    Fabulous February Post-Op's

It's fine. We shall continue to be friends, now without benefits (darnit! The benefits were amazing!!!) and see what develops. I'm not expecting anything at this point. He's a great great friend, that I don't want to lose. His son adores me and wishes he could trade his mom for me, my son loves him and would live over at the 'boys house' doing boy stuff I given half a chance . We shall be fine, friends, lovers, or others, it all works out.

    worried

Really there's no a lot you can do....time the underlying muscle (this won't shrink the skin), keep the skin moisturizers....the vast majority of it is going to depend on genetics, age, how long you've been obese, where you carry your weight, etc....but choose, healthy and saggy or unhealthy and not saggy?

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

I am bored with food...only eat cuz I have to or I get queasy. I know this will go away and I'll get hungry again but what a totally bizarre feeling to just not care if I eat!!! A week after my lap-band I was ravenous and miserable, this is totally wild! We had a drug rep bring in BBQ today. I had maybe a 1/4 of squished up beans with a little shredded pork mixed in, ate a little over half. Coulda stopped at 2 bites cuz really just didn't care if I ate or not. Not even really craving bad stuff either. My first post-op check-up is next Friday. Curious to see what they think of my progress. I think I'm doing dandy then read stories on here about people losing 20 lbs a week or expected to lose 60 in a month and I'm like WHOA!!! Really??? Lol that would be sex....I want for their to be the potential for a future, that's all I'm asking for. He says no never again. I can't continue with the relationship we have without at least a chance it's going to go somewhere. We will still be friends, our boys are in school and scouts together and are best friends so we see each other a fair amount. He is a great, great guy with an amazing heart that just got trampled, if he figures out how to break down that wall around his heart and I'm still here I guess we will see what happens. I'm guessing he won't take that wall down for a very very long time, if ever and that is really sad because he's a really good person and he's born to take care of others....just how he's wired.

    Drinking

I too was under the impression as long as you aren't taking huge gulps you'll be fine. Physiologically I can't see how liquids would stretch a pouch. They're going to follow the path of least resistance and that would be up or down, not stretching.....but then I'm not a doctor

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Sadly he's like my best friend and I'm madly in love with him....it's frustrating though, I've had numerous people come up and say ' how long have y'all been together, he is just totally smitten with you' or 'wow I wish my husband treated me like he treats you'.....I'll watch and wait and I'll survive, just a little heartbroken right now (been through worse and came out on top though!) Fabulous February Post-Op's

Ugh, long story. I have this 'friend' we've had an interesting 6 months. He does everything possible for me, took my son for the weekend when I was first post-op (did his laundry while he was there!!!), fixed my car when it had issues a couple months ago, spent last weekend while we were camping making my hot tea for me so I wouldn't freeze to death. Worries about me like my mother does. It's crazy sweet. We've been having our own grown up slumber parties for about 5 months when we can both get rid of our sons for a night....it's been a lot of fun and it's been very sweet, and he makes me feel safe, and cared for, and loved. However he is very scarred from a very bad marriage and won't let down that wall around his heart. It is very very sad to see such an amazing man limit himself because of one damn woman. So long story short, I want more, I want a real relationship, he doesn't, I'm heartbroken and had a rough couple days. The really crummy part is that he's like my best friend now. If I'm upset he's the one I turn to, except I can't. Just sad, I'll survive. And frustrated he won't let down his guard at least enough to give us a chance. There's my man drama!

My surgery is this thursday march 7

My pain hasn't been intense, I get more relief and comfort from the heating pad then from anything else. Gas-x strips to cut down on post-op gas some people have. HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 233.4

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Very carefully!!! I'm supposed to drink 16 oz of diluted fruit juice a day. Before I leave for work I mix 12 oz of apple juice with 12 oz of water and a fuzzy navel Syntrax nectar. That's 24 oz of fluids and 23 or 24 grams of protein, I fill it with ice and sip on it throughout the day, I estimate by the 3 or 4 times I refill with ice that I'm getting 30 ounces of Fluid from that plus I sip on a 16 ounce water bottler during the day....trying to work up to 2 bottles but haven't made it so far!! I have a set Breakfast, lunch, dinner time (give or take 30 minutes or so) and usually do a snack late morning (almost always a cheese stick cuz I can nibble and walk away). The rest of the fluid I do in the evening. If I'm short on protein I add either 1/2 or a whole syntrax double stuffed cookie made with 1% milk (I've only had to do that 2 or 3 times). I am a single mom with a deceased ex and a full time job. I have to do what I have to do and while I understand there are certain lifestyle changes I have to make for this surgery to work, it also has to work with my life....the one thing I have not gotten a handle on yet is adding the exercise. I can do it on weekends but honestly after standing and walking all day I am barely making it home and getting dinner made at night I am so tired. I was actually feeling not totally worms out when I got home tonight and thought we would go for awake only to discover once I got here that a portion of our privacy fence had blown down today and our rotten puppies could escape. I had to do an emergency fence repair and goodness by the time I got it back up and screwed on I was worn out.... So no walk today! I'm not stressing the exercise too much yet since I'm only 3 weeks post- and extremely active all day long....I'm hoping a I heal I'll be able to start handling it....
