Stopping BP meds

Well you could call your pharmacist and ask them if your pill can be split. If they say yes then try 1/2 of it for a few days and see how your pressures are. The most important thing is just knowing rather or not you can cut your pill in half.
3. Wow! Mandy B you look awesome! I swear you look at least 10 years younger now also:) Good Job! mnmommy07 You're looking awesome also! I love the hair:) I'm hoping to go shorter with mine as I lose weight.

Stopping BP meds

My PCP told me to try half a pill and keep checking my pressures then if they were still low try going without and keep checking my pressures. You should ask your PCP though because not all BP Meds can be split.

Dr. Oz about WLS Monday

I don't normally watch Dr. Oz but I'll have to check out the segments of this show that are online.
6. My sleep apnea was also causing me to have high blood pressure. As of 2 weeks ago I'm off my BP meds and my Cpap. I sleep great now!
7. I'm having a hard time getting into an exercise routine. For one thing I just can't seem to find time. I have 3 kids and they never nap at the same time so it makes it difficult. Anyway I know I NEED to exercise. I'm in college and I have to take (2) Physical Education courses. I can take something sedentary and easy like Bowling or I can take a real exercise class. They have one that gets you into a 2 mile a day walking routine and then another that will take you from walking into a 3 mile a day jogging/running routine. Now If I take these once I start I CANT drop them or I'll lose money and my credits so I'm thinking that would keep me in check. Also I'd be able to do it without my kids around so that's another plus. My only drawback is what if everyone else in the class is thin, skinny and active? I'm not and I'm sure at first I will have a hard time keeping up plus I'm thinking about taking them in the hot summer months so that will make it even worse. Would you do this? I think it's mostly a good idea..right?

I keep trying to figure that out also. I'd like to adjust the calories but I can't figure out how.
10. LOL! You're probably right:)
11. I have had depression for YEARS now. I'm on meds for it and they help most of the time, but lately I'm going through a rough spot and I'm depressed even with my meds. I think it's just temporary and it's due to a financial problem/situation but I'm hungry all the time, craving sweets constantly and I can't control my eating. I know it's directly related to the depression/stress because I was doing fine before this. Those of you that have depression, how do handle it?

14. There's a girl in one of my classes that I have a lot in common with. We've hit it off great and the professor put us in a group together for a class project. We were talking the other day and she's like I've lost 100 pounds. I had gastric bypass. So I admitted that I've had Lap Band. She basically rolled her eyes at me. She asked me how I ever weighed enough to have surgery, then she told me she started out at 350 pounds. She acted like it was only acceptable to do weight loss surgery if your 300 to 350 pounds to start with. Now I don't feel like telling her anything else. I think she thinks I took the easy way out and I'm not sure why. She's obviously dealt with the same struggles that I have. Why do I even let this stuff bother me?
15. I keep feeling like my band is full of air. It's hard to describe but this morning for example. It fell like it was full of air, like I needed to burp. I was drinking my coffee and taking my morning meds and I suddenly felt this odd feeling. I thought my pills were stuck. I ended up throwing up but it was only a small amount of coffee and no pills. I felt great afterwards. Lately when I eat I notice that I get hiccups a lot also. Is all this normal? I don't use straws or drink carbonated beverages so where is the extra air coming from?
16. Lately I have a lot of bruises on me and I don't know why so I went to my PCP to talk about it. She said it could be as simple as a Vitamin C deficiency. She did some lab work and said she will call tomorrow with the results but here's the crazy part: She says to me: It's been 8 months since you were banded why are you not at your goal weight yet? Why are you still losing weight? By now you should have stopped losing weight and been at your goal weight/maintaining. Has the surgeon said why you aren't at your goal? What does he intend to do to get you to your goal? I was like WTH??? It doesn't work like that. It still takes time to lose the weight. It's not a magic bullet. Seriously. I just explained to her that you still lose weight slowly with the band and that my band is not at it's maximum feel level. I also told her I figure since I only have around 30 more pounds left to lose that it's going to come off slower right? I'm not her only Lap Band patient so I thought she was more educated about it than this.
17. Are you logging your daily calories? If not you need to. If your not writing down everything you eat then it's hard to know how many calories a day you are really getting.

Constipation

I use natural calm. Mix a small amount of it with a small amount of Water. Stir it up well and let it sit for a few minutes then stir it again to help the fizz go away and then drink it. You drink it before bed at night. I love it. It works really, really great for me. http://www.vitacost.com/Peter-Gillham-Natural-Calm
19. Well I don't have my uterus anymore but I do have my ovaries still. I know when AF should arrive because I'm a bottomless pit. I go from getting stuck on 6 bites if meat to being able to eat roast and bread with no pain, sliming or stuck episodes. It's like night and day. I hate it and I'm still trying to figure out how to handle it.
20. I'm bruising really easy lately. My wrists look like someone has grabbed me and shook me. I'm thinking it's probably some sort of Vitamin deficiency or anemia but I'm wondering should I make an appointment with my PCP to check this out or my Lap Band surgeon? I mean would my surgeon know more about what to look for or not really?

Allergic Reaction

Do you have any other allergies? I ask because itching all over can also be an allergy to really anything. Trees, pollen, grass, dust etc. If nothing else see an allergy specialist and they can pin point EXACTLY what's causing it.
23. Tilapia and Click Espresso drinks:) I have started eating Tilapia several times a week. It's so good, quick to cook and it doesn't have a strong fishy taste to it. I love it broiled, grilled or quickly cooked in a skillet with a teaspoon of olive oil. I also got some sample of Click Espresso. It's great in the mornings! It tastes like a coffee drink and has caffeine just like my morning coffee but it's creamy like hot chocolate and has 15 grams of Protein. On days when I have class I don't have time for my usual coffee so I just make a Click drink and take it with me instead. Just thought I'd share.
24. My blood pressure is now 110/70 WITHOUT my blood pressure meds! I started this journey on 2 blood pressure meds then I went down to just 1 and now... NONE!
