I will not weigh every day. I just had to weigh again this morning because I know night weight and morning weight are different. I do plan on losing big numbers though. I plan on getting back to my exercise plan which is cardio and weight lifting. I lose a lot doing that. I am excited. Thanks for the encouragement.

Okay, I found my scales and weighed yesterday. Five days after surgery, I have lost 13 lbs. I weighed again this morning and am down 2 more. I am so excited. I saw another post from a lady banded on the same day as me and she too had lost 13 lbs as of yesterday. Wow, what results. I didn't think I would see them so fast, but I guess the change in diet and lack thereof will show dramatic results.

Well, I was banded on September 22, 2006. It did not take me long to decide that I wanted to try this tool. Surgery went great. I had my gallbladder removed and the lap-band placed. I am doing well. I have little pain. The hardest thing is getting up and down in bed because I am afraid of using my ab muscles and it is a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, I think all is going great. I am trying to take it easy at home for the first week post surgery. I have to watch myself because I will do more than what I need to be doing around the house. I have not weighed yet, but I feel like I have already lost some weight from the diet and not wanting to eat after surgery. I do not want to weigh until I go to the doctor. I don't want to be discouraged in what the scales say anyway.

Thanks for the welcome want2lose. I just don't see how anyone can get enough protein from Slim Fast. I have Myoplex Protein powder from EAS, but I am looking for something different and since the hospital recommended it and it appears to be a really good product, I thought I would try it. :clap2:

To those looking for more protein, try this website. http://www.unjury.com/ I ordered some Unjury Protein and am waiting for it to come in. It is 20 grams of protein per scoop. You need 60 grams per day. This protein was recommended to me by the hospital. You can add it to any recipe. Hope this helps.

I had my surgery on 9/22/06. I am at home trying to take it easy and heal. I have been looking for some ideas for an after surgery diet, Stage 2. Good luck to all!!

September 14, 2006 - First Day of Serious Consideration

Today I told a friend at work that I was having gallbladder surgery next Thursday and she asked if I was going to have the Lap Band done also. She also pointed out that the same incisions are made for both procedures. I thought, "Mmmmmmmmmm?" That sounds like a good idea. She had the surgery done back in March and we have talked about her experiences some and she is really looking good. So, I have been calling doctors' offices and my insurance company trying to find out as much as I can. After about an hour and a half after being on the phone with everyone, I told my husband I figured out what I wanted for my birthday (October 1st) and he asked what. Lap Band! What is that he asked as he played Pro Bass Fishing on PS2. I explained what it was, how it works, and that I could have it done at the same time as my gallbladder surgery. I told him about my concerns about gaining more weight after my gallbladder surgery due to the fats being absorbed instead of running right through me. He said if that is what I want and it will make me happy then do it. Yippie Yah Whooooo!!!!! I will talk to the doctor's officer tomorrow and find out about costs and make appointments. I will be able to go to Seminar on Saturday and still schedule my surgery for next week, only with Dr. Spivak instead of Dr. Shulka who would have only taken my gallbladder out. I'm so glad my friend mini_me encouraged me and pointed out the fact that I could do this too!!!! I owe her much THANKS!!!!!!! -
Girl, you are a nut!!!! I love ya though!
