  1. Woo Hoo!! Congrats!! I'm the same as you. I'm in the misses section now but still in XL and loose flowy things fit best.
  2. For me I was hungry all the time. I could lose weight to a certain point but then I got tired of always being hungry. Now I'm doing great. I wish I would have done this sooner.
  3. Well if your done having kids I would talk to your OB/Gyn about it. I've always had horrible cramps but for the past 3 years I have also had my period 2 weeks out of every month. I had a vaginal hysterectomy last month and it was the best thing I've done aside from my band. I feel awesome now!
  4. I'll check it out. I prefer 100% cotton also but man that's so hard to find these days. I have a few pair left from Old Navy that I love but they are 14's and I'm in a 16 right now. I also plan to look at Goodwill this week and see what they have.
  5. I know what you mean! I get my second fill on Tuesday and I absolutely cannot wait. I had good restriction for the first 2 weeks after my first fill but now not so much. My restriction sort of dwindled down.
  6. IDK I asked my bariatric surgeon about it and he said the same thing. He said the band has to be emptied before surgeries or you can have complications from it.

    omg please help!!!

I agree you need to be seen by a doc immediately!! Keep us posted.
  8. okay my doc says no drinking 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal. Here's my question.... If I wait 30 minutes afterwards and then I drink a 20 oz bottle of Water isn't that still just going to wash the food out of my pouch? or is that why we are supposed to take tiny sips? I was also told to take only tiny sips through out the day. Never large drinks or gulps of anything. I guess my thing is if my pouch is about the size of an egg then it won't take much Fluid to fill that up right? So once it's full of fluid then the food is just washed right through. Correct?
  9. My Ob/Gyn said the same thing last month. I had to have a hysterectomy and he said they couldn't do the anesthesia unless my band was empty, otherwise the tube wouldn't go down my throat.
  10. Thank you Julie. I'm having the same problem. The past 10 days I've really been eating way too much. Sometimes I'm hungry but sometimes I just eat to be eating:( I have to get a handle on that.

    Bandsters,fills, goal?

I wonder that also. I guess if mine ever slipped I might consider the sleeve instead. I love my band so much but I worry about something happening to it at some point.

    The Five Day Pouch Test

    I'll check out your blog:)
  14. Thank you ladies. Congrats TimandMich!! I hope everything goes smooth for you!
  15. So what about going to the bathroom? I mean is hard to get them down and back up again?
  16. How comfy are they anyway? I've been thinking about buying some but there aren't any stores here that sell them. Do they feel like they are suffocating you or what??
  17. First what's your favorite unflavored Protein? How do you add it to food so that it's not a curdled up chunky mess? I wouldn't mind adding to things if I could get it to mix up smoothly in my food.
  18. I've been thinking about trying that but the shipping to my area for one container is almost $12.00! I wish there were a cheaper option:(
  19. I got my first fill a few weeks ago. I was doing great. I was getting full on a cup of food 3 times a day. Now the past few days I'm starving and I can eat way more than a cup and don't feel anywhere near full. My next fill is next week. Is this normal?

    cant find the portal

Don't do surgery yet. You definitely need a U/S or xray. That should find it.
  21. Okay guys I lost my grandpa yesterday. He had an unexpected fatal stroke:( I will be surrounded by food for the next 3-4 days. So far I'm doing good though and not taking it out on food. I'm just keeping myself busy instead.
  22. Okay here's the deal. My insurance company only allows a 90 day filing time. As of today they have not received the claim for the additional $60K. They said they will pay it at 100% of the negotiated fee IF they receive it in the next 30 days. If they don't get it in the next 30 days then the hospital has to write it off and they aren't allowed to collect it from me. Either way I'm not responsible. Whew! But man the prices are outrageous! I had a hysterectomy at the same hospital last month and stayed as an inpatient and it was only $30K total.
  23. I do have an itemized bill now and everything is correct is just that they are billing an arm and a leg for every item. They billed 9K for the OR. 4K for the recovery room. $2400 for an anchor/screw, $33,407 for the band itself, $5100 for the scalpel, $3400 for an endoscopic suture device? It's just outrageous amounts. I had a family emergency yesterday so I didn't get to call my insurance but I will be calling them today. Legally the hospital CAN'T bill me b/c they are contracted with my insurance. They billed me first for these charges and didn't submit them to my insurance. I'm sure my insurance company will put an end to it today.
  24. Well I got a full medical release yesterday after having a hysterectomy last month. Now it's back to exercising for me! I think I really need it b/c I'm starting to lose my restriction now:(
