size ? How many have you gone down?

Right now, only 6 months out, I have dropped one pant size (26 to 24) and a couple of shirt sizes (4x to 2x). However, with scrub pants I can wear a 2x. I guess it really just depends on where you carry your weight.
  2. I had my period a week before surgery. Then a couple of days after my period, I got it again and it was very heavy. It lasted for 2 weeks. I think the anesthesia had something to do with it. 4 months after my surgery, my periods are pretty normal.
  3. Behaviors aren't forced. Google defines behavior as a "manner of acting or controlling yourself." No one forced you to drink with your meals. You chose to do it. You went into the Lap Band surgery knowing well enough that you won't be able to drink with your meals. So, please explain how you were forced to drink with your meals...
  4. I have no idea how much is in my band. All I know is that I have the standard 10 cc band. How much in your band doesn't matter. Let your surgeon worry about that.
  5. Is this a typo? Do people want to have dumping syndrome? I've heard of people having bowel movements on themselves in public. Gosh, I seriously hope that was a typo...
  6. I agree. IT'S NOT MAGIC. IT'S HARD WORK!
  7. If you have the money, invest in a personal trainer. Heck, I don't have the money and I did it anyway. When I'm not with my personal trainer, I do cardio. I do 15 minutes on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the bike, and 15 minutes on the bike thingie that you sit on. In all, it's an hour of cardio. It hardly feels like it though.
  8. Are you exercising? Exercising is so important. Are you burning more calories than you consume?
  9. I agree with everyone. You need a psychiatrist and not a surgeon. You obviously have issues with food that you need to work on. No amount of surgery is going to "fix" your mental issues with food. You're only getting angry because you know what these people are telling you is the truth. Just face the truth first.

    Bodybugg alternatives

I have the bodybugg. I love it! With it, I can easily lose 2-3 pounds a week. Here's a deal that's going on: BodyBugg System - From Apex Fitness Group That's pretty good considering I paid over $250 for the armband and the digital display.
  11. Are you eating healthier and exercising? That is so important. With the band, you absorb everything. The band is just the tool, you have to work with it by eating healthier and exercising.
  12. I think people are more likely to take the extra time to chew junk food than healthier food because it tastes better.

    scared

I was very nervous. I have never done anything like this or had any type of slightly major surgery. For me, it did hurt especially the port incision. I couldn't sleep in my bed for 2 weeks. I slept on the couch and the was the most comfortable place me to sleep. It will pass though. You will heal and everything will be ok!

    Annoyed at my husband

Honestly, I've come to realize that I shouldn't expect the people around me to change just because I am. And I think everyone else should realize the same thing too. My mom brings home doughnuts, ice cream, little debbie treats, etc. That's her choice though, and I can't stop her. I can't expect her to change. I can't make that decision for her.

I will be unbanded August 24th

Awwww. I'm so sorry. Hopefully, you can work with a nutritionist and a personal trainer to keep you healthy.
  17. I've read where all of those shoes that claim to tone up something are a rip-off. I suggest spending the money at a gym.

    Microwave eggs?

I do mine on the stove. It really doesn't take long. It only takes a couple of minutes for scrambled eggs. Lately, I've been eating an whole wheat english muffin with microwave turkey bacon, cheese, and one egg white. It takes maybe 5 minutes to make. I toast the heck out of the english muffin so it won't get stuck.

Hair loss with the lap band.

I think I agree with the anesthesia people. I wonder how many of us were malnourished before being banded? I wonder how many of us ate crappy junk food with no nutritional value, but didn't lose our hair? My hair is falling out too, but I really haven't noticed any bald spots.

    Personal Question

I am being nice. I was just telling her that her "sex hole" is called a vagina. I think everyone should know the correct terms for their body parts. :scared2:

    Personal Question

Sex hole? Are you serious? It's called a vagina if you didn't know. :scared2:

    Any ideas for breakfast?

Have you tried egg substitute? Lately I've been making a bacon, egg, and cheese whole wheat english muffin. A english muffin is the only type of bread that I can eat. I toast it twice though. So it's hard and I have to chew a long time, but I do really enjoy it though.

    LB Friendly RESTURANTS!

I usually just order off the adult menu and take the rest home for lunch and possibly dinner the next day. :scared2:

    Speed Eater!!!

I was a fast eater. I still kind of struggle with it a bit. But once you get stuck and stuck and stuck I guess you end up "learning." Everyone in my family eats so fast! It's amazing. What I do is take a bite, put the fork down, and try to chew the hell out of it.
  25. I had my period a week before surgery. Then a couple of days after, I got it again. This time it lasted for 15 days with the last 7 days being the heaviest. I think it was the anestesia.
