmom replied to jamelyn1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doc said I could lift my 4 month old but not my 3 year old. I'd wait a little while if I were you. -
August Rush in bandland!

I'm not digging the pureed stage either but at least it's better than the choices I have right now. -

My Prozac went down no problem:) I've also managed to clean my kitchen, do my dishes and 2 loads of laundry. Plus I've gotten everything planned and ready to cook supper for the family- and of course my protein shake is already made. I guess I'll drink on that while I cook. -
pre-op house cleaning!!! Just venting...
spoiltmom replied to jingleboob's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd love to see that myself!! I love doing home improvement stuff:) My next project is to tile the kitchen floor, utility room floor and the countertops. I fold all my laundry at my dining table. It's nice, clean and neat it just doesn't always get put away. We eat at the island in the kitchen though. -

LOL! I love that! We have wood floors also and I can't stand clutter. My idea of cleaning house is to throw stuff away. -

Yay!! I'm jealous:) I'd love some mashed potatoes right now. I'm starving. I've already had 64 oz of Water, a cup of tomato soup and 2 Protein shakes. You said you take Cymbalta right? I might try and take one of my Prozac and see what happens. I just can't stand being without it. I second the Powerade Zero also. I actually LOVE that stuff! -
My incision looks like it maybe getting infected WARNING PICS
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was and that's making all my incisions look nasty. They have blood smeared all over them and then plastered there by the Dermabond. It's hard to tell where 2 of them start and end. I'm loving that Syntrax! I already went through my samples and ordered 2 full size tubs. That stuff tastes awesome! -

It's hard to get a pic of but there's a pink/red area on the edge of my incision. In the middle of that area there are 3 heads. They look like whiteheads. Should I be concerned or just keep an eye on it? I know this incision looks awful. They didn't clean them very well before they applied the Dermabond and it kind of smeared the blood. -

I'm hungry too!! I'm so ready to eat something real. I got up starving this morning. I've had 2 glasses of Water, a can of tomato Soup and an 8oz Protein shake and I'm still hungry. I don't see my doc again until next week. -
My incision looks like it maybe getting infected WARNING PICS
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay I called my mom and she works for a surgeon. He said it sounded like it was infected and to call my surgeon ASAP. So I called my surgeon and his nurse said to keep an eye on it today and call her back first thing tomorrow morning and tell her how it looks. She thinks it's not an infection but a reaction I'm having to the Dermabond. I'm not sure. I know the last abdominal surgery I had was my gallbladder and I was fine with the Dermabond but I had a major reaction to the sutures. My body expelled them after 3 days and my wounds got infected. So I watch surgical incisions very closely now. -

It's covered in Dermabond. I have showered and cleaned it but since it's all covered in Dermabond you can't really clean it. I have no fever. -

Question about pills that are too big...
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I called the surgeon and they said I can swallow it whole again next week. For now they said to mix it with applesauce and splenda- it's just a no go it's too gross and bitter. I called my PCP and I'm waiting to see what she says. I must have my prozac. -
I have a question about throwing up
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I almost threw up yesterday. It was different. My mouth got all hot and Water and my stomach felt like something was coming up but nothing ever came. So with the band do you actually throw up? What do you do when you get a stomach virus with the band? I mean is it okay to throw up all day or will it mess up your band somehow? -

I feel great otherwise. I just drank too much at one time trying to take my meds. -
I tried this and it was nasty also. Turns out they make Prozac in liquid form but my insurance won't cover it and it's $200 for a 30 day supply:( I only pay $4.00 for my capsules. I guess I'll back to Lexapro for now until I'm able to swallow good again.

I feel great now! My three kids are back home and I'm getting back into a normal routine. I start protein shakes today which I'm actually looking forward to. I'm a little hungry.

Yep I swear I'm the only adult in the house:) -
I just thought of something funny. You know how they tell us that we MUST shrink our liver or they won't do the band? I did everything I was supposed to and I lost 15 pounds so I really had nothing to worry about but I was still worried. The recovery room nurse woke me and said they are all done. I said you mean I have my band? She said yes maam and you did great. 5 minutes later I looked at her and said I know I've already asked you this but you did say my band is in their right? LOL She smiled and said she thought it was time for my family to come in b/c I was definitely waking up good. LOL

What have you gotten rid of since surgery?
spoiltmom replied to Astrasmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

spoiltmom replied to jingleboob's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way! I honestly don't know who's messiest my kids or my dh. I bought new living room furniture in September and I picked leather. The salesman was like you made a good choice leather is nice with kids b/c it repels liquid and stains... My kids aren't the ones that spill on my furniture though my DH does. Sometimes it gets very, very annoying!! -
How to decide lap band or gastric?
spoiltmom replied to angilu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I picked Lap Band b/c it's safer and it's completely reversible. I know a lady that had severe permanent health issues from a bypass gone bad.
