  1. I was told to do this but I couldn't. It tasted way too nasty. I'd call your doc for an alternative medicine.
  2. Okay almost 7 years ago I started having a debilitating pain in my left knee and down the outside of my left leg. It would go down my leg and into my foot. The pain on a scale of 1-10 was a 20! Nothing helped it or made it ease up. I saw an orthopedic doc who said I had patello femoral knee pain in my knee and I needed physical therapy. So I did PT on and off for years. Finally in 2005 the pain became unbearable and I had surgery on my knee. The doc never said that my knee was making my leg hurt but since I kept complaining with my leg and he kept talking about my knee I just Assumed they were connected. Well I had the surgery and my knee was doing great but my leg was still KILLING me. That's when he told me that they were NOT related at ALL and that he felt I had a pinched nerve in my back that was making my leg hurt so badly. Since then I've seen 2 neurologists, 1 neurosurgeon, a Rheumatologist, 2 more orthopedic docs besides the one I have, my family doc and a Physical Medicine doc. I've had an MRI of my leg, knee and low back. I've also had an EMG which was good. The physical med doc said he felt that the MRI wasn't telling the whole story and I that have a pinched nerve and it's just not showing up on the MRI. He wanted to do an epidural steroid injection. I got pregnant after that and couldn't do it. Now here I am. My baby is 6 months old. EVERY SINGLE TIME I walk a lot I go to bed with a horrible pain in my leg:( Rather it's walking on my treadmill or just walking a lot b/c I'm out shopping. The only thing that helps is to take Vicodin OR a sleeping pill so I can at least sleep through the night but I can't take either with a baby in the house. I'm 30 years old and I'm tired of having this pain. It holds me back so much! Should I just go ahead and schedule the Steroid Injection or what? I've spent a lot of time and money on this not to have definite answers. I see my Lap Band surgeon again in 2 weeks and I'm going to go over all of this with him and see what he says also. It actually depresses me:(
  3. I don't mind taking meds to get relief but narcotics all make me throw up so I have to take Phenergan with them and well after that I can only sleep. LOL Would you try the injection even though there's no definitive reason for my pain? My family doc said the injection would be diagnostic also b/c if it worked that would tell them for sure that it was a pinched nerve. I can't remember now where the doc said it was pinched but he has a theory on where it is and a plan on where to put the injection. Thanks Betsy!!

    Size 10!!!!

    Congrats!! Can we see pics?
  5. Technically since you paid cash up front he shouldn't be able to charge your insurance but truthfully? Unless he gave you a receipt that specifically said the money was to cover the first 12 months after care then legally yeah he can bill em.
  6. WTG! I bet they won't recognize you!
  7. Congrats on your loss! I'd wait a while to have the surgery. Most surgeons here want you within 20 pounds of your goal weight before they do it otherwise you'll end up with flabby belly again once you reach your goal weight.

    ohhhh-so embarrassed!

I've been taking a digestive enzyme that helps a TON with that. I got it at WalMart and it's like $8.00 for a month supply. Digestive Advantage Gas Defense Formula
  11. Thanks. I want it fixed too. I'm at 100% coverage with my insurance through the end of this year so that would probably be my best bet. I'm just so tired of this:(
  12. Thanks I'll try that. I guess it's normal then huh?

    Mobilization

You should be fine. I have 3 kids ages 6 months, 3 years and 10 years. I had surgery on a Friday and by Sunday I was totally caring for them by myself again with no help.
  14. I've been stuck at 202 for a week now. I'm trying to get below 200. Yesterday I decided to eat MORE. I had around 1200 calories instead of the normal 800-900 I've been eating. I really pushed the Water and I stayed away from the salt shaker plus I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. This morning I weigh 199! Finally!!! Now I just need to keep it up! My next goal for myself is 180.
  15. I never took them either. I have a brand new unopened bottle of Lortab. But my Ob/Gyn's nurse told me that I have a high pain tolerance. I've had other surgeries and never used pain meds either.
  16. I get port pain every time I bend over lately, a bad sharp pain. Bathing my kids at night is starting to really kill me. It's fine if I hold my hand over my port and put pressure against it but if I don't do that then I have major pain just bending over to turn on the water. Will that go away soon?
  17. Hopefully that will do it for you! Let us know how your feeling.

    LOL!
  20. I know this is hard to hear but I would wait it out. I wouldn't let them remove the band right now. If there's any fluid in it at all have them remove it and try that.
  21. My FIL says I should just back away from the table. What BS!

    Bandsters are scaring me!

I really had no pain except for the gas pain. I never even opened my Lortab. I still eat and I still enjoy my food but I get full on much less of it and I feel in control now where before I felt like food was controlling me. I'm so happy I got the band!

    Set off security

IDK As far as I know the band and tubing are silicon and not metal.
  24. I'm sorry. I felt that way the first 4 or 5 days also. Where is the pain your feeling?

    Set off security

You didn't have any wire in your bra did you? If so that will do it every day. The band isn't metal so if that set it off I'd get an xray just to be sure.
