    I FINALLY did it!

Thanks guys!! Honestly things have been quite crazy for me so I may not be the best example of a good diet. I was banded in August then the first part of September I had a hysterectomy so I went quite a while with no exercise at all. I just made sure to watch my portion sizes and my snacking. Then in October my grandfather unexpectedly passed away so my diet got off track. Now though the biggest thing is I make sure I'm getting my Protein in and I jog 3 times a week.

    Still hate my band

First off before doing the procedure your surgeon should have sent you to a dietician/nutritionist. The Nut explains what you can and can't eat. A Nutritionist would have told you upfront that you still have to choose the right things to eat. They would also tell you that you probably won't be able to eat a hamburger b/c you won't be able to eat bread very easily. As for the baked chicken- I can honestly say I like chicken but I can't eat it anymore. It gets really stuck for me but I'm fine with that. I chose the band b/c after years of doing Weight Watchers and not being able to keep off the weight I know what I should be eating but I'm always hungry. Now my hungry is controlled which allows me to make better food choices. I'm really wondering if your doctor didn't educate you well enough before hand. A friend of mine had GB and still has to stay on Weight Watchers in order to keep the weight off. The surgery is not magic. You still have to put all your effort into it. I really wonder if your doctor didn't educate you well enough beforehand. If you haven't seen a nutritionist then I would go see one and also attend some Lap Band support group meetings. I've found those to be really helpful. What size band do you have and do you know how many CC's are in it?
  3. Last night I had this sudden realization- I only have ONE pair of jeans that fit me even closely and they are still a little big and leave me with a saggy butt but I don't go out much so I wear em anyway. Well, I start college next week. EEK. I'm gonna need some new pants before then. I don't want to wear the same pair to class every day but at the same time I don't want to spend much on new ones and I'm really broke after paying my tuition:( Sigh. Our thrift stores here suck. I've been there several times but rarely find anything. Who makes a good fitting but cheaper jean?

Ah I have the saggy butt:(

You know I'm not really sure what size I'm in. My 16's are really baggy but my size 14's are tight but then my 14's are 3 years old so maybe there's a difference in sizing now? IDK. I'm really frustrated. I have 7 pairs of jeans that almost fit but not quiet. I have 2 that I can get buttoned but I can't bend over in yet.

    Gained weight first day post-op!

All the IV fluids they give you also cause weight gain. Don't sweat it! It'll be gone in no time.

Ah I have the saggy butt:(

We don't have Marshall's or TJ maxx here. My friends are either way bigger than me or way, way smaller. LOL We do have one of those Lee factory outlets about 45 minutes away. I'm thinking about trying that.
  7. I got another fill yesterday that put me at 6.5 cc's. This morning I took my meds slowly and with warm coffee just to avoid any issues and that was fine. Now I'm drinking a shake and I swear I can feel it going down. It doesn't hurt but I can definitely tell I've swallowed something. It's just an odd feeling but normal I guess, right?
  8. I got another 1/2 cc today. I'm still coughing so hard that I can't even think about exercise this week:( But at least my weight is holding steady.
  9. Okay my weight has been so up and down. Before I got pregnant this last time I got to 174 and I was wearing 14's. The day I found out I was pregnant I was 196 and was wearing a size 16. I kept those jeans b/c the 14's were really my favorites. They were 100% cotton with no spandex or stretch in them. Here's the thing though I'm now 191 and I can't even wear the 16's:( They won't button and I know it's b/c my stomach and my weight is just in a different spot now but it's depressing me. I have some Old Navy jeans that I just bought in a 14 that are now too big but I still can't wear the old stuff hanging in my closet. When I try it on I get dissapointed that it doesn't fit. Should I just donate to someone and stop worrying with it? Or keeping losing and try to wear them again? Don't get me wrong I've lost like 35 pounds and I'm really happy with that I'm just confused as to why I'm such a different size now.
  10. Yes it's very normal. I had mine out after I had my son. The doctor said losing all the pregnancy weight caused my gallbladder to act up. I haven't noticed any problems at all since having it out. I had it done on a Friday and was a friend's party by the next day. It wasn't bad at all.

    Band Leaking ?????

I'm glad it went well for you!
  12. My surgeon says 1 cup of food per meal max.
  13. I need to try that. I'm always hungriest in the morning instead of at night.
  14. I found this belt advertised in a local magazine. It's called the Invisibelt. I have to wear a belt every day now to hold my pants up but I hate the bulge I get from the belt buckle. This works perfectly though. I just thought I'd share in case you ladies are interested:) http://www.invisibelt.com/TheBelt.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc I'm in no way affiliate with this company I just LOVE this belt! It definitely keeps me looking slimmer.
  15. Well my weight is holding steady at 191. I just can't seem to get into the 180's. I've had a cold for the last week though so no exercise for me. I'm puffing on my Advair inhaler just so I can breath sitting down. Hopefully in a few days I can at least start walking again.
  16. I searched around online and found a free shipping code for bare necessities.com. I ended up paying $20 with tax and shipping for mine and it arrived in 3 days.
  17. I should add it's a pain to adjust at first but once you get it adjusted to fit you it's great!!
  18. I must say this is the dumbest post I've read on LBT, No wait the second dumbest. I have read one even dumber than this if you can imagine. There must be something terribly wrong with me b/c when my fill level is right I'm not hungry or hungry or hungry, hungry, hungry.
  19. Well my surgeon says that if you have the right amount of fill that you WON"T be able to eat enough solid protein to get your daily requirements. The Low Carb Slim Fast is similar in stats to the Atkins shakes. I did look for them and the only place that has them is my local Sam's club. I'm not sure I want to try 24 cans at one time though. LOL
  20. I know exercise isn't supposed to be comfortable but for me it actually kills me. I have patellofemoral knee pain- basically my knee caps don't track right, they rub against my bones and cause horrible pain in my knees. I also have a pinched nerve in my back that causes pain in my leg. Most times I can't get through a 30 minute walk without being in extreme pain and when I try to really workout I end up with other pains. A few years ago I joined a gym. I worked out consistently and saw results but then I had to ditch the gym and start going to physical therapy instead. The exercise had made my knees flare up badly and I had illiotibial band pain- basically I couldn't move my leg/hip without it hurting horribly. I really want to start getting fit though. I'm starting to think my best bet may be to hire a personal trainer. What do you think? I mean that would be a huge expense b/c I would have to hire a trainer and a babysitter b/c I have no one to watch my kids while I workout but I've got to do something. Any tips/advice for me? Every time I see my surgeon he gives me heck about not working out:(
  21. Could you add unflavored protein powder to cold greek yogurt or would it curdle and get lumpy? Have you guys every tried this?

    Weight Watchers help

Yes you can do Weight Watchers with a band and it's very successful as long as your getting your daily protein in.
  23. I feel almost like I have air trapped in or above my band. Does that make sense? My band even feels a little tighter today than normal is that why I'm burping? It's not painful just annoying.
  24. I have problems eating chicken, it's just too dry, but I have some boneless skinless chicken breast that I need to use up. Do you guys have any ideas on how to cook them up so they will be moist?
