how long after operation did you get first fill
spoiltmom replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They normally wait 4-6 weeks after surgery. Mine was 6 weeks after. -
How long till you got good restriction??
spoiltmom replied to Nicole74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was lucky enough to get restriction with my very first fill. I know that's not common though. Hang in there, it will happen. -

Do you guys read All You magazine?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got this month's issue. It was only $2.49 and it has coupons in it for Fuze drinks, Jillian Michael's Whey protein and the Body Fortress Whey protein powder and Protein shots from Wal Mart. That's enough right there to more than cover the cost of the magazine. Just thought I'd share! -
Hair loss - Anyone?
spoiltmom replied to Stacey627's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also told that your hair will fall out from lack of protein. My doc recommends 65 grams a day to prevent that. So far I haven't had any problems. -
August Rush in bandland!
spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There a supplement. You can get them on the vitamin aisle at Wal Mart or at GNC. -
What's for lunch today?
spoiltmom replied to missgypsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a leftover chicken breast with a little whole wheat couscous. This time I ate it with a little gravy and it went down without getting stuck. -
August Rush in bandland!
spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! Yesterday I was stuck on a piece of dry chicken breast. I read on these boards months ago how Papaya enzyme can help with stuck episodes. I bought some right then. Yesterday I remembered I had them so I took them and it really did seem to help and they taste good too. -
How long till you were able to lay down and on your side???
spoiltmom replied to babyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept in my bed the first night. I was able to lay on my stomach just fine and my right side. It was almost 5 days before I could get comfy on my left side though. -
what city and state are you from and what occupation
spoiltmom replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You sound a lot like me:) I hope to go back next year when my middle child starts PreK. MIL doesn't mind watching the baby b/c he's the only and last grandbaby in the family. Before I became a stay at home mom I did medical billing for a local family practice. -
August Rush in bandland!

I got stuck yesterday but luckily I didn't throw up. The pain was intense though. -

I'm from, and still in East Texas and I'm a stay at home mom. I'm also hoping to go to back to college at some point. -
Friend trying to be supportive but admitted she didn't want me having surgery
spoiltmom replied to MustangKitten's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe your friend could go to a Lap Band Seminar with you. My surgeon encourages you to bring a support person rather it's a relative or a friend and he will answer any questions they have. I've only been banded since August but it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. -
ITA!!! Maybe she is really just jealous b/c she can't have it done?
-
Well a friend of mine went from 425 to 175 with Lap Band and still has all her hanging skin and her health. Why are you even on this forum if you are against Lap Band? I'd rather take my chances with hanging skin than to die from a stroke over my high blood pressure.

Congrats and good luck with your fill:) -
For lunch I had a boneless skinless chicken breast that I pan fried in a teaspoon of oil. I had a little whole wheat couscous with it. 3/4 of the way through I started getting terrible chest pains and a lot of saliva in my mouth. I thought I was going to throw up then I remembered I had some Papaya Enzymes so I took 4 of them and within 5 or 10 minutes I was fine again. I'm assuming I got stuck on the chicken b/c it was dry right? What do you use to keep your food from being dry?
-
I was wondering the same thing. Why are you here?
And do you realize that hanging skin won't kill you but extra weight will?
I'd rather have extra skin then to have my high blood pressure, sleep apnea, painful arthritis in my knees and etc.
-
This is good advice! Hanging skin WON'T KILL YOU, being overweight will! I went back and forth with it and now I'm so glad I did it and I wish I'd done it sooner. I was just banded in August but so far my results are AWESOME!!

I'm at 4 cc's now. I think 4 1/2 might be my true sweet spot b/c I'm almost there at just 4 cc's. -

That is true also. Hmm. You know some of those bras they wear are heavy duty. If I were on their and ended up below the yellow line I'd demand to be weighed in nothing but my shorts...just like the guys. LOL Those bras have to weigh at least 2 pounds each. -
That sounds really good:) Do you mix the protein in after the oatmeal is cooked or before? does it clump?
-
I'll get this year's shot next week but we always get them every single year. I got the flu once when I was 13 and I swear I thought I was going to die I hurt so badly. My kids get them also.

Just bought the Syntax Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein.. How do YOU prepare it?
spoiltmom replied to Valerieee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love Nectar but I hate the fruit flavors. They are gross IMO. I prefer the chocolate and cappucino. Those are really great! -
Pics 2 motivate others! We can do it :)
spoiltmom replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look great!! Good job:) You definitely don't look like you weigh 238. You look like you weigh much less than that to me.
