    Weight loss has STOPPED

That's all you can do. I know it's frustrating but if you're eating right and exercising, it WILL come. There's 3500 calories in a pound. The average 5'6 woman needs about 1800-2200 calories a day to maintain weigh. If you're eating 1000 a day and exercising, eventually you will lose weight but it does take a while for your body to adapt to it and decide you're not starving to death!! From week 4 til week 8 I lost 2 pounds....TWO!!!! Exercising 3-4 days a week, eating 800 calories a day, meeting my Protein and Water requirements and I lost 2 pounds in a month....that's when I decided to stop obsessing or I'd stress myself out like crazy. I'm almost 4 months out and 43 pounds down...I'm not breaking speed records but its coming off and I feel great. I'll take slow and steady as long as I get to keep feeling good. I can eat virtually anything (in small amounts), I've yet to meet a food that caused me pain. I have dumped a time or two but no pain. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    Weight loss has STOPPED

It appears the majority of us hit a wall about 3 weeks out....take a deep breath and relax, do what your doctor says, give your body a chance to freak out and recover and it WILL happen....20+ pounds in 4 weeks is fabulous!!!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    On a neverending stall

I decided after the first month not to let the scale control me....it's gonna happen, it may not happen as quickly as it does for others but if eating 1000 calories a day, eating healthy foods, and being active, it's impossible for me to not lose weight....math doesn't lie! So, I just keep rolling, Celebrate the days the scales go down and laugh off the days that it doesn't . Everyone's journey is different but we'll all get their eventually!

    On a neverending stall

I lose for 2 weeks then hang still for 2-3 weeks, i'm almost 4 months and it's been like this since month 1....I just keep on chugging, eventually, if I'm behaving, it'll start back up again.

    What to eat before/after exercise

Protein is awesome, protein helps build muscle which helps burn fat which is essentiall why we're all here...anyone doing any type of strenuous prolonged activity is going to need some carbs for fuel. Don't eat a bag of Funyuns (God I love Funyuns) but complex carbs do provide energy for quicker use then protein does.....ultimately ask your doc but likely you need a few complex carbs pre workout WITH a bit of protein to help level use your glucose and keep your energy from crashing so quick....note, load up on simple carbs and you are screwed, you'll crash and burn worse then ever! (And if you're super serios add protein post workout as well) Also....I am so very proud of you for working so hard!!!you absolutely are a success story in the making. Can't wait to keep reading about your journey!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    What ya eating tonight?

Nothing super carb heavy or super greasy....they make me queasy. I have no problems with any protein, steak, chicken, whatever. I do take small bites and I've always been a slow eater so I'm sure that helps. I can eat a few bites of rice or pasta, not much, but enough to make me not hungry. My snack at work today was celery with peanut butter, no problems with the celery. I love asparagus but can only eat 3-4 stalks....raw carrots full me fast, apples fill me fast, I could eat cuties all day long! I can buy a 6 inch sub, flip the meat in half so it covers 3 inches and throw the rest of the bread away, I typically tear the sides of the bread off as well so I'm getting about a 2 inch sub and that stuffs me. I do have to be careful with scrambled eggs, I just can't eat much, guess its the consistency. Really truly I'm blessed to be able to eat pretty normally. Even the dumping isn't as easy to set loose. As long as I have protein with the carbs or keep the carb load relatively low I'm fine....but greasy stuff or super rich stuff definitely makes me queasy! Pretty sure I could live off fruit these days :/

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

I am becoming an attention whore. I love the reaction I get from people that haven't seen me in months....makes me feel wonderful! Also makes me want to slap myself for not doing it years ago! C'est la vie! I'm doing it now right?

    What ya eating tonight?

Everything in moderation. My instructions are to focus on lean protein as my primary calorie source and avoid sweets and anything high in fat. Nothing is forbidden (well, gum and sodas). I had meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for dinner....just about 1/4 of what i normally would have eaten. I don't eat a lot of veggies with meals because there's just not room! I do eat fruits and veggies as snacks though.

    What ya eating tonight?

I added salads, soft fruits and veggies, and deli sliced meats and toasted bread at 6 or 7 weeks then pretty much was normal 2-3 weeks after that. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    Salad

My story is pretty much identical. 6 or 7 weeks, low fat vinaigrette, lots of egg, cheese, turkey, sunflower seeds, etc, I pretty much eat the top of the salad with a bit of the lettuce/spinach/whatever. No problems! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2
  14. I had my band out then revision 6 months later, revision was almost 4 hours due to scar tissue and a surprise small hiatal hernia (took exactly 1 stitch to fix). Stupid band just made everything more of a challenge. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Going out for new bras tomorrow! The current batch are just ridiculously huge....I figured I'd just step down a size but Cecilia blew my mind with bra sizing and I may have to let the fitter at Dillard's molest me tomorrow to see where the heck I am! (Leaving Friday for a week in the Florida keys! Soooo excited!!!!!!)

    Heat..hard time eating?

Hadn't thought about it but my appetite has been weird the last couple weeks...I'm okay for a bite here or there but a real 'meal' holds no appeal at all...this has just been since the humidity hit central arkansas...interesting.
  19. SoccerMomma73

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I squat so much better!!! Never realized how much the extra padding in my legs interfered . Cecilia, the bra web site was mind boggling!!! I'm going bra shopping tomorrow, curious to see what fits. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    Nuva Ring & skipping periods

Yup, I think he got lazy and skipped the 'remove after 3 weeks then insert a new ring 1 week later' part. First birth control I've ever had that didn't make me feel mody or emotional. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

    Nuva Ring & skipping periods

Actually if you read the package insert you CAN keep the ring in place for 4 weeks instead of taking it out after 3 weeks and having a period. The first month I spotted a little, now my periods are just gone. It's lovely.
