Oh man. I hope you are able to get an unfill soon and I hope your pain goes away. -
must be at restriction!!
spoiltmom replied to Beachbunny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much is in your band now? I have 6.5 CC's in mine and I still don't have much restriction. I'm losing weight and doing well but my surgeon says I'm still eating too much at each meal. Congrats to you!! -

Just go slow on buying new pants. I find that shirts last me quiet a while but I drop a pant size every 3 to 4 weeks. You really should go try on some new clothes. It's really fun and you'll be amazed at how much smaller you really are now:) -

spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that time of the month? I've been starving the past few days and nothing I eat makes me feel full. Around that time of the month it feels like I've lost all my restriction but if my pouch is still the same size then how can I be so hungry? Does that make since? -
I've seen some of you mention wanting one of these. Have you checked out this site? I got the link at Bariatric Eating. They are very, very pretty. Everyday Medical ID Bracelets for Women | Lauren's Hope

Anyone Banded due to health conditions vs very high bmi?
spoiltmom replied to Lunita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well Allergan the makers of Lap Band are currently trying to get the FDA to approve the band for people with a BMI of 30 WITH other health conditions. If they can get this approval then hopefully more insurance companies will cover it also. I think you did the right thing. My own surgeon says anyone with a BMI of at least 30 is a great candidate. Don't feel guilty. I did at first but I don't now. I couldn't be happier. -

Mortality Rate for Lap Band Recipients
spoiltmom replied to anastasia566's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know 4 other people besides myself that are banded. 2 of them have been banded for 5 years, the other 2 for 2 years and then I've had mine around 5 months. We are all doing excellent no issues what so ever. I think any time someone dies after having a surgery done the family is always looking to blame someone or something it's only natural. A relative of mine though had Gastric Bypass and died 4 months later. From what you ask? Not the surgery, she had a heart attack from a lifetime of being morbidly obese. Also when I was getting prepped for surgery the nurses that were assigned to me were Lap Band Patients also and used my doctor. They honestly told me they had never had any issues and were glad they did it. It was nice and comforting to me to know that they had been where I was and they were doing good:) -

Anyone Banded due to health conditions vs very high bmi?
spoiltmom replied to Lunita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What was your BMI to start with? Mine was 36 so I was on the borderline but like you I'm only 31 and my body is falling apart. I have arthritis in my knees, sleep apnea, GERD, high blood pressure and etc. I've been overweight since I was in high school. My insurance covered mine but only b/c my health conditions were so bad. I've never once regretted my decision. I do get those comments from my friends though. They don't think I'm fat enough for surgery and I took the easy weight out but then they are not in my body and experiencing the knee pain, poor sleep and etc that I'm dealing with. This is not the easy way out at all but for me I felt like it was my best bet for getting the weight off. -
Can we use Slim Fast Low Carb shakes?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These shakes are getting the best of me. I'm getting bored with the taste and I don't always have time to make them. I found Slim Fast Lower Carb shakes and their nutrition info and ingredients look similar to Atkins shakes but then my surgeon says any Protein from Wal Mart is crap and not good quality. What do you guys think? Here's a link: http://www.slim-fast.com/products/shake/w/wiki/Lower-Carb-Creamy-Chocolate-Shake.aspx?ProductID=16 -
OMG, OMG!! I'm wearing my favorite pair of jeans again:)
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A few years ago after having my dd I did Weight Watchers for a while. I never reached my goal weight but I did get down to 174. Anyway at that time I had this great pair of Old Navy jeans. They are bootcut and 100% cotton with a mid rise waist, so no sagging, no bagging, no stretching and no panties showing. I loved them. Well..... I'm wearing them today!!!! They are a tad bit tight but only in the thighs. I can't believe they fit again! I'm on cloud 9 now:) I'm on my way out the door for my first day back at college after a 10 year break. I'm so nervous but I had to tell you guys how happy I am that my pants fit again! -
How do you feel about drinking water to lose weight?
spoiltmom replied to nurseAMY11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me I drink 8 glasses of a water a day minimum. I have high blood pressure and fluid retention and the more water I drink the less water I retain. -
OMG, OMG!! I'm wearing my favorite pair of jeans again:)
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not really. I just eat a small amount of food and stop eating until my next meal time. I'm staying under 1200 calories a day and walking as much as possible. I've been sick with a bad cold and I still can't shake the cough so walking is about the only thing I can do right now. I got an Iphone and put the Lose It app on it. I use that to track every single thing I eat or drink. It's keeping me honest:) -

Iphone users is there a good food journal app?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm looking for something I can put on my Iphone where I can log my daily food intake and track my weight. Have you found any good apps for that? There are so many. I've been looking through them all but I thought I'd see if you guys recommend any. -
I'm finally at my next goal weight! After hovering between 191-193 for a month now I'm finally at 187!! I'm so excited! My next goal is to get to 179:)! I try and take it 10 pounds At a time.

I like Syntrax Nectars chocolate Truffle. I also like any vanilla flavor with some canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice added in. I just got some samples of Click espresso flavored Protein but I haven't tried it yet. It's supposed to be good if you like coffee.

Coughing? Is it reflux or just a cough?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About ten days my allergies started acting up. First my eyes were itchy and watery and then my head got stuffed up. Then I got a horrible cough and lost my voice completely. When I got my fill last week the doc warned me that a cough can be a sign of reflux but I told him I've been sick with my allergies so he said okay just keep an eye on it. My voice is back and I'm feeling better but I still have a slight cough here and there. It feels like the normal cough I would have with my allergies but if you had reflux from your band being too tight wouldn't you have other problems besides a mild cough? Edited to add: yesterday I had a stuck episode and I threw up a little. For about 2 hours after I threw up I did have acid reflux. I could feel the acid. I assumed that's normal but is it?
