  1. Hmm It was super for about 2 1/2 weeks. I just have to make it till Tuesday and then I'll get more.
  2. Thank you for that link! I just didn't think I would lose restriction so quickly! I've lost almost 10 pounds since my last fill.
  3. I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like an infection or kidney stone.
  4. It does to me also. The thing is they will do it for $12500 CASH and that includes the hospital, surgeon and anesthesia part. They split that 3 ways.
  5. I went to my first one last night. It was a real eye opener. I learned that over time all I should be able to eat is 8 tablespoons of food per meal and that's it. I should be full after that. That blew my mind! I mean really when you think about it that's not much at all. There were people there of all weights and sizes. It was neat to see the progress they are making. I was also given some shake recipes and some real food recipes that I can't wait to try. Anyway it was fun. I'll definitely go back next month. I think I was the newest bandster there but I've done Weight Watchers so much in the past that even I had some good tips to add:)
  6. I have a head cold and I've had indigestion for the last 2 days now. Seriously. I'm never hungry and I just feel so yuck! Any ideas on getting rid of the indigestion?
  7. They said they could NOT understand why I was banded. They said banding was for people that were 100 pounds over weight and I'm not. Well I told them do you realize what I weighed to start with? They guessed around 180. I told them I weighed right at 230. Their jaws dropped. They could not believe it. Now they say they totally understand why I did it. But why do people have to judge? When I tell people I've had it done I also say that my insurance company covered it. So if my insurance covered it then I had legitimate reasons for doing it otherwise they would have denied it. Then I told them the surgeon said I should weigh 125. They are very against that. They say I will be WAY TOO thin at that weight. I'm only going after 140-145 but I think they will still be lecturing me even at that weight.
  8. There are so many things I'm looking forward to: Finally losing the weight for good Getting off my blood pressure meds Getting off my C Pap machine Having less pain in my knees Being able to run and keep up with my kiddos Not sweating so much I'm so excited about this journey. When I went to my pre op appt yesterday I was a little nervous b/c well doctors make me nervous. But I left there feeling great. The staff is so nice and they are very, very excited for all their bariatric patients. They had nothing but good things to say and I just felt completely at ease. Even my surgeon spent a good amount of time with me answered all my questions completely and honestly and he has a great sense of humor. I hate stuffy doctors. I'd rather have someone that will laugh with me. I'm so ready to go!!
  9. I thought that too but it was GREAT! They talked about their weight and clothing sizes openly and honestly. No one cared if you said you were 400 pounds or 200 pounds. They are all there for the same reason. At my meetings they also do a clothing exchange while your there. Basically all the Lap Band patients bring in there old clothes that don't fit anymore and if you see anything you want it's yours. Just return it when it's too big. I'm very nervous around new people. Especially a big group like that but I was totally comfortable within 15 minutes.
  10. You know what else is helpful? I buy pants a little tight then when I wash and dry them I air dry them or use delicate/low heat. Then when they start getting too loose I begin drying them on high heat. It shrinks em up enough to make em fit better for a while longer:)
  11. I love 5 Hour Energy! I have some in my cabinet right now. A friend of mine swears by Advocare's Spark energy drink but I've never tried it.
  12. How much is in your band right now?

    Need more protein!

I love the Syntrax Nectar but I'm also wanting to try the Inspire from Bariatric Eating.
  14. My doctor requires you to attend like 6 meetings a year to get your fills. I'll check out the sites you posted.

    ohhhh-so embarrassed!

That is good to know! I was hoping the gas wouldn't last forever.

    I'm SICK *cough*cough*

The best over the counter cough medicine IMO is Delsym liquid. It's totally safe. If your head is stopped up I'd take some Mucinex also. I have a cold right now. So far mine is just a stopped head and really sore throat. No cough...yet. I've been taking Mucinex and using my Nasonex nasal spray. This darn weather is really getting me right now.
  17. Congrats on the loss!! I hope your problems stop now.
  18. The last couple of days I've had indigestion so bad. I've had it like all day long. Today the indigestion is gone but I'm STARVING. I swear I can't get full no matter what I eat and I'm weak and shaky. What's the deal?
  19. I started looking into it the first part of June and was banded the first week of August. It would have been quicker than that but I had issues with my doc's insurance lady.
  20. MSDV- I have a dumb question. I know when some people get close to goal they get a low profile port so it's not as noticeable. Does insurance cover this and why don't they use them to start with? Just curious:) If any of you know the answer feel free to chime in.
  21. I had to find this post b/c guess what? I feel the same way again. Weak, starving, shakey, indigestion. Apparently it is just related to my monthly cycle. Because it was almost 4 weeks ago when I originally posted this. At least now that I know what it is I know it will also pass. I just have to stay strong and NOT eat.
  22. I'm glad to hear your feeling better!!!
  23. First you must understand EVERY surgeon has his OWN rules. Mine is fine with me having coffee, drinking occasionally and eating whatever I want as long as I get my Protein in. I can take pills with no problems. I had no pain with my surgery other than gas pain. It was like a non event for me. The second day after I was banded I did stuck on a small capsule but warm Water washed it right down. I haven't had any issues since then. I have banded friends who are at their goal weight now who also drink COKES and they use straws with them. They also eat diets of junk. They don't get sick at all but IMO they aren't treating their bodies right. I do not regret having this done at all. I'd do it again if need be. I will say though for me as far as pain goes the only thing's I've ever need pain meds for was during labor- none afterwards and after having knee surgery. I've had 6 other surgeries including a gallbladder removal and a hysterectomy with no pain at all. When I told the pre op nurse that while she was getting me ready for my Lap Band surgery she told me I'd do fine then and wouldn't have pain or need pain meds.
