How Long Before You Returned to Work?
SoccerMomma73 replied to KellyLessBelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was off 7 days then worked 1/2 days for three days. Returned full force at 2 weeks. I'm a family practice PA so stand and walk and talk a set a little...not strenuous but not exactly sedentary. The first 3 days were tough but in the end I think my recovery was so smooth because I was up and around and doing so much . If your doc says you can do it, then you can do it!!!!! What comes next?
SoccerMomma73 replied to Tammy wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, when I had my lap band, I went to the seminar, turned in my paperwork and was called 2 weeks later with my appointment to meet the surgeon AND given my surgery date....before I'd even met the man! It was crazy! Of course if anything had come up i would have been rescheduled but all went well! (Well, as good as possible with a band). Keep your chin up, once the appointments start coming it really flies by HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2 -

8 months post op and pregnant
SoccerMomma73 replied to heather200202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look up jerz oh here, she's a pro at the whole pregnant after RNY thing. I'd let your surgeon know and you'll need to see OB ASAP also use caution with taking extra vitamins, some are toxic if you take too much. I can't tell you what you'll need extra of, but ask your surgeon to be safe! Congrats!!! -

Probably weeks 5-8 were the worst for me as far as nausea. It was random, sometimes would last all day, sometimes just a little while. I think it was just part of my parts healing and getting new sensations that my body interpreted strangely.....keep sipping and hopefully it'll pass soon. Zofran saved me!!! I will have to say, for the amount of rub and sauce I eat, the sugar content had not been an issue (and I'm a dumper!) how much rub/sauce can you put on 1 rib....but yes, keep us updated with your recipes Pitt!!!!

Low sugar so probably yup! Splenda brown sugar might work as a sub, not sure if it would burn super easy or not. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2

Had pulled pork twice this week, little sauce, no issue. Ive been very lucky though and other than some dumping with high carb foods and queasiness with super greasy foods, I can eat everything I used to eat. Granted, the amount is hysterical compared to previous! I don't seem to like meat in general as much as I used to though. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2

Worried About Paying for surgery, HELP!
SoccerMomma73 replied to KellyLessBelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeons office was able to tell me exactly what hospital fees were due upfront...if they are saying there MAY be fees then there may NOT be fees as well...I'd call your coordinator and ask for specifics. In my case they told me there were fees but in reality, aside from the surgeons fees, there were no others due on the front side. Good luck!!! Try not to stress -
Did you tell anyone?

I tell everyone, the support has been amazing, no regrets! It's getting a little like being pregnant though!! Lots of people randomly touching me, lifting my sleeves to see if my arms are saggy: it's like my personal space is non-existent sometimes!!!! -
Fabulous February Post-Op's
SoccerMomma73 replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
STRESSED!!!! As a PA I have to retake my boards (to keep my medical license) every 6 years, my test is this Friday. I'm exhausted, spending every spare minute studying, not sleeping, not exercising at all, pretty 'meh' with the diet (although NOTHING like I would have been pre-RNY), hair falling out ridiculously....I want a cookie. I cannot wait for this to be over so I can get back to my regular life. So, understandably, my weight is at a standstill (mediocre diet + no exercise = no weight loss), thank goodness I can't be In a constant stress induced binge or I would have gained 10 pounds already. Don't whining, thanks for listening -
