You do have a point there. I was told my band was empty and then found out that there was 3 cc's that was put in at surgery.

She does have great tips! I absolutely LOVE Almond milk but I prefer the plain.

My surgeon says it's okay. I drink it with Splenda and Coffee Mate sugar free creamer.

Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread
spoiltmom replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay guys I was banded last month. I just got my first fill on Tuesday. I had 3 cc's in my band from surgery and the doc added 1 more. Since then I'm not as hungry and I get full on less. I'm wanting to lose as much as possible by Thanksgiving so I pulled out my WW materials and started tracking points again. I did WW for a year before and I lost 50 pounds. I just couldn't stick with it b/c I was hungry all the time. Here's the thing though, I get 26 points a day right? Used to I would eat that amount and lose on it but now I can't even eat that. Today for example I had 16 points. I'm a little hungry right now but not much and it's almost bed time. Should I be trying to eat more or more calorie rich foods or what? This is odd for me but in a good way:) I spent so long struggling trying to eat under or at my daily points limit and I was always starving or going over. I can't believe how little I eat now:) I'm so psyched!! -

Protein questions...

I'll have to check Amazon. My surgeon doesn't have anything like that and I do think it would really be helpful for me. -
Okay my first fill was on Tuesday...Question
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since I've started back on solid foods I'm not having any problems eating at all. I can still eat bread even. But so far it seems that I'm eating a bit less and I'm not as hungry between meals. So my question is is that all in my head or did my fill really do something for me? I got 1 cc and I had 3 cc's from surgery so I have 4 cc's total now. What do you think? I'm even at an all time low with my weight:) I'm down a pound:) -
What I just found out from insurance.
spoiltmom replied to honk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can get a policy that will only cover hospitalizations/major illnesses for a lot less than that. I had one once through Blue Cross. It didn't cover doctor visits or prescriptions it was just a major medical policy. I had $1K deductible and then 80/20. It was around $100 a month. -
Okay from what I read after I Googled this she previously had Lap Band surgery and regained then weight. THen lost it again with Jenny Craig.

How do you know that? Do you have a link to an article or something? She does look good now but I was wondering if that's really how she lost it.

I wonder the same thing. I wonder if this will last all the way to my next fill in 4 weeks. -

How much have you lost since your first fill? I'm so psyched about this whole thing! I definitely feel like I'm going to succeed at losing weight this time:) -

Yep 26K for 4 months. I'm not sure when it comes on. I have my DVR set to record it. At some point they EARN the privilege to go home for the weekend. They are weighed when they get back to see how they did with their food choices. -
I think it varies by doctor. My doctor said it's fine in moderation. I've found though that the best OTC pain med for me is Tylenol Arthritis Pain. It's stronger than plain Tylenol and it really does the trick for me.

It was my first. They added 1 cc and I had 3cc's from surgery so I'm at 4 now. I'm doing good though. I can still eat bread and really anything I want but I am satisfied and full eating less of it. I've even lost another pound. I know I'm not at my sweet spot but it definitely seems like my appetite is decreasing:) -
Would you do it again??? (have the surgery...)
spoiltmom replied to KikstersRT's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would definitely do it again! I think it's totally worth it and so far I'm very pleased with my results. -
poked 3 times and no fill!!
spoiltmom replied to Beachbunny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry:( Hopefully the doc can get it on the first try. I will say though my surgeon said that the first time it can take a while to find it. He said after that he normally has no problem. -
I would call your doc this morning. Especially with the weekend coming up. It sounds like you need an unfill even if it's just a small one.

First Fill Yesterday
spoiltmom replied to mybarra4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I had my first fill on Tuesday. I already had 3 cc's from surgery and the doc added 1 more so I have 4cc's now. I haven't really noticed a difference. I can still eat just fine and take all my meds with no problems. I'm eating less but I'm not sure if that's the band or if I'm just not as hungry the past few days. I went back to liquids for 2 days and I always seem to be less hungry after coming off liquids. Not sure why but I just am. -
Those of you that have been banded a while...

What do you typically eat? If you have a family what do you typically make for supper at night? -

That's not mean I'm thinking of doing the same thing:) Dh likes grilled skin on chicken breast, or deep fried chicken. He will occasionally eat shake and bake but very, very occasionally. He likes bone in ribs and pork chops deep fried or grilled. He doesn't like them baked at all. Are you seeing a trend here? LOL I have a great recipe for a rotisserie chicken. I love it and you know what? He hates it:( He also likes Chuck Roast with gravy. Basically everything has to be grilled, fried or covered in gravy and I'm not into grilling right now b/c I don't have the time to. You know what's worse? Most of the time he doesn't even eat supper until 9 pm. I'm ready to cook and eat by 7 at the latest so I feel like I'm cooking to cater to him and then he's not even eating it until it's cold. It's aggravating all the way around. -

That is why I have such mixed feelings about the show. The kids need help but this just seems drastic and highly expensive. I still watch it though b/c I'm curious about there methods and rather or not they really work. -
I prefer Syntrax Nectar protein. It tastes really good without that nasty protein powder aftertaste.

I'm back on solids today and I'm not having any problems eating. I'm just trying to rely on my will power and stay below 1200 calories. SO far it's 1 pm and I just had lunch. I'm doing good right now. -
Bizzare reactions at my incision sites
spoiltmom replied to Nursecutie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem. I was allergic to the Dermabond. I peeled it all off. Washed the sites good and then doctored with them Benadryl cream and took Benadryl at bed time. They were better within 2 days. I was 5 days out when I removed the Dermabond and my surgeon said it was fine.
