Off to my one month post-op check up. As of this morning I'm down 14 (naked so it'll be 12 ish at his office) I swear I think it's All boob darnit! The kids first day of spring break is today so I took the day off and am taking my son and his BFF to hike the biggest freaking mountain in the universe today....I will regret that choice tomorrow . It's supposed to be 78 and sunny so great day to go play!!! Happy Friday! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 226.6

    What ya eating tonight?

I do think there's a kind way to say 'hey, I'm concerned about what you're doing' and a not so kind way. However Madame Hippie is not concerned so I will not be either. Great day to all of you and good luck on your journeys. I am out of this discussion.

    What ya eating tonight?

I also look forward to seeing what you've eaten, because you're eating real food!!! I'm thrilled so many people can get bypass then never eat carbs again, or never eat anything bad for then again, yeah for them but for me this took is on help me decrease the amount I eat. Yes I eat healthier and plan to continue that, but yes I do plan to have a slice of pizza or a chicken wing once in a while. Do what you need to do for yourself and keep up the good work!!!

    Advice.

Yes it's still a revision, first surgery with them but still a revision. If it was me, I'd get back in with my bariatric surgeon ASAP for a possible fill/unfill and to discuss options. You want her records to show that she is currently actively trying to lose weight... Good luck!!! Life without that stupid band is heaven!!!! 10. Bought a ninja pre-op and love it! Love that i can do small individual sizes or a pitcher full....never used a bullet though.
  11. Depends on if your butt is just gone or if it's saggy skin....saggy skin doesn't shrink with exercise....strengthening the underlying muscle and giving it definition will help a little but sadly sag is sag. Cycling or jogging both are good on the butt though!

    Food Portions

I've been allowed oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc since I left the hospital. Friday is my 1 month check up and I'll be released to eat whole wheat toast, well cooked Pasta, and brown rice as well as start soft fruits and veggies.... Just because 1 doc doesn't allow you to have a certain food doesn't mean the rest of us are cheating or breaking the rules, perhaps our rules are just a bit different. Once I'm on regular foods (about another month) I'm specifically supposed to have a Protein, a starch, and a fruit or veg with each meal, protein heavy and protein first of course. My doc is a firm believer in eating a well balanced meal to maintain health, this includes starches...in moderation. I'm in agreement and glad he's not one that says nothing but protein. Band to bypass disappointment.....

My doc made me wait 6 months between band removal and bypass cuz he said if he'd done it when he did the band removal he would have had to have made a bigger pouch. Ack!!! Fingers crossed its just a flue and all is okay!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 231.4

Yay!!!!! Full day of work, plus parent teacher conference and for the first time since surgery I had enough energy to go out and take a walk after work!!!!! Granted, I'm exhausted now but almost felt like a normal human being tonight!!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 231.4
  16. Sure, hit me up too! Christiemr@aol.com
  17. I needed someone to drive me home from th hospital, after that I was fully able to take care of myself. Slowly...but I could do everything I needed. I was back at my house alone with my 8 year old at 6 days post-op doing laundry, cooking for him, etc (my son has done all the major lifting for me though!).
