SoccerMomma73 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one for breakfast today and thought the same darn thing!!!! I only bought it cuz it said crunch. Ha! Just as mushy as the rest of em! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6 -
My family are all such brats. The son, father, and brother all offer advice on what I should order based on what they want to mooch off my plate. I think, if I couldn't eat with my family, I'd be lost....that would be REALLY hard for me! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6

Lol, what can I say, I have stubborn fat. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I'd stall right at 200. I haven't been <200 since high school! I think they have a pool going at work to see how long it takes me HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6 -

(Dumping) What did you eat?
SoccerMomma73 replied to califmomto4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cream of wheat, movie theatre popcorn, ice cream (no sugar added, not sugar free), and most recently grapes. The key with every episode was that the food item was eaten alone. No other carbs or Protein. And I hadn't eaten anything for hours before....if I have a little protein I can eat a little of almost anything. I have some STRANGE food combinations some days HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6 -
I don't have an issue eating with other people. I eat a bite or two, talk, eat a bite. I can stretch a meal out just as long as the normal folks and enjoy the company. The key (for me) is to not focus on the food but instead focus on the social aspect of the meal out. I hope you find peace with this and can eventually enjoy and evening out with the family. At <6 weeks post op I did refried beans with cheese and sour cream, egg drop soup/soup, or baked potato. After 6 weeks I could eat essentially anything, just not much of it or anything too greasy (or else I get a tummy ache). Early on I stuck with soft meats/ flaky fish/ etc, many places you can get em blackened or broiled. Just go slow! I can't eat 1/2 of a meal out. I decided early on I was still going to order what I wanted, not get a kids meal or appetizer/side just because I couldn't eat all of a real meal. I deserve real food, if I don't eat it all, oh well! I know it's a waste, but it's my money sooooo....(drives my 6'3, 190 pound dad CRAZY!!! He'll kill himself trying to finish what's on my plate, it's hysterical)

My first was around week 3....but as you broaden out and are eating new foods is when you'll really find out. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6

It's a pain in the butt, but I find it keeps me honest with myself. I would NEVER meet my Protein if I didn't log....I find most things I eat I can estimate on serving size after having measured for months..Things I eat often I've added to MFP. Some days, I just don't bother. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 200.6

You're screwed! Sorry! You'll just have to guess-timate it. You can add recipes but you have to know each amount of each item in the salad, then MFP calculates each servings nutrients for you. Otherwise you'll just have to estimate xxx chicken xxx avocado xxx mayo and calculate each ingredient individually. This is where MFP is a pain on the butt.
-
If you out the serving size into MFP it will calculate the protein amounts for each item.
-
Taste varies from person to person. I take flintstones complete and my favorite protein drinks are Syntrax nectars.
-
I mostly count Protein but MFP throws out calories too, I probably average 900-1000 at 6 months post op. on rare occasion I've maxed about 1400 calories (traveling, eating out) and then I have days with 600-700 too. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4

Ewwwwww!!!! I'm a southern girl and I love southern cooking but yucky!!!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4 -
I'm 6 months and have been consistently losing air since around month 4. Seems like a ton to me but the rest of the universe says its not noticeable. I do color mine every 6 weeks. I do get my Protein but am to taking Biotin (just don't see the need). So far it's almost identical to when I had my band. If it continues on that path my loss should stop over the next couple months. While it's true protein makes a difference, there's also a huge physical stress response to surgery and drastic weight loss that you really cannot control. Just keep in mind, as said above, it is temporary, it will stop eventually! Hopefully enforce you need a wig! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4

Fabulous February Post-Op's
SoccerMomma73 replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last night we had a going away dinner for my brother (leaves Tuesday for Mississippi then about 6 weeks later for another 12 month tour in Afghanistan). My brother's best friends brother's jaw literally dropped when he realized who I was (it took a bit for him to place me). He spent the entire night either staring at me or trying to get next to me to talk...he complemented me on everything from my hair to my shoes and everything in between. It was hysterical! And extremely unnerving to get that kind of attention from a guy. This is so weird HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 202.4 -
Type in their MFP name where it says email address. I do it from my iPhone without problem.
