    December Delights 2009

Hello Everyone, Things change with every fill and different excercise program and pretty much anything for me. Nothing is ever consistent. Sometimes I can eat with no issues, sometimes I have days when nothing cooperates. sometimes I even think the weather depends on whether I a good day eating or not, is anyone feeling this too? Its been 3 years and I still can't predict what to expect. My second part of this is I am looking meal suggestions. What does everyone eat everyday? I used to eat Soups alot for lunch and my doc said to stop doing that because it is slipping right through and making me hungry. would love to hear what everyone is eating these days. Any info would be great to get me back on track

    why hide lapband?

I have kept it a secret because I work with about 10 woman, there are several that are the most miserable judgemental people I have ever met in my life. I feel sad for them sometimes because they are involved in everyone else's problems and not their own. They would be the one's who will say they know everything on the subject and just make MY personal business something to talk about everyday instead of focusing on their own issues. I thought very hard and long about this because I do not like to lie, believe me it is so much easier this way. Years of exeprience has made me learn this is the way to go on this personal experience of mine. There are other places I could share this information with others but if I decided not to tell these woman I had to not tell mostly anyone in fear they would find out and feel like I betrayed them. It is a pretty big lie to live with but I am so glad I did because I hear how they are with other people and their personal business.

over 2 years since last fill

I know where you are all coming from reading your posts because I was constantly getting food stuck and spitting up, totally uncomfortble eating in front of anyone. I am going on a year and a half, 3 fills. Everytime I have had a fill My Dr says the same thing to me and the first time I ever actually listened clearly was my 3rd fill (after a year) and he is so right, I just never listened. He said no more than 1 cup of food, chew your food 25 times, after you take a bite do not take another for 2 minutes. I finally heard his words and did this and have had barely an issue. I started out with an actual timer to time the 2 minutes. I dont think I truly understood how this worked until my 3rd fill, maybe I am still learning. But I am so happy I finally really listened. It has taken away alot of anxiety for me. I was definitely was all about eating too big of a portion. So take a 8 oz cup measure your portion and take your time - stop when your full. I was eating slow but eating too much which caused the vomiting. Hope this helps you because it finally helped me.

    Too Tight or Just Right

Thank you so much for this post. I have not been filled since June and there are a few days each months that are impossible for me to eat and by the time I start to worry I can eat again. Well this month, I have had a problem for the last week and a half. Yesterday I could finally eat normally again and tonight I had an issue again. I realize I am not alone. I can't figure out for anything what make this happen on certain days but I need to analyze now exactly what I am eating when it happens. I will have to start to write things down. Again, these post are really so helpful, Thank you.

    Sweet spot

Thanks Skinny Girl. I appreciate your input and great job doing what your doing. I am so unsure of myself, and I am trying to learn as I go. I literally feel like I have had to learn to eat all over again. I realize I can talk to my doctor but I have all of about 15 minutes usually to discuss anything and usually feel rushed so I am doing my research now. I am starting to feel anxiety over this. Thanks Again.

    Sweet spot

Thanks Sunnee Congrats to you too!! I have gotten stuck many times but I believe that was eating to fast and eating food that was too dry, both I have tried to stop doing. I can't really make heads or tails to this pattern because one day I can eat scallops and they will get stuck and one day that will be fine. Pork Chops are a problem for me. But I don't know if my habits are the reason I get stuck, I can eat portions larger than a handful like my doctor says so I know I am not at restriction, but is that my sweet spot. I also feel like you I am lingering around the same weight I was in March. Not much of a change at all and that is with exercise.

    Sweet spot

Hello All, I have my six month follow up coming up and I am trying to figure out whether I have actually reached my sweet spot or if I am just experiencing different foods that get stuck sometimes when I eat. I have really needed to learn how to eat slowly and chew my food and the things they tell you to do and now that I have accomplished this I very rarely get food stuck. I was feeling pretty good but my doctor is going to ask me if I think I have reached my sweet spot and I just still am not sure what that is. Can anyone give me some ideas of how you know you have or not? :Dancing_biggrin::ohmy::ohmy::unsure:

I love your blog, I can totally relate to some of your storys. Its so nice to have someone know what your going through. PS your lucky you have not had to experience PBing and slime. That is the worst experience for me, I am constantly working on that one.

Hi Mandze, I kind of feel like that too. I was trying to walk every day and I had about 2 weeks that I could not excercise and then I was back at it again. It is so much easier with nice weather to get out there and walk. When it is not nice I bought an excercise bike and Wii, Wii Fit is fun and works good. I have learned only lose on the weeks I excercise, I am learning alot lately.

I ate a salad, some lobster, mashed potato's and a piece of bread. No problem with any of that, although I never have trouble with salad.

MORE restriction at night - HELP

Thanks Betsy  This is all a learning experience and my experiences change so much. I am so glad there are people like you to chat with because sometimes I start to think something is wrong but I don't want to call my nutritionist every 5 minutes, I think she see's me enough. Thanks again.
