Let's Talk Exercise!
spoiltmom replied to livingmydream's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have now found that a 30 minute jog on my treadmill every day gives me energy to get through my day and helps with my depression:) -
I take my weight loss 10 pounds at a time. It took me forever to hit 169 but I finally hit it about 2 months ago. Then I stayed in the 160's for quite a while. As of today, I now weigh 158!!! I'm now at my pre pregnancy weight from my first baby and he's almost 11. The lowest I've ever gotten dieting on my own is 174 so I never thought I'd see the 150's again. Ever! I'm so excited now!

I hope everything goes well for you this time:)

August Rush in bandland!
spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just counting calories really. I use My Fitness Pal on my phone and log everything I eat. I stay under 1200 calories daily. I also go through phases of intense workouts. They last 7-10 days and then I wind up slacking off for a week or two. -
Highmark BC/BS .... kinda scary if it happens...
spoiltmom replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! Hopefully they will come to an agreement soon. Can you imagine how much money that healthcare system will lose by not being in network? I used to do medical billing, and the scary thing about trying to go out of network is, most of the time patients don't have the money to see you when you are out of network so they find a new doctor instead. The doctor I worked for was out of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield network for a while and he really suffered financially. -
Do any of you drink Hood Calorie Countdown milk?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not much of a milk drinker but I really like this stuff. What I'm trying to figure out is once you open it is it still good until the printed expiration date on it or is it only good for 7 days after opening? I ask this because I know some dairy products state that they are only good for 7 days once opened. Thanks! -
Actual picture of Lap Band inside ME!
spoiltmom replied to lifeisjustbeginning2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a picture of mine also but not like that. Mine is a colored picture and clearly shows my internal organs and the Lap Band around them. My surgeon gives 1 to every patient as a keepsake:) -
Thanks for posting this! I've been thinking about trying fish oil because I have clinical depression. Now I may order some. I looked at the Coromega but I thinking the consistency of it might not be doable for me. I don't like anything slimy, like pudding or jello.

spoiltmom replied to WinningLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. Call your surgeon's office right away if you show any signs of it. -
I met a new goal today...
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl I can't reward myself. I'm broke because I've rewarded myself so much lately:) I have more clothes in my closet than I've EVER had, EVER. There's so much cute stuff I can wear now. I can't stop shopping. Then DH took me out Saturday and bought me 5 more shirts- I didn't NEED them but they were cute so he thought I should have them. It takes me forever to get dressed now because I have so much stuff that fits, I just can't decided what to wear. -
Esophageal Dilation?? And no more fills?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you guys think it's even possible that's it a dilation? I'm not sure it even is. I mean from looking at the symptoms I have none of the typical symptoms, I'm just able to eat thicker/chewier foods when I'm 4 to 5 weeks out from a fill. It's like this every time though. At my last fill in May it was the same thing. I was able to eat chicken and bread and then I got a fill and couldn't eat those anymore. Then starting about 2 weeks ago I was able to eat them again. Now that I got a tiny fill yesterday I suspect that I won't be able to eat those foods for several weeks. I don't overeat and I keep my portions small. If it's possible that it is a dilation then I should go for a second opinion, the only problem is where I live at, the only other Lap Band doctor that takes my insurance is 100 miles away and since I have small kids at home it's hard to see a doctor that far away on a regular basis, you know? -
Esophageal Dilation?? And no more fills?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh and I should mention, I have no nausea, vomiting, reflux or heartburn. He just thinks because I can eat more my esophagus is dilated. -
Esophageal Dilation?? And no more fills?
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He said he could do a scan to see but he didn't think it was worth it since I'm so close to goal. So since I'm close to goal and won't be getting more fills does that mean it won't get any worse? -
port hurting more
spoiltmom replied to Awkward customer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't say mine exactly hurts but I have noticed that as I get smaller it seems like I'm using the muscles around my port more which makes it sore from time to time. Does that make sense? -
August Rush in bandland!
spoiltmom replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it does and as of today I'm now 158 pounds! That means I'm finally the same size that I was before I got pregnant with my oldest ds and he'll be 11 in September I can't believe it! -
Some people are SO IGNORANT!!!
spoiltmom replied to AlyGurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are so right! That ad itself is ignorant. I would definitely not use that medical practice. There is nothing easy about this but some people are so stubborn they will never believe that. -
Port in Upper Left chest
spoiltmom replied to blackmajyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems like it would be a bit uncomfortable. -
I know I'm currently on Wellbutrin and it has caused me to lose weight. I will be going off of it soon though so that will be interesting. I'm also on Prozac and have been for 2 years now. I haven't noticed a gain or loss with it either way. If my GP is correct about my diagnosis I will be going on bipolar meds soon. I hope they help me and don't cause weight issues for me.

I hate, hate, hate having depression:(
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the response. I still can't believe I've gone this long without knowing I may be bi polar but then again I bottle things up and never tell anyone how I really feel. I saw my GP back in May and just let it all out. That's when she was like oh you have all the signs, you really need a psychiatrist. There's a long wait here for a psych even with health insurance but at least it's finally coming soon. -
I've had it for so long now and it's never been controlled really well. Yes I take meds and they take the edge off but I'm still depressed. In May my PCP decided I should see a psychiatrist because she thinks I'm actually bipolar. My appointment is in a few weeks. In the meantime I've been depressed since I was 18. I'm 31 now. I don't even know what it's like to feel normal because I never have. I'm either really low or really high, I don't have in between states. I'm excited about seeing the psychiatrist and I hope he can fix things but what if he does and I find that I'm not at all the person I used to be. Will things stay the same in my relationship? Oddly enough, I've been depressed for the same amount of time that I've been married. I have a great dh so I don't think that's caused my depression but I have no clue anymore because I"m so lost I don't know who I really am. Okay I'm just rambling now but does this make sense to any of you? I just want to be happy and normal whatever that is:/

All the ready to drink stuff tastes nasty anyway. I stick to the powders:)

Do you guys know of a place that sells samples of the Muscle Milk light? I've been wanting to try it but I don't want a whole can of it just in case I don't like it.

Port in Upper Left chest
spoiltmom replied to blackmajyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What do you guys mean when you say it's in your upper chest? Where is it exactly? Everyone I know has there port in the abdomen right below the ribcage. -
Okay LADIES I need help please.....
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started out a D cup. Well lately my boobs are shrinking and my D cup is too big. So I bought some C cups, Granted I bought push up bras so maybe that's the issue but, my D bras were push ups also. Anyway, My C cups seem too small or something. My boobs end up pushed up over the edge of the cup so when I put my shirt on I get that 4 boob look going on. How do I find a bra that fits right? What size/brand should I try?
