My doc had told me before hand there was a small chance he wouldn't be able to do the conversion but really expected it to be fine....I cannot tell you how broken hearted I was when I woke up and mom told me he'd had to delay the RNY....hopeless, I felt so hopeless. However, here I am 11 days post op from the RNY finally!!! I can't help but occasionally think where I'd be now if I was 6 months post-op....but he said with all the inflammation I had, he would have had to have made my pouches Bigger to get a safe staple line....I do not need a bigger pouch thank you very much!!!! so likely you'll all be fine and able to do it all in 1 surgery, but even if you can't, it's still worth it!!! I couldn't figure out what was up!!!! Every time I peed I had this sharp burning pain through my crotch...I was baffled. As soon as that stupid drain was pulled pain was instantly gone! It was just rubbing on stuff. Make sure you take a dose of pain meds an hour or so before they pull that east out though!!!! Oh my lord, I think the post is under the fab feb post-op thread....my surgeon got crazy and decided he would make my bowels wake up although I assured him if he left me the hell alone by the next morning I would be just dandy...he would have none of it! 2 suppositories and 2 enemas later with my behind on fire and me in tears he finally agreed to leave it be...and guess what?!?!? The next day things were fine and dandy....my butt will never be the same!!!! I was so mad...if he'd just listened..... My surgery was Monday, about midnight on Saturday I woke up throwing up with fever and terrible diarrhea....I spent all night throwing up or crying cuz I knew they were going to cancel me!!!! I was SO upset!!!! Passed about noon on Sunday and no one ever had to know about it! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!!! Currently in the process of baking 4 dozen cupcakes and 2 batches of brownies for a brownie toffee trifle for my son's Blue and Gold ceremony for Cub Scouts tomorrow!!!! My house smells heavenly and I'm not at all hungry. This not hungry thing rocks! I am so going to miss it when it's gone!!!!!! But then there are people who have no pre-op while others are dying on shakes or those who are on liquids a month post-op and others who are on essentially normal foods a few weeks out....focus on your journey and how great you are doing, being irritated at others is taking away from the joy you should be feeling for yourself!!!!
