Recovery from band vs. bypass
SoccerMomma73 replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had to do my revision in stages because of scar tissue, inflammation, etc. I will say recovery from band removal was a piece of cake....except the stinking port site!!! That was a booger! Bothered me for weeks. I took off 2 days longer after my RNY then I did with my band. Pain was not bad with either but I was really tired much longer after the RNY...I also had a little crazy emotional drama/funk post RNY that was a first for me. Eating and drinking post-op were easier with the RNY. You'll be so glad you did this!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4 -

Oops!!! Dannon light and fit 2X Protein Greek...80 calories, 12 grams of protein. The new blended flavors are totally smooth and you'll probably get 2-3 meals out f a normal serving ate a TON of yogurt early on, still eat it almost daily. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4

Anyone eat bread or tortillas?
SoccerMomma73 replied to Crystalynn Alhashim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sons favorite lunch is now a tortilla with laughing cow cheese and turkey rolled up in it and dunked in salsa so we go through a pack of tortillas a week! No complaints, it's low fat and reasonably high Protein so I'll keep feeding him! Wal.mart always seems to have them, although I did buy 1 size up once....but too big for me! Anyone eat bread or tortillas?
SoccerMomma73 replied to Crystalynn Alhashim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually by the bread and English muffins. One of my go-to dinners when my son is gone is a tortilla with scrambled egg, cheese, and salsa. Quick and not too bad for ya! Or a tortilla with retried Beans, pre-cooked chicken, cheese, and salsa... I'm all about easy when I'm kidless! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4 -
If you can find a sugar free maybe???? HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4

Anyone eat bread or tortillas?
SoccerMomma73 replied to Crystalynn Alhashim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So these are my preferred tortillas and bread. I can eat 1 small tortilla or 1 slice of bread (toasted or unloaded) without issue. As you can see, the tortillas are 80 calories, 13 carbs, but 9 are Fiber, zero sugar, and 3 grams of Protein. The bread is 40 calories, 9 carbs, 3 of which are fiber, 1 gram of sugar, and 2.5 grams of protein per slice. I eat probably on average 1 tortilla or 1 slice of bread a day. Always follow your plan, just thought I'd show you what I've discovered, through trial and error, that I like and that irks within my guidelines. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4 -

SoccerMomma73 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on a quest for healthy comfort food recipes last night and found this: I used a small Mission Carb Balance flour tortilla (80 calories, 13 carbs but 9 grams of fiber so really not bad, 3 grams of protein), about a tablespoon of the avocado sauce and crammed 3 ounces of the chicken onto the taco. It was light and bright and crunchy and absolutely delicious (and the 9 year old loved it). We didn't have ancho chili seasoning so I used lawry's fire roasted chile and garlic seasoning. Per MFP-1 soft taco with 3 ounces chicken was 263 calories and 26 grams of protein, 19 carbs but again 9 of those were fiber..... Definitely going on my favorites list!!! Don't freak!!! (Easy to say, I know). There are so many things that can go wrong with the paperwork trail, talk to your program director tomorrow and call the insurance company too. It could be as easy as someone clicking A instead of B when entering your data. Good luck!!! Fingers crossed for you!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.6

Fabulous February Post-Op's
SoccerMomma73 replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
202.4, officially half way there! July was not a good weight loss month, however, prior to RNY I would have gained at least 5 pounds with all the stress and crap. Instead I lost 3. That still qualifies as success in my book! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.6 -
For me personally the only time I've gotten foamie with RNY is when I took a bite that wasn't chewed well enough and it was sort of 'stuck'. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2
