I think your just healing still. Are you getting plenty of sleep at night?
-
With my clothing that is! I'm now in a size 8! I haven't been this small in 14 years:) I'm so excited. My goal was to be a size 6. It looks like I might get their faster than I thought. I was banded last August and started in a size 18/20.

I'm in the single digits now!'

You can easily make that! -
Is the band a sham????
spoiltmom replied to purple3797's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to work with it. Count calories and protein. Exercise and get your water in. -
I couldn't feel my port at first. Once I lost about 30 pounds then I could feel it.

I aim for 65 grams a day. How many fills have you bad? Do you feel any restriction? My weight loss didn't really get going good until my third fill.

No stuck episode but I'm swollen:(
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told bread might get stuck but that some people can eat it. I've had it twice this week. The first time it was no problem. Today I had it at lunch and it went down just fine, no pain or anything. Now 4 hours later I'm swollen. I can only take small drinks and I'm burping foam when I try to eat. I guess it's back to liquids for me and no more bread. I'm assuming the bread irritated my band right? -
Dh's grandma is so impressed with my weight loss,
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dh and I have been married 14 years. We lived next door to his grandma for 14 years. She now lives with my MIL and she suffers from severe memory loss. She asks me every single day what my name is, How many kids we have, if they are boys or girls, if we are married. I mean every single day. I don't mind, I understand the situation and answer all her questions. She can't remember my name, age, my kids or even that I'm married to my DH, she often says she's not sure if we are married or if we just live together she even asks if all the kids are mine and his or if they are split between us, however the one thing she can ALWAYS remember is that I used to be overweight. I see her probably 5 days out 7. Every day she tells me how great I look. How thin I look. How much better I look since I've lost all that weight. How great I look in my clothes and swimsuit. She even tells other people that are at my mother in law's house, Look at this girl- She has lost so much weight, I'm proud of her. She tells her nurses and even her physical therapist. Now, I enjoy the compliments but It suddenly dawned on me last night, how is it that she can't remember anything else about me but the one thing that is stuck in her mind is that I was OVERWEIGHT? Dh and I were sort of laughing about it because I promise you that's the only thing she does remember about me and I have no idea why. She can keep the compliments coming but now my Mother In Law can tell her doctor that her mind is completely muddled there is one odd little thing she never forgets. -
I ate a tiny piece of banana by mistake
spoiltmom replied to Bodacious Barbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You would know by now if it was stuck. You are probably fine just remember not to eat anything else:) -
Okay a couple months ago I was sick for 2 weeks. I went for a small fill and it was too much. I couldn't eat, I had days where it was all I could do to keep down Water. I went in and had some taken out and still the results were the same. I thought I needed another unfill but I kept sipping stuff very slowly and I mean tiny sips and finally after almost 2 weeks I was able to eat again with no problem. My point? Once you get stuck you swell and the swelling can last a while. Until it goes away completely you will keep having pain and nausea. I hope you feel better soon!

How much do you worry about the complications?
spoiltmom posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm planning to get a tummy tuck and breast implants. I want this so badly and I know people do this every day with no problems, but I have one person that I know that's making me feel horrible. She says people die from plastic surgery and since I'm a mom and have little ones at home I shouldn't be willing to take that risk. Part of me knows she is right, people can die from plastic surgery but then again, the risk is low. Do you worry about this? How do you put it in perspective? -
removal of the lapband
spoiltmom replied to imdeelightful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's possible that your band does have a small amount of fill in it from surgery. That small amount may be enough to curb your appetite. -
removal of the lapband
spoiltmom replied to imdeelightful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is not true.My Lapband surgeon told me that If I have it removed I will gain all the weight back. He also said if I'm not having any erosion or slippage that it could be left in me until I die-and I'm only 31. There's no reason to remove it just because it's been 5 years. -
You should call your PS tomorrow and ask. So far the 2 I've talked to said I would have to do an unfill first.

How much do you worry about the complications?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks everyone. I had a total of 3 surgeries last year and did fine with each. I just need to relax a little. -
Married ladies, did your dh go to your PS consult with you?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Oh he would definitely know I'm getting my thighs done but I'd rather tell him that it was one of the things that the doc noticed and said he could fix. Although, today I saw my sister in laws thighs up close and I feel much better with my own now. Hers look like mine and she's a normal weight. Hers was just from pregnancy weight gain. -
NSV: I was going to buy some new beach towels the other day
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
but then I remembered, a regular towel will actually wrap around me now and cover me up:) It's been years since that's happened. I decided to skip the beach towels. -
Who is using a BodyBugg
spoiltmom replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked about the BodyBugg a while back. Now I'm really wanting one! It's the most accurate way to figure out how many calories your actually burning every day right? -
August Rush in bandland!
spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kelly, I was just coming to post the same thing:) I'm not losing any weight but last night I was able to take my jeans off without unbuttoning or unzipping them so even though I'm not losing my waist is shrinking and I'm fine with that:) -
I currently weigh 160. I have about 20 more pounds to lose. I'm eating 1200-1400 calories a day. I get less than 100 grams of carbs and between 70-100 grams Protein. This week I added exercise. I've been doing 30 minutes on the treadmill daily. My weight has gone up a pound. A friend told me that I should eat more, but I'm scared to do that because I don't want to gain any more and I have a hard enough time eating the 1200 calories some days. How do you go about finding a good calorie goal?
-
I'm currently using my fitness pal but I'm stalled. It has me at 1200 calories a day.
-
Okay according to that my BMR is 1516. So I would eat 1000 calories a day right? But what exercise calories? If I'm burning say 200 calories a day exercising do I still eat just the 1000 calories?

spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Luck Monica!! I finally started back to college this Spring. We have 3 kids, ages 10, 4 and 1. It can be CRAZY at times! I've been exercising every day and you know what? It really does give me more energy. I would have never thought that. I feel great now and I hate to miss my workout.
