    fustrated!

Keep in mind, there's fat and there's 'weight'. We are trying to lose fat. The scale cannot differentiate between fat and 'weight'. A pound of fat has 3500 calories. In order to gain 4 pounds of fat you'd have to have eaten 14,000 calories....at 2 1/2 weeks post-op, I don't think you could eat 14,000 calories in a week if you tried!!! Have you pooped? Are you retaining Water? Step away from the scale, take a deep breath, and chill! If you're following your docs rules you WILL lose weight. But I'll warn you, if you're already freaking over the scale this is going to be a LONG road!!!! There are ups and downs, you will stall, you will get frustrated beyond words, but if you follow the rules you'll lose weight. And if you don't follow rules, well, you'll probably lose some too, but likely not as much as you're hoping . Good luck! You got this!!! (Now put the scale away!!!!) Pregnant during surgery?

It's possible. At three days you'd be way too early to test positive. Guess your best way to know would be a pregnancy test. I did have nausea, fatigue, horrible smell aversions for 2 months post op though so I understand whomever told you it was part of the healing process! Good luck!!! Why do revisions lose slower?

True...but we didn't have the malabsorption portion prior to this which is really what pushes the initial loss... Whatever! As long as the darn thing works I'm absolutely cool with slow and steady!!

    Why do revisions lose slower?

Dunno! I think my metabolism was fried from starving myself with the band. I'm not doing bad at all, just definitely not as quick as many. I'll take it!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2

    Post-op vitamins

Varies by surgeon. I take flintstones complete twice a day plus calcium with D twice a day. Some surgeons HATE flintstones, some recommend them :/

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Sitting in the waiting room about to get my mammogram (yay 40!!!!). I'm guessing having the worlds loosest, floppiest boobs should make this a piece of cake!
  19. http://www.babymed.com/fertility-ovulation-calendar-calculator This app can give you a rough idea of your most fertile days. Typically right before and right after your period you are relatively safe...BUT sometimes immediately post-op our cycles are off and you can't really predict when you're going to ovulate! Be very very very careful!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2

    Complete Physical Exam

He got records from my gun that my pap was up to date. I perform paps several times a week. If you do have to have a pap. Jst wash with soap and Water. DO NOT DOUCHE!!!! It can wash away things we need to see on the exam. Good luck, you'll be fine, and it is totally worth it! (And you need a pap anyway if it's been that long!!!!) Not sure about having a bypass

It is extreme but so is dying prematurely from obesity related causes . I had a band, it sucked, wished I'd known then what I know now. I would have started with the RNY. You have to be comfortable with your surgery so do a ton of research, talk to people that have had the surgery, talk to your doc. All I can say is that I'm happier and healthier then I've been in years. However, I'm lucky enough to have had no complications at all so far....knowledge Is power! Good luck with our decision HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2
  22. The hormones and fat make you more likely to not ovulate, no ovulation = no pregnancy. As you're losing weight, hormones are released and a LOT of people are fettle for the first time ever (or in a very long time). I would e VERY careful for the first year....we have a whole batch of bypass babies cooking right now, several in ladies that had been infertile for years and soon after RNY got a surprise!
