  1. I got my 4th fill today which brought me to 6 cc's in a 10 cc band. My surgeon said most people hit their sweet spot between 5 and 6. I drank Water and it went down fine. I'm on liquids now. I'm burping like mad and I sometimes feel like I have air trapped. Like I need to burp and can't. I'm not using straws or drinking anything carbonated. Is this normal or is my band maybe too tight? Earlier I was drinking some water. It went down fine but a few minutes later I got this overwhelming urge to throw up. My mouth started watering like mad and I fought the urge to throw up for almost 5 minutes until it passed. Is this normal? I go back on foods Thursday.
  2. Well I'm up to 6 cc's as of today's fill. I hope it does the trick for me. It took him forever to find my port this time. He was started to worry me but he finally got it.
  3. I'm getting another fill tomorrow. I plan to get my butt in gear now and get the scale moving again.
  4. I have to get recommitted to my diet and exercise. I go back for another fill on Tuesday and I'm hoping that helps but in the meantime I've finally found a great remedy for my tiredness/ lack of energy. I found this stuff called Hi Ener G at my local Kmart. It really works with no jitters or side effects. http://www.puritan.com/energy-244/hi-ener-g-500-mg-065455?NewPage=1
  5. Trying hard to start exercising every day. I did 30 minutes on my treadmill today. I only got 1.25 miles but that's a start I guess.
  6. I had restriction after my first fill but that went away. I called and they got me in for next week. I'm hoping that will help.
  7. I was banded in August of this year. I got my third fill a few weeks ago. I have no restriction and the surgeon said he'd do my next fill in 3 months!! I'm calling today to see if he will reconsider. I'd like another fill next week. I'm currently at 5.5 cc's in a 10 cc band.
  8. My weight is just permanently stuck right now.

    Congratulations!! You are doing awesome!
  10. Okay lately every time I have sweets, even just one piece of chocolate, I get indigestion for hours on end after wards. I feel full and I burp and burp and burp for hours on end. Why is that? Can any of you not do sweets anymore?

    Indigestion from sweets?

I can eat fatty stuff with no problems so I guess for me it's just the sugar??
  12. I started using Gas Defense. It's just a digestive enzyme. As long as I take it every day I don't have any problems anymore. http://www.digestiveadvantage.com/prod_gas.html I get mine at Wal Mart. It's $7.50 for a month supply.
  13. My doc said it's fine as long as you track points AND protein. Make sure your getting your protein in even if you have to have a shake or 2 a day. Most shakes are only 2 points each anyway if you make them with water.
  14. Is Designer whey a good brand to use or not? I know my surgeon is very against the Wal Mart brand stuff. He says that's not good quality Protein. So then how do you know if something is a good quality protein? Does Designer Whey fit that bill?
  15. They already billed my insurance $15K. My insurance paid $11K and wrote off the rest. Now the hospital is billing an additional $60K in charges. They said they actually charge $75K TOTAL for Lap Band surgery. They get $33K just for the band! I think that's ridiculous! They billed me for it b/c they tried to bill my insurance and my insurance denied their claim and said I was not responsible. Now I'll have to call my insurance tomorrow. I'm not worried about it. I know my insurance will either pay it or force them to write it off but that's an astronomical amount. Those of you that had insurance pay for your band how much was the total hospital claim?
  16. Put a call in to your surgeon and let them know. They may want to call you in some Phenergan.

What to do when exercise causes PAIN?

Okay. I never knew that. I've been wondering what the difference was for quite a while now. I'll be so glad when I hit my goal weight. My knees hurt even years ago when I weighed 155 but they didn't hurt nearly as bad as they do now that I'm in the 190's. I'm hoping weight loss will equal less pain.

What to do when exercise causes PAIN?

Thanks for the suggestion:) Now that you've lost the weight do your knees hurt less? Also I know this is sort of a dumb question but is there a difference between a spin bike and an exercise bike?
  19. I do occasionally. I've had it since yesterday and it's so bad. It's pain, pressure and bloating and it's around my port. It makes hard to stand up. How do I make it go away?
  20. yes with time it did go away. I don't have it at all now.
  21. Actually my surgeon doesn't want to give me another fill until the end of January!! I'm gonna call next week though and see if he will change his mind. If I could lose weight without a fill then I wouldn't have gotten banded in the first place you know?
  22. I think everyone just handles pain differently. I only had gas pain and I didn't need any pain meds for it.
  23. I'm not doing good at all. I have no restriction and I'm starving all the time. I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any in weeks either. Right now I'm very discouraged. I know it will happen eventually but right now I'm so unmotivated. It sucks to be hungry all the time but at the same time have trouble eating certain foods.
  24. Out of the additional $60K my insurance paid an extra $46K and wrote off the rest. That's ridiculous! I can't believe they charge that much for this darn band. It took them this long to process it though. They kept going back and forth on it.
  25. Congrats!!! He probably took it b/c most insurances pay about $2K even in network. That's probably the average of what he gets anyway.
