    Fabulous February Post-Op's

I've lost like a pound or pound and a half in 3 weeks. Put on a shirt that was snug 3 weeks ago and it swallowed me....my coworkers swear my boobs are enormous now???? Perhaps my fat is just all rearranging to better places??? HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

    foods cooked in oil

If it helps....oil and grease won't cause you to stretch, amount will . Breathe, you'll be great! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

    foods cooked in oil

I'll tell a what my surgeon told me, everything in moderation. Base your diet around lean Protein and healthy carbs (yes we get Pasta and bread) with fresh fruits and vegetables...and you'll do fine. Avoid sweets and fried fatty foods but IF you can tolerate em, they are okay once in a while..... Fabulous February Post-Op's

So decided to try Eggface's famous bites, had leftover ham so did the ham and cheese bites....kicked my butt and came back to haunt me! So, no more eggs for a couple weeks!!!! I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since surgery. CRAZY!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

    Aunt Flow during Surgery?

It makes no difference at all and they deal with it all the time. You'll likely get a 'sexy' pair of mesh panties to wear and a pad about the thickness of a toilet paper roll....I do recommend bringing your own feminine supplies! More of an annoyance for you than anything HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

    Band to RNY..first steps

Good luck!!! Life without the band is awesome!!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

  11. I'm with Debbie....no horror stories about the RNY. I had some pretty miserable fatigue the first month and have had some nausea issues off and on (thank God for zofran) plus I'm fairly sensitive to some carbs so I have had the joy of dumpling.... All that said, I was back at work 9 days post-op, camping with cub scouts 2 1/2 weeks post op, have had maybe 5 doses of pain medicine since I left the hospital (I did love my heating pad the first month though!!!), I haven't thrown up, I can eat anything approved by my doc (including bread, steak, ham) but I do eat slow, take tiny bites, and chew well. I did break my rules Friday and had salad for lunch, I'm approved to start it Monday so I was 3 days early. I had no problem. Every once in a while, if I take too big of a bite, I'll get a heavy feeling in my stomach but that passes in a few minutes. I feel good! The pain is gone (an occasional twinge if I move just right), my energy is back to normal (or better), I do get hungry once in a while but 4 or 5 bites takes care of it, my moods are back to normal, and my ass is shrinking. Life is good and I'm a very very lucky girl! Now, lap-band horror stories, I can give you many!!!!! 15. I can only tell you that my surgeon says after a prolapse you are at increased risk of repeat prolapse and he prefers not to do a second band for this reason.

    My firness pal adds

My BFF and an ex-boyfriend both got sleeved about a year and a half ago. She's lost 20 ish pounds and probably had 80 to go....he initially lost around 50 but it's creeping back, he's got at least 125-160 to lose....so the only 2 sleeved people I know haven't done well...she's a soda addict, he never exercises...there are reasons they haven't done well, but yeah, no sleeve for me!!!! What ya eating tonight?

I've been wanting em but was worried about ham...had it for Easter and had no issues at all PLUS mom gave me the ham bone with just a TON of meat left on it so sorta 'forced' me to make em . Will definitely be a semi-frequent dinner here too since my boy-o loves em as well. HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225
  18. Liquids follow the path of least resistance which will be up or down but not out and stretching your pouch. As long as you aren't chugging and causing pain you'll be fine. I've been able to take fairly normal swallows since immediately post-op, doc said good for me . food however is a different store, slow slow slow . You'll be okay!!!!! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225
