    Hot flashes

Lortab is hydrocodone with acetaminophen. It is notorious for causing facial flushing.

    Lifting restriction

I was 10 pounds for 6 weeks....when I had my lap band I also had a 5 year old smuggler (who is now a 9 year old smuggler) and our rule was he had to let mommy sit down then he could climb up on my lap but I could not pick him up. He did fine.

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

So I'm 206, my 50 pounds down is 205, my half way mark is 202.5, and, of course, I'm dying to get to 199.....so naturally for the last 2 weeks I'm at a total standstill...all sorts of goals just out of reach...I know it'll come but dammit couldn't the scale drop 1 stinking pound since I'm so close?!?!? Evil scale, EVIL.

    Diabetes

Depends on how bad your glucose is. If it is really out of whack they will want it better controlled for the surgery to minimize the risk of complications. Most surgeons want your a1c (3 month glucose average) close to normal (good control is 6.5, for an elective surgery most want you under 7.0-7.5, less surgical complications and better post-op healing). I know it's a frustration but if not does push you back try to use it as more time to learn and prepare yourself. Hopefully it's not too bad and won't be a huge deal: good luck!!!!

    Things I will not miss...

FYI water slides freaking rock when you can just fly down em and not worry about the fire department having to use the jaws off life to pry your fat butt out when it gets wedged in. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8

    Am I Over-Reacting?

scales are evil, evil creatures...they can't differentiate fat from muscle, from poop, from Fluid retention. Use them as a guide, generally they'll point you in the right direction and help you watch for trends in a bad way(or good!!) but try not to live your life obsessing about what the numbers are or may be! You are doing fabulously, don't let the scale beat you down. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Saw my brother and sister in law for the first time since January, my surgery was in February....I hadn't realized we hadn't seen each other at all until I saw the looks on their faces....total astonishment. Felt fabulous!
  13. I actually play with the thigh fat more.....the skin is thinner and looser....my current game is trying to guess how far my stomach is actually going to sag once I'm at a stable weight....it ain't gonna be pretty!!! My other game is guessing how much all the crap they're going to have to cut off of me will weigh . Cuz that'll count as weight loss too!!!!
  14. I know !!! It's nuts!!! Maybe you'll get lucky and have a freakish weird full signal too! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  15. Sadly I don't have a technical explanation....google runny nose after RNY, it's apparently at least semi-common. Kinda like sneezing....I think our wiring is just crazy . There area lot of theories but nothing definite. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8

    Discharged !

I was allowed to use a heating pad right after surgery. It was awesome! Helped the pain and stiffness plus I think it helped the gas (I had pretty much no gas pain). Used the heating pad regularly until 6-7 weeks post op. even took it to work the first 2 weeks I was back.
  21. At 8 weeks I was on normal food with normal activity and felt fine. Enjoy yourself!
