Monkey, LOVE the profile picture!!!! Love it love it love it!!!! RV! Welcome to February, or March, take your pick! Your weight loss is fabulous!!!!!! I went to outback for dinner, got soooo queasy coming home I thought I was gonna die....dunno if it was dinner or I got car sick but bleh!!! However, my grilled scallops were the bomb and the 2 bites of asparagus I had we're delicious. My friend (who wants to be more than a friend....why can't the men in my life get straightened out???) had an 11 oz steak, added a lobster tail and coconut shrimp, and scallops and ate every bite of his sweet potato with brown sugar and butter and drowned his salad in thousand island, ate the entire loaf of bread and had at least 5 or 6 sweet teas....I was horrified.....I estimate without the tea he was well over 2000 calories, at least. So, my zofran and I are off to bed! Have a good one!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 226.6 -

How Many Calories am I supposed to have each day
SoccerMomma73 replied to Jill Klein- Auerbach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist basis it on how far post-op you are.....the first month is 600-800 calories then it goes up to 1000 or 1200.....the first couple weeks I was in the 400-500 range pretty regularly. You're a rebel!!!! I'm all about lifestyle changes and taking advantage of the tool we've been given. I truly am, so I hope no one takes this wrong. Yup I really would prefer to learn how to eat healthy but also realistically. I want to be able to eat a couple bites of pizza or birthday cake, or cheese dip...I don't want to be able to eat 6 slices of birthday cake, 1/2 a pizza, or a gallon of ice cream! -

You slowly increase your caloric intake until you find the right balance and stop losing.
-
Truly, that's not a slow loss, your loss is excellentZ. I was told to expect 2-4 lbs a week and you are well above that at just shy of 6 pounds a week. I don't understand why you're having so much difficulty eating, that concerns me and absolutely needs to be discussed with your surgeon!!!! Good luck and stop being so hard on yourself!!!

Sometimes when I'm here I talk about the bad and forget to share my joy. This is my joy. He hung out with his BFF and his mom today and she took em to play racquetball for the first time. He loved it! One of these days I'll sit down and write out our story of how we got where we are today. This amazing young man and I have the best lives and best family...he is my heart. Anyone on the emotional side a bit?
SoccerMomma73 replied to mfee08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the added joy of a relationship ending,my perfect 8 year old son starting to get in trouble at school for the first time ever, and, most importantly, my mom is on a kidney transplant list (has been for almost 2 years), a week and a half ago she got called to the hospital for work-up, there was a donor on life-support and she was #1 to receive the kidney.....about 8 hours later the called and she wasn't a close enough match to the donor so she was being sent home.....this one really hit me hard :/. I know everything happens for a purpose....mom is doing great, so great that she's not on dialysis yet, the start when her levels hit 10 and she's stayed steady at 11-12 for 2 years solid....it's amazing considering how quickly she was decreasing beforehand. I think we have the kid issue worked out but that was totally draining. And the relationship is what it is, he is an amazing man and I'm blessed to have he and his son in our lives, they are great friends, I just have to one to terms with the fact that that is all we will ever be.... Add the surgery stress, fatigue, overall not feeling well, crazy hormones and what is apparently becoming a weekly crisis in my life, I am fried!!!! And tank you, we're all pretty much rock stars when you look at how we do this and all we do! Vitamins and other medications
SoccerMomma73 replied to AmandaPoplin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
FYI I've been taking extra strength Tylenol tablets since 4-5 days post-op without issue. I also take ambien as needed and don't have to crush it. Talk to your doc, they may be fine with you taking pills as long as they aren't huge. Also many meds can't be crushed safely, ask your doc or pharmacist first just to be safe!
