HELP dont want to make a mistake
spoiltmom replied to Rosalinam.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Post op I put all sorts of soups in my Magic Bullet and purred them. If they were creamy I just added some water. They were actually really good like that and more filling than just broth. -
August Rush in bandland!

Sweets are my problem also. The richer it is the more I like it and the sweets always go down so easily! Congrats On your goal Monica! -
What do you use protein shakes for?

Also, meant to ask, when you goes for a fill do you feel like you're being picked apart? At my surgeons office the nurse talks to you first before the surgeon does the fill. They ask you 10,000 questions about what you eat and when. How much you drink and when. How much you exercise and when and what type. Then they tell you what you should do and tell you where your mistakes are. Sometimes it's discouraging to me because I mean, if I knew how to do this I wouldn't need a Lap Band. Does that make sense? -
Wanna see some before and after pics?

Thanks everyone! No real tips I just try to stay away from sweets- including sweetened beverages like tea. I try to not snack and eat lean meats at meal time. Lately I've been super busy with my college courses. Between that and my kids I stay so busy that I don't even think about snacking through the day. I feel SO GOOD about myself now! The only downfall is I'm spending more money than ever on myself. I have new clothes, jewelry, makeup, new haircut and color. Now I just need sone new shoes. Shopping is finally fun again!! -
What do I do?
spoiltmom replied to Hopes of a Dream!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hopefully someone here will have a suggestion for you but I'm thinking you might want to ask your doctor. It could be a yeast/fungal infection. -

I got some new jeans today in a size 10!!
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started this process out in a size 18/20! I can't believe it:) My band is still being really finicky. I haven't had any restriction at all for the past 2 weeks. I can even eat bread again. My weight is staying the same though so I'm okay with it, for now. I'm going to see about getting another fill in a couple of weeks though. My next goal is to wear a size 8. I can't believe I'm so close to single digits!! -
Taking new meds with weight gain as a side effect
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've suffered with anxiety and depression for years now and I've tried a lot of different meds and I still don't have a lot of relief from them. Yesterday my family doc said she thinks I have a very mild form of bipolar disorder. She got me a psych appointment but it's not until August. In the meantime the only other med she feels comfortable trying lists weight gain, increased appetite and slower metabolism as side effects. It will most likely make me gain, stall or have a much harder time losing the rest of my weight. But if it works I could be feeling better in as little as one week. Do I try it and risk the weight gain or wait until I see the psych doc? There are meds available that won't cause weight gain but my family doc isn't comfortable prescribing them without the psych doc seeing me first. I want to feel better but I think gaining weight back might make me feel worse:( -

I have some of the same questions. I'm about to schedule a consult for a TT. I think it's awesome that you only have to pay $2K! -

spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wow! I'm trying to settle on a goal weight and rather than a weight I have a size in mind. I want to be a 6. I'm currently a 10. Just wondering what to expect since I plan to have a tummy tuck. -

I was banded in August and I've lost all my weight since then so 9/10 months approximately. -
How did you pay or how do you plan to pay for your plastic surgery?
spoiltmom posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I think I'm going to pay for part of mine in cash and use CareCredit for the rest. I do hate to pay interest but I've lived with all this weight and extra skin for so long. I'm ready to complete the new me and I don't mind paying a monthly payment to do that. How will or how did you pay for yours? -

Oh wow! Way to go! -
Last summer before surgery, I bought some new Asics in a size 11. They fit awesome. Now they fit big and floppy, like clown shoes. LOL I need to buy some smaller ones.

Taking new meds with weight gain as a side effect
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started the new meds and so far, I don't know. I was on Wellbutrin and Prozac. The doc had me stop the Wellbutrin and start taking Seroquel XR. I wasn't going to try it. I was going to wait until my Psych eval but I was researching it and kept reading how it has a dramatic effect on both bipolar and depression and I'm so unhappy that I decided I had to try it. So far I'm sleeping better at night but that's the only thing I've noticed. We don't have ANY psychiatrists at all where I live. You have to drive 85-100 miles to the closest one and even then they are few and far between and most don't accept insurance. The psych I'm going to see does have me on a cancellation list but I just have to wait it out now. -
My band is making me CRAZY! Advice?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About a month ago I got a fill that brought me too 6.7 cc's. For 3-4 days afterwards I was fine. I felt no difference at all. Then I had 11 days where I was so super tight so I went back to my doctor. He said I had reached my max fill level and wouldn't need anymore for a while. He told me to eat slower and chew more. Okay then BAM for the past 10 days I've been able to eat ANYTHING! I'm hungry all the time and I can even eat bread again. I haven't been able to eat bread since November. I would like another fill but then again if I wait and do nothing then it may tighten up again on its own right? What should I do? -

I've lost about 6 pounds is all since my last fill. That shouldn't be enough to make a difference right? -

I'm almost positive my doc doesn't do fills under fluro. Should I just make an appointment and seewhat he says? -
I have little bruises all over mr lately. My wrist looks like someone grabbed me and wouldnt let go and I also have little bruises on my inner thighs....which has me stumped because they are so chubby how could they possibly be hit hard enough to bruise? Do you think it's just a coincidence or something nutritional that I'm missing?

Well a lot of my weight has left but...
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it has not helped my sweating issue at all:( I sweat like crazy, especially my face and scalp. My dermatologist said it's a condition called Hyperhidrosis. He said Botox can be effective in treating it. Have any of you dealt with this or found anything to help it? -

spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I was given Certain Dri the problem is most of my sweating is my Face, Scalp and the back of my neck. Since I also have sensitive skin I can't use the Certain Dri on those areas. I hope to see a derm about it soon and hopefully try something else. -
Allergic to the sutures!
spoiltmom replied to deidre's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that happen when I had my gallbladder removed but my body rejected the stitches completely and popped them out. I'd call your surgeon tomorrow and see what they say. I was given a prescription steroid cream to use on mine. -
Since my last fill I have days where I'm either so tight that I can't keep food down at all or I'm so loose that I can eat anything and everything and I'm starving all day. Today I've been able to eat things that I haven't been able to eat in months with no problem whatsoever. Why can't I find a middle/perfect ground with my band?
-
Either too loose or too tight:(
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you guys doing on loose days? It seems on those days I'm absolutely starving and I have a hard time staying below my daily calorie goal.
