    Greek chicken salad from Quiznos...as you can see, it was over kill, ate about half the chicken, cheese, and garbanzo beans and maybe 3 pieces of lettuce and am about to explode..but it was yummy.

    Dumping

    It typically takes a decent carb load to cause dumping and it typically is simple carbs. a bite or two or cake or baby Ruth is likely not enough to cause it. A full sized baby Ruth has 39 carbs, my guess is, IF you're a dumper, you'd have to eat at least 1/2 a candy bar if not more. You may never dump, but be careful and don't push your luck!

    1/2 of a 6 inch subway club ( folded the 6 inches of meat in half, threw away the extra 3 inches of bread plus pinched off the edges of the bread, so yeah, maybe 1/4 of the 6 inch bread total.     Dumping

    Cream of wheat. I was 3-4 weeks post-op,it was approved, I had about 1/2 a cup, but I hadn't eaten anything else all morning, had no Protein in my system at all and it was just to large of a carb lad for my system. After experimenting, I now know I can eat ream of wheat but I have to have t least 1/2 of a Protein shake first....the protein balances out the carbs and prevents the crash.     Dumping

    There are varying degrees but a full fledged dump is hell....for me, I got weak, shaky (I couldn't hold a cup to drink my hands were shaking so badly), terrible headache, felt like i was going to throw up, diarrhea, heart RACING, profuse sweating, and ravenously hungry.....and by weak I mean lay down where you are and not lift your head because it takes too much effort and you just can't do it....there was absolutely no question what was happening, not a moment of ' hmmm I wonder if I'm dumping' hit me like a train.....I've had that occur once. As I've played with food I've had a few episodes similar but much more minor, get queasy, heart races,feel really tired, headachy....all carb related. Those are to fun but they are NOTHING compared to that first big bad boy???? Hope you NEVER experience it!!!!     Appeal?!?

    Typically, unless there are extenuating circumstances, if they say 1 surgery they mean 1 surgery and rarely make exceptions. That said, my insurance had the same clause, I'm a band to RNY revision. My band slipped after I'd had it for 2 1/2 years, I had successfully kept off a significant amount of weight. My insurance paid for the revision because I had a failed band....if I had gone to my doc and said 'I hate this damn thing, take it out and do RNY' (which I actually had contemplated doing cuz I did hate that damn thing!!!) they would not have paid. As miserable as the slip and emergency surgery were, they were actually a blessing in disguise . So it DOES happen!!!! good luck! Fingers crossed!     Need diet advice pre op :)

    I have the Syntrax nectars fuzzy navel, lemonade, and Caribbean cooler. Some days okay, some repulsive. Also have the syntrax sweets double stuffed cookie, strawberry mousse, and vanilla bean....those I can tolerate, usually . But just don't wanna have to!!!!     Not losing :(

    31 pounds in 8 weeks is awesome, cut yourself some slack! RNY is a tool, not a miracle, it still takes time and yes it's frustrating as hell but patience young grasshopper!

    pre-op diet encouragement!
